About This Game

Knight Online is a PvP-centric Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game that has been under continuous development for over a decade. Two nations: El Morad and Karus – or more colloquially, humans and orcs – are locked in an eternal struggle for dominance of the Adonis Continent. The PvP in Knight Online is fast-paced, action-packed, and oftentimes frantic. Dozens of players can be seen clashing in PvP zones during all hours of the day. With events such as Lunar War and Castle Seige War, the action becomes massive!

While PvP may be the beating heart of Knight Online, much of the game is spent embarking on quests, killing monsters, and – of course – collecting loot. The Upgrade System lets players tempt fate in an effort to improve their existing weapons, armor, or accessories (or lose them in the process!). With its unique ability to let players refine their skills and build their characters and equipment, Knight Online is able to entertain and excite its fans even after many years. Pick a side, build up your warrior, and join the fray!

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10
    • Processor: Pentium 3 600MHz or better
    • Memory: 512 MB RAM
    • Graphics: 3D Acceleration
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 2 GB available space

I played this game from 2004 till 2011 on its own platform, and decided to stop playing for the amount of cheaters in game. Then when they announced their debut on Steam in January 2016, I wanted to give it a shot again. I am not gonna include anything from my past experiences on this game, and this review will be solely based on my experiences playing Knight Online on Steam.

So if you don't know anything about this game, it's an mmorpg game with heavy grinding required to level up and get strong items in game. Having said that, let me start by going with pros and cons on this game;

Pros

- Its PvP is probably the best, I've played a lot of mmorpg games including the World of Warcraft, and Knight Online's PvP system is by far the best one.

- Knight Online's upgrade system is pretty good and addicting, especially after a certain point, items start glowing and at +9, they glow like a light bulb and people always try to upgrade +9 items, and it's fun trying to upgrade items, of course if you fail, it destroys your items.

- Securitywise it is much better on Steam. Although it is usually too late, GMs usually ban cheaters.

Cons

- When GMs ban the cheaters, it is usually too late, because they sell the illegal items and in game coins to websites before the GMs ban them, so it doesn't really matter after they get their profit. They can open up a new character and quickly level it up by using the 3rd party software again. This affects the overall economy of the game, and cheaters create monopolies on items that are really hard to get.

- Selling in game items and coins for real money is illegal per their policy, however one of the websites of the NTTGame, publisher of Steam Knight Online, have a lists of resellers of their game codes which they clearly advertise, however most of these websites are selling gold bars(in game coins), and in game items as well, which are hard to get if you play legally. This is completely absurd because these websites are doing the exact opposite thing of what Knight Online's policy suggests, yet they are still being advertised on their websites. If this is a mistake, and they are not aware of this, it needs to be fixed ASAP.

- Your computer needs to be open to buy and sell items, they do not have an auction house system where you can set your item for sale and then you can turn off your computer. This is not the case in Knight Online, as my hrs on record suggests. And as I mentioned cheaters are getting banned but it affects the overall game economy, which ruins the lives of legal players. For example, while a legal player merchants day and night to make some in game profit, personally as my hrs on record proves, someone can go onto a website and buy a gold bar(100m in game coins) in like 5 minutes. This is not fair, and is the reason I uninstalled this game from my computer after playing for 1,385.2 hrs.

- Forums are a mess in my opinion, especially the Turkish side of the forum. Especially the Turkish GMs are in power trips in my opinion, and forums(mostly the Turkish side) are ran like a dictatorship.

- This is probably the worst game management I've ever seen. The population dropped from 20k+ players to less than 10k players in 6 months, but they are still doing the same mistakes.

TL;DR: Game was garbage 10 years ago and is still garbage. Go with any of the other Free to Play options.

Don't let the playtime fool you, I have thousands of hours in this game. I played it 10 years ago. It was my first MMO. I didn't know any better. When I saw it on steam, I knew it would be garbage, but I assumed they had at least made some improvements on the pile of pixelated feces that I played 10 years ago. I was wrong.

I honestly don't understand what KO is trying to pull, and I especially don't understand what Steam is getting out of this. This needs to be removed from steam ASAP, before someone who doesn't know any better gets pulled into this garbage game.

The devs/mods/whoever the hell is still making money off this crap don't care at all about their players or any of the many problems that the game still has. I quit this game because of all the exploiters and hackers that they let run amuck. There was one spot where our group never bothered to go because the same guy was there botting for literally months. 24/7. Never got banned. How hard would it have been?

The people - and I hesitate to call them people - running this game won't lift a finger to make their gameplay experience enjoyable, and they definitely don't deserve any of your money. If you're looking for another F2P option, I'll list some below. These games aren't perfect either, and of course all games have issues, but nothing is as bad as Knight Online.
