About This Game

Pesadelo - Regressão (Pesadelo - The Regression) is a sequel of Pesadelo : O início (Pesadelo: The Beginning)

A cemetery filled with hostile creatures. A church that will not save you. Complex puzzles. The return to the school where everything began. And a fragile, intelligent girl with a thirst for revenge.

Relive Alex's dark memories as he tries to scape from an enemy that came back even stronger.

Is it another dream, or the naked truth?

Two weeks ago, Alex met Sara, a scientist at the Oblivion Laboratory that works in a memory recovery program.

Knowing that Alex didn't remember his own past, she encourages him to be a test subject for a software that rebuilds memories, recreating sceneries through dreams.

Everything seemed perfect during the first test. However, his brain tries to protect itself by creating a "defense" that hunts Alex in his dreams.

After he escapes from that creature, Alex end up at his old school, where he studied as a child.

A girl that was bullied by Alex and his friends shows up and tries to kill him in every possible way.

Once again Alex finds another way to escape. But to where?

As soon as this game came out. I made a video on it and told my subscribers, and the dev team everything i didn't like about this game. (which was alot) It had alot of problems that needed fixing. One of the people on the dev team commented on my video with some positive feedback.

2 days later i see an update with all of the bad things i mentioned fixed. It is great to see team listen to their fans/supporters. Thankyou for making the game better!

This game in nice, if you play it on EPIC settings.
Other setting don't really work properly (especially medium ones). :(

Anyway the graphics looks nice, looks like it was made by AAA studio, the atmosphere is great, you can feel the scariness in the air :D
Also the plot is interesting, though you don't really know what is it all about.
The voice acting is horrible for me, it is only in portuguese (luckily there are english subtitles) also it is very poorly done :(
The soundtrack is nice and it enhances the whole experience a lot :D

I recommend that game, but the in responsible price. If it is -50% take it without a doubt.

This is one scary sh$t...

I was very excited about this game, and I am glad it didn't disappointed me.
Just seeing U4 engine logo at start promise a quality looking game, and it is!

Game atmosphere will keep you at high tension all the time, so maybe Pesadelo - Regressão isn't for people with weak heart. A guarantee that you will be sucked deep in to a game from first minutes of playing.

Graphicly textures and models can compare with any good AA game, for indie game it's just flawless.

Gameplay offers decent variety of elements, crafting, puzzles, survival and adventure. Like you actually have to craft thingie to be able to save the game. I wont reveal much of in-game content, but Il say it is very very challenging.

Sound have great chilly/horror music that completely fulfill pleasure of enjoying game horrifying ambience.
HOWEVER I find a big con at voice-acting, it is very amateurish made, like I did it with my 15eur mic, plus voice cover is only on Portuguese, luckily there are eng subs and there isn't too much voice interaction, so it is going in to second plan and easily forgot when you continue playing game.

Well we dont see many good horror games these days, so this may be the best we got after Layers of Fear, totaly recommended to all horror fans.
Price is fair for what this game have to offer, but I appeal developers to make english voice-over in upcoming updates.

Pesadelo is a great atmospheric horror game at a very low price. This is by no means a cash grab game that is flooding steam recently. A very good game with the excellent unreal engine 4, good atmosphere, well made map, average AI. The only problem I see is the lack of actual english voice acting as it is only portuguese with sub titles.

Worth every penny. Do not pass on this!!! Get it now!!!

Here is proof:

The review for the game is from what i've played and seen so far and might change once i finish off the game.

Pesadelo is really a bit of a mixed bag of goods, but taken it's from an indie developer and a very small team, they have created a a nice litle title. Game uses UT4-engine and the graphics are really great, i'm not too deep into the game yet, but i do hope there are more elements to be found though.

Gameplay on it's own was pretty simple to pick up, go from place a to place b to pick up quests, complete the objective and return. On this personally i would've hoped some more sidequests and so on, since the areas are quite huge and i hope developer will put those into good use later on to provide more excitement.

Only two things which i've had some problems with. Firstly, it's kind of weird to start up the game and completing tasks when i have absolutely no idea on the backstory of this character (I hope it'll come up eventually)

And secondly voiceacting. It might be that i'm not just customed to hear portuguese, but i can't feel charisma or any emotions on the voiceacting so it brings down the atmosphere a bit.

