Victoria II is the least blobby game of all Paradox Grand Strat titles. You can quite happily form a small country and be extremely happy with the result. Very in depth Industry and Trade mechanics that allow for a lot of tweaking, and nice little half-hidden details to go with it. Would recommend.

This is the story of the once great nation of Sweden.
Its the early 1840's, Sweden is in crippling debt and the people are on the verge of revolution.
The new king is crowned and begins to reform the goverment, becoming a conservitive party.
Sweden begins to thrive under the rule of this new king, with the United Kingdom taking notice.
Over many decades Sweden finally becomes a great power leading in both prestige and industry.
After on and off war with Norway and Denmark, Sweden abandones it's desire for expansion.
Over the years Sweden had its fair share of rebel uprisings, none the Swedish military couldn't handle.
Breaking News hits the papers, Swedish patriots storm the capital of Finland, causing them to surrender.
The Swedish king then annexes most of Finland, leaving one tiny province.
Sweden begins a new golden age, becoming one of the most respected nations in the world.
Germany, Sweden's neighbor down south becomes a democracy and allies with Sweden.
While Russia becomes the Soviet Union and puts troops on the Swedish Border.
1904, the great war starts.
The UK and Germany fight together against the French and Austria
Sweden joins the war and sends their best men to help out on the Magniot.
Germany pushes hard into Austria while Sweden protects them from the french.
The people of germany, tired from the war, rise up.
The entire country is at war with itself, with millions of rebels helping the French-Austrian Alliance.
The 1st Swedish Royal army, Sweden's best and most prestigious army comes under fire from the German Rebels.
The battle lasts for many weeks untill the Swedish army is slaughtered by the Rebel Tide.
Thousands Die.
The Second Swedish Reserve Army is trapped in Austria.
Led by Sweden's best general, they manage to fight their way through the remaining Austrian army and the Rebels to the last bastion of the German Military.
The German Military covers the swedish escape to the last port.
Millions Die.
The Reserve army finally escapes europe and returns home.
Germany and the UK both fall to rebel uprisings.
The Great War ends and Sweden is surrounded by the Russians and the French.
Fighting a war on 2 fronts the Swedish people are slaughtered by the thousands.
After many years of fighting Sweden falls.
The king is killed and Sweden is annexed to The Soviet Union.
Even though the goverment and the country has fallen, the Swedish resistance still fights their Soviet Masters to this day.
Some say you can still hear the echoes of the brave men who fell in defense of their homeland.

>starts out as Russian Empire
>kicks ♥♥♥ as the Russian Empire
>kicks more ♥♥♥ as the Russian Empire
>creates Communist Revolution in early 1900s and forms Soviet Union, throwing the remainders into a mess
>manages to industrialize the USSR and get it back into the great powers in less than 50 years

I have become Father Stalin.

>finishes the game with a war where I ally with France and the U.S. against the U.K. and Italy, and we're winning

Though in all honesty, I would seriously recommend this game.

Victoria 2 is a next level of depth for a game that I had no idea was possible. Everything from encouraging a certain type of job in some far off tiny colony in Africa to managing your country's economy is possible along with everything in between. This is not just a map simulator, but more of a world simulator. Not appeasing the public's will will bring rebellions and will shift the balance of your government. You can go from having a war-happy nation to one that cuts itself off from the world because your population drastically shifted their vote due to you gaining too much infamy or not passing a policy reform that 2+ million people wanted. This game is for people that love to do nothing but micro-manage on a large scale. The conquering of countries and waging wars is the fun side of this game, but what really creates another level of realism is managing your country like a true president/dictator/king would.

Although i dont have too many hours in Vic 2 its a great game combat can sometimes be a bit overwhelming and the start of the game but when u know the basics of the game its amazing this game really makes u feel like a great power .In Eu4 i didnt feel like i had a lot of power and importance to the balance of the world but in Vic 2 u feel like u have a army worthy of the vaterland and also becoming a industrial powerhouse. In hoi4 u just produce units and rek the Ai easily but vic 2 has challenge and rewarding achivements.

Sorry 0/10 grammar but all in all vic 2 is my favourite paradox game so far i just hope they make vic 3 like vic 2 and update some systems
