Hey guys! So sorry for the rare and slow updates lately! The reason is, on a more positive note, that we've worked really hard on delivering a good version.
v0.50 is by us thought of as "50% complete". The goal for v0.50 has been to make you a version of Kodon that gives you the usefulness of voxel engine + surface sculpting. We are inspired by the sculpting abilities of known programs like ZBrush and 3D Coat.
We've added many new surface sculpting tools, we've worked on improving the workflow (easy access to smoothing tool, invert tool button and so on).
We've also made you three new environments where both lighting, reflection and appearance have been designed for optimal sculpting conditions.
Please note that some functions have been temporarily suspended (GPU optimization, support for environment customization, multi-object editing. They will be back!
There are also of course bugs, since Kodon is 50% complete and this is a prealpha product. So bugs are part of the deal. Please save and use responsibly, accept occasional workarounds and so on.
We hope to deliver you the 100% complete product this summer as our work capacity is about to increase further.

We've thought long and hard on this version. The brain model took about 2 minutes to put together with the new crease and move tools
v0.50 will be the version marking roughly halfway (50%) finished development of Kodon. This version will include a lot of the technology gained from the Royal Academy of Arts exhibition work (you know.. the delay where we went silent for over a month), as well as new changes suggested by our pro sculptor Emil to bring Kodon more in directon of existing sculpting software (like ZBrush).
Furthermore, several bugfixes are in, including (as it seems) finally having returned Win7 support to Kodon! (removing the "freeze" problem) Also, the "white flashes" (framedrops returning you to the SteamVR lobby) have been minimized.
You can go to the [beta] branch (rightclick Kodon in Steam, Properties, choose the BETAS-tab and choose "beta -" in the pulldown menu. Ignore the "code" field) and check out some of the upcoming features:
* 1.5 million polygon limit per object (unlimited in principle, but current version is RAM heavy - will fix when optimized)
* Move-tool (also known as "grab" in other programs)
* Fold-tool (also known as "crease" in other programs)
* Falloff-control on all tools
* Full vertex paint in all modes
More is obviously coming with the "actual" v0.50 (in 1-2 weeks from this announcement) - a new default environment, new tools, UX improvements and heavy optimizations.