All in all, what i've seen so far, it's quite alright. Just have to get time to actually finish the game

A Horror Adventure Game
+ Very scary gameplay, imagine being in a cemetery in the middle of the night with a bunch of mutated demon men with claws are walking around looking for you...
+ Kinda similar to the "Slenderman" games as you look for clues / pages while demons try to kill you (although the clues you use to solve puzzles to unlock new areas)
+ Interesting storyline, something about reliving your past memories
+ Visually the game looks pretty good with a lot of detail and interesting environments

- Voice acting is in Portuguese, and many of the documents you see and pick up are written in Portuguese. There is translations for most of them, but for some there are none and the English subtitles do have some errors.
- Without a guide you can get lost and a bit confused on where or what to do next which can be upsetting because it does take a lot of time to sneak past all the demons to explore new areas.

Pesadelo - Review
Full Review

Pesadelo is not Perfect-elo, it’s an ambitious indie horror that is desperately trying to avoid the common walking simulator horror tropes. It succeeds in a few areas, while comically stumbling in others. For a first time, low budget, indie offering that could use a fair bit of refinement --it's not devoid of thrilling moments. I was surprised how it turned into a stealth based cat and mouse maze through dark crypts and mausoleums. Good lighting and visuals construct a thrilling atmosphere to dodge monsters in the night. It's flaws will be ignored by fans of creative indie horrors, and this one fits that bill.

- Good lighting, texture, and level design ... pretty good use of Unreal 4's visual prowess.
- Tense cat and mouse gameplay, with some occassional jump scares.
- Pedro (see review)

- Confusing moments, with little or no direction given.
- Really bad animations
- Campy scenes and awkward moments, monsters thwarted by a door.

So far this game has been a challenge to even get started...

I bought it the same day it came out because I had an incredible positive experience playing the free "demo" that was made a long time ago. Once I got started on the game it disapointed me with its mediocre "hide and seek" mechanics in the beginning which made me put away the game for a while.

Today (Aug 15th 2016) I decided to give it another go since I had seen the masive amount of positive reviews it had on its store page after a recent update. But I still haven't managed to get it started properly yet.
First off... If you own a HTC Vive and launch this game, it will automatically turn on your Vive as well for some odd reason and run the game in VR mode...? After disconnecting my Vive I then managed to start up the game, but everytime I change the settings from window to fullscreen mode it just freezes the game. When I start the game back up it is in window mode again...

Until I actually get the game working I will leave a thumbs down :(

Fullscreen option was completely broken unfortunately. Would cause the game to be played in a small part of the window, yet remain in a windowed mode with the mouse jumping out of the game's focus despite showing the cursor still on the window. Significant bugs with basic engine features means this is a no.

Game seems so far very promising, im still new to the experience, but its so far a good indie horror game, and also very cheap, so worth the cash if you are a horror game fan.

I wanted to believe in this game, really I did. But I was let down so very bad by what the game offers out of the gate. "Partial Controller Support"? Nowhere to be found. Push a button on my wired 360 controller, character jumps. Push any other button, nothing happens. So there is clearly no controller support here (false advertising?). I don't see any button mappings for controllers, and no way to edit the key bindings. So either I play with mouse and keyboard, or I make do with one button.

Screen resolution is at a severe loss - game does not take into account that not everyone has a huge screen size. If I want to play at a resolution at anything close to my maximum resolution, I have to settle for black bars on the screen, which utterly kills the immersion one would expect from a game like this. Seems widescreens like mine don't get factored in. My top resolution is 1366x768, yet the only usable one is 1280x720 or 1024x768 - and those black bars. Oh, those black bars. The lack of widescreen support also kills the game for me.

The fact that I cannot launch the game before experiencing these problems leaves me wondering what else may be wrong with it - but I'm not willing to stick around and find out. I love horror games, even indie horror games, but this was a letdown out of the gate. Let's Play videos made this game look good, but unfortunately my first experiences (which have the biggest impact) were a huge letdown.

I'm sorry, but I just cannot recommend this game. Save your money for better horror games out there.
