About This Game

Take command of your army and expand your reign in Medieval II - the fourth installment of the award-winning Total War series of strategy games. Direct massive battles featuring up to 10,000 bloodthirsty troops on epic 3D battlefields, while presiding over some of the greatest Medieval nations of the Western and Middle Eastern world. Spanning the most turbulent era in Western history, your quest for territory and power takes you through Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and even onto the shores of the New World.
You'll manage your empire with an iron fist, handling everything from building and improving cities to recruiting and training armies. Wield diplomacy to manipulate allies and enemies, outsmart the dreaded Inquisition, and influence the Pope. Lead the fight in the Crusades and bring victory to Islam or Christianity in the Holy War. Rewrite history and conquer the world. This is Total War!
  • Bigger and better real-time battles. Improved combat choreography, larger armies, quicker pace, and spectacular finishing moves make this the most visceral and exciting Total War ever.
  • New epic campaign. The ambitious single player campaign will span three continents and let players sail across to the Americas to confront the Aztecs on their home soil.
  • Greater accessibility. An enhanced user interface and optional shorter campaigns make the Total War experience faster and easier to enjoy than ever before.
  • Over 40 new features. An advanced terrain system, enhanced weather effects, and more will help you divide and conquer.
  • Intense Multiplayer Battles. Wage war against other players in 8-way multiplayer games across the Internet and LAN.

NOTE: Because the Kingdoms expansion uses core game elements from the Medieval II: Total War game, it is required that you use the same method for purchasing Kingdoms as you did in purchasing Medieval II: Total War. If you purchase Medieval II: Total War from Steam, then please use Steam to purchase Kingdoms.

mmmm its great game, and i would say go buy it. The mod are great for it, plus its easy to mod your files. So you dont have download a file to unlock the civ. I say Third Age mod is really awesome. The bad things is that when you play online there not much people play it but its not bad as rome total war, but people still play online, but that what u get form old game :D.

This game hooked me up for SOOOOO many hours I lost count. I have played more than 500 hours on the physical version. And still come back to it nowadays on steam.
It has some great mods and mod potential.

If you are a Tolkien fan theres Middle Earth Total War MOD which is pretty awesome.
If you want to play vanilla tho it offers pretty good campaigns and the Kingdoms offer a lot more factions diveristy you could ask for... All that for a very low price. Really recomended on the total war Series.

M2tw isn't yet too old to be played, even the base game is good on its own, along with various mods like Stainless steel & Third Age Tw are just adding more the same - epic medieval content. I have also played Rome 2 & NTW on other account, would suggest them too as well. Replayed, with steam now.

One of my best games of all times! I hope they make a 3rd part of this. I have been playing this game for years and loved either having 70% of my faction die from plague or by the mongols!

This is one of not THE best total war games of its time and for many reasons.

It has epic battles with lots of strategy to fill the poetential of your wide roster of units at your disposal with cavalry, artillery(Catapults,Trebuchets,Cannons etc.),Musketeers,Swords,Pikes,Spears,Bows. I could go on about the whole variety of units and how each faction has different specialities and playstyles depending on the type of units there best with.

I have spent over 800 hours into this game and im not even bored yet due to the epic battles, battle music and just the intensity of it all. This game was made in what 2005 soemthing like that and i still rate it THE BEST game to ever of come in existence with 0 games even coming close to being better than this one is.

I would put this on the top of your wishlist and highley reccommend you should play this game

Smooth gameplay,Countless dlc like mods and a Hotseat campaign allowing numerous players to play in a campaign, this member of the total war series is by far my favourite, would completely recommend.

The difference between the starting level of tech and the end-game level of tech is negligable and The Pope is a force of evil when he's choosing to punish you but allow the Christian faction that went to war with you of their own accord to rampage through your lands.

I'd still recommend this game despite its flaws though; it's a great base for mods and does have a lot going on for it in the early game.

The best game in the series so far, and probably forever judging from the path the series is taking (yeah, yeah, I know, Shogun 2 is great, but not as great as Medieval 2 in my opinion; and I won't even talk about Rome 2 or Attila...).

I still play this game today, and I have played more of it than all the others combined; it's one of my favourite games of all time.

Legend/10 !

i'm honesly writing this review so I can get the community badge.
But Medival Total War II is a really good game in the series.
Unlike Empire or Rome II, Medival II is not buggy.

The AI still holds up pretty well, same with the graphics.

Overall, 8.9/10
