About This Game

Super Meat Boy is a tough as nails platformer where you play as an animated cube of meat who's trying to save his girlfriend (who happens to be made of bandages) from an evil fetus in a jar wearing a tux.

Our meaty hero will leap from walls, over seas of buzz saws, through crumbling caves and pools of old needles. Sacrificing his own well being to save his damsel in distress. Super Meat Boy brings the old school difficulty of classic NES titles like Mega Man 2, Ghost and Goblins and Super Mario Bros. 2 (The Japanese one) and stream lines them down to the essential no BS straight forward twitch reflex platforming.

Ramping up in difficulty from hard to soul crushing SMB will drag Meat boy though haunted hospitals, salt factories and even hell itself. And if 300+ single player levels weren't enough SMB also throws in epic boss fights, a level editor and tons of unlock able secrets, warp zones and hidden characters.
  • Story mode, featuring over 300 levels spanning 5+ chapters
  • Play as a Head Crab! (Steam Exclusive)
  • 33 legitimate Achievements
  • Warp zones that will warp you into other games
  • Over 16 unlockable able and playable characters from popular indie titles such as, Minecraft, Bit.Trip, VVVVVV and Machinarium
  • Epic Boss fights
  • Full Level Editor and Level Portal (January 2011)
  • A story so moving you will cry yourself to sleep for the rest of your life

It is truly remarkable, a game which success primirely based on mutual hatred between player and game itself.

Starting to wonder what's so 'super' about this 'meat boy'

..he's died more times than Sean Bean

10/10. Me encanta.

Super Meat Boy isn't a bad game in general,
but in my opinion, there isn't much value beside it's difficulty.

-only story is to save the girl/boy
-music is only acceptable
-not everyone likes the "sippery"-styled controll

+tricky
+creative level design

To me the game became boring in a relatively short ammount of time.
If you only want to play for the challange, you might like this game,
but i would recommend to rather play Geometry Dash.
(It's challanging too, has great music, fun gameplay and nearly infinite levels due to it's community)

This game is simply genius. The only flaw for this game is it's own greatest achievement. It's that it's so damn difficult. I can't, I just can't play it for more than a few hours at a time. It's the kind of game that you binge. The kind of game you fantasize about and draw fan art of more than you actually play. I spend more time designing levels than trying to beat the game. LMFAO. It's a wonderful game and everyone should have it in thier library. Seriously. There's no objective way to describe it. It's the top of the indie gaming triangle with braid and fez at the bottom. Also, Ed is a genius in general. I reccomend all of his games, even his lesser developed ones like Fingered can be really fun.

EXCELLENT ALARM CLOCK! Just play for a few minutes and everyone in the house is awake!!

I found its best for me to take it in bursts. Return fresh and just swing right thru a level then get stuck on the next, take a break, and repeat. :D

Super Meat Boy is supposedly a rage inducing game... as someone with potential anger issues i have no qualms with this game, maybe ending up crying in the corner of my room slurping up icecream mixed with my tears while screaming along to Linkin Park - Numb. But never anger. This game is in my opinion a load of fun but very difficult so if you're anything like me, temperamental, before playing this game call some suicide watch service and beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of that chodelike slab of meat (again).

I love to see the tears of the ones who try to 100% this game.

Some of it's achievements are even included on the hardest achievements of all time lists, so good lucky with that. Really.

I am conflicted about Super Meat Boy. There is without a doubt that this game, when it comes down to its core concept and mechanics, is stellar, yet the occasional autoscrolling section or seemingly haphazard obstacle completely breaks the immersion of the experience for anyone as irascible as me. Nevertheless, even with my personal qualms with its design, I would be foolish to ignore Super Meat Boy as a vanguard of independent games and its influence on 2D platformers as a whole. 8.0/10.

When I was a kid I saw Weekend At Bernies. Everyone saw Weekend At Bernies. Well you know that scene where Bernie has fallen out of the back of the boat and is being dragged along behind....and he hits the metal buoy *bong*...then another *bong*...then another *bong*. My brother and a mate watched that scene and then rewound the tape (VHS was in back then) and watched it again *bong* and again *bong* and again *bong*. After a few minutes we were rolling around the ground in hysterics, tears streaming out our faces and gasping from breath *bong*. Most hilarious thing I've ever seen. Super Meat Boy is that scene. Over and over and over again meat boy launches through the air and into certain death. With each one my laugh get more raucous and my hysterical. Run *splat*...run, jump *splat*....jump, run, jump, jump *splat*. Then when you complete a level you get to watch all your ill fated, failed meat boys try again all at once and die in a glorious chorus of splats. How I got past the first act without splitting a side I'll never know.

Are you ready to...die a lot...i mean to die thousands of times? Won't you go bananas and smash your gamepad or keyboard? Yes? Are you usually calm and cool? Can you accept the fact that you may not achieve your goals during a game session?Won't you give up and delete the game files from your computer? Yes? Then it's time to answer the last question: Is it actually worth it? Do you know the flavor of victory? If it is about you the game is good for you. Get it and dive into the incredible action-platformer. For those who want to be the best...you have to be completely unflappable, absolutely cold-blooded, inconceivably patient to perfect all the levels, unlock every single character, earn the hardest achievements. You are warned, now feel frustrated or disappointed, or unconcerned or buy the game and try your best in the super adventure of the super meat boy...at risk to be distracted from reality...maybe forever.
