About This Content

Magicka: Vietnam is the first mission DLC for the highly popular PC action/adventure game Magicka. Nowadays it seems like every game is getting a Vietnam add-on and Magicka is no exception.

Magicka: Vietnam features a lengthy challenge scenario that puts you in the boots of a Wizard GI. Venture deep into the Goblin-Cong jungle, with up to three fellow soldiers, to liberate prisoners from a POW camp. Then you must destroy enemy positions, escape the perils of the jungle and return safely to the evacuation helicopter.

At the request of the community, Magicka: Vietnam also features a new challenge map with increased difficulty.

In the Magickal jungles of Vietnam you'll have an array of Vietnam-era weapons and a special Magick that calls in a napalm strikes on enemy positions. Players will of course still have access to what makes Magicka truly unique – the dynamic spell casting system and a healthy dose of humour.

Key Features:

  • Vietnam themed game world with a twist.
  • 2 Challenge maps (1 scenario challenge & 1 survival challenge)
  • New Vietnam themed enemies.
  • Many new Vietnam era weapons
  • Stylish GI Wizard robe
  • New Magick – Napalm strike
  • Innovative and dynamic spell casting system with thousands of possible combinations.
  • Up to four player co-op in all game modes as well as single player option.
  • Experience the parody and satire of a cliché fantasy world/jungle war.

System Requirements

    • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7 (32- or 64-bit)
    • Processor: Intel® Pentium® IV 2.4 GHz or AMD 3500+
    • Memory: 2 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce 8800 or ATI Radeon® X1900 (Integrated Video Cards not recommended)
    • DirectX®: DirectX 9
    • Hard Drive: 2 GB Available Space
    • Sound: DirectX-compatible sound card
    • Other Requirements: 3-button mouse, keyboard and speakers. DSL Internet connection for multiplayer

This is a very short additional level for Magicka. The entire level can be completed in 30 minutes or less. You are dropped off in the jungle of Vietnam and given the mission to destroy weapon caches and radio towers. There are no checkpoints. If your party dies, it's mission failure and you'll need to start over.

This level is full of guns you can pick up. The majority of guns deal more damage per second than the spells you can cast, so there is almost no need to ever use elemental magick. You do learn a spell to call in a napalm airstrike, so that's fun to take out large hordes of enemies.

There's not much variety here at all. You see the same rice fields, forests, and enemy structures throughout the entire level, all full of the same 4 enemy types. This leaves the DLC feeling rushed and incomplete.

This DLC is directed by Michael Bay. I guarantee you will see explosions, bullets flying everywhere, badass Cpt Vampire, badass Americans, guns and ♥♥♥♥, grenades, rpg rockets flying everywhere, and more explosions.

But, the DLC is short. I mean extremely short like 20-30 mins depending on how badass you are.

Do I recommend it? Yes I do. It's totally worth it.

Play 30 minutes with my mate, enjoy the guns, Rambo reference and the napalm destruction, that was fun 10 minutes.
Finish the only missions.
Meh next.
Not worth the price.

I only bought this DLC for the M16. And the AK47. But also the RPG.

Oh, and I forgot the RPK. Hum, I admit that I wanted the Napalm strike too.

Ok I bought it for all the guns and the Vietnam theme.

Although expansion packs are better than DLC, this is the pinnacle of DLC.

One of my favorite expansions of all time for one of my favorite games of all time. Magicka: Vietnam does exactly what it sets out to do; it transplants Aldrheim's sociopathic wizards and downtrodden goblins into one of the most infamous wars in United States history, completely disregarding every ounce of "logic" or "reason" that the original Magicka might have kept hidden in a closet somewhere.

Vietnam offers the essentials for any small-scale expansion pack. A robe to wear that's set apart from the rest, a new magick that'll put the fear of God in you (and your friends), a challenge map that puts most others to shame in difficulty, and a campaign that's not too long and not too short. While Vietnam is by no means groundbreaking for Magicka, it's an absolute blast to play and gives the player a satisfying arsenal of period-accurate firearms to anachronize the living daylights out of their opponents.

If you're looking for more Magicka or you want an expansion to add on to your purchase, Vietnam is a solid choice.

Realistic modern warfare action which totally reflects on the Vietnam war.
Throw all your Steam game shortcuts in your Desktop trashcan because what you are about to witness is probably the last bit of magic in this world.
Don't judge you filthy casual or the Napalm burst is gonna get you !

You love Magicka, and you love blowing things up, and all the great chaos of messing with your friends. Take that, add a machine gun and napalm. Yeah, this was probably the best idea ever.

What happens when you give wizards an M60? Magicka: Vietnam DLC!

BLEIGH!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

No seriously, this is the best Magicka DLC. It combines traditional Magicka spell casting and assault rifles with pre-applied unlimited ammo cheat. All soldiers have the same rifles, except the one who carries a much more powerful gun.

a great DLC that puts you in vietnam fighting vietcong-themed enemies and this DLC dosent just come with a new campaign it has a new napalm magick and a new robe that lets you use a M16 and grenades and you can ware this robe in the base game and this DLC is really fun to play and even with its vietnam theme it dosent lose its personality so for 5$ why not give this DLC a try

As with all of Magicka, this is pretty much meant for co-op play. If you don't have friends to play this with, then... well the entire game, much less this DLC, is not worth picking up.

As for this... you get automatic weapons, can call napalm "spells" and generally cause mayhem in typical Magicka fashion.

If you have friends to play this with... why not? :o
