What is it?
Leadwerks Game Launcher is a platform to play games made by people, such as myself, using the Leadwerks Game Engine (which is also available on Steam). No external software is required - it's all handled by the launcher and Steam. Find a game you like the looks of, click 'Launch' and it'll download the files and start up once it's ready.

What games are there?
Lots! The best thing about Leadwerks Game Launcher is that it enables you to play anyones' creations that they've made with Leadwerks Game Engine. Keep in mind, however, that these games include titles made by complete beginners to those made by people with considerable more experience. Some of the games are demos, some are prototypes, and some are proof of concept. In any case, there is a description within each game by the author so you know what to expect... mostly!

Of what quality are the games?
They differ. As above, they're made by people of all different abilities and experiences. Some are quite rough around the edges - and that's part of the charm. These are not AAA games (yet!) but you never know what might happen.

What does it cost?
Absolutely nothing. And that's a really nice thing. No harm in trying it out!

Can I talk/suggest things to the devs?
Yep, sure can. You can leave comments for the games on the Steam Workshop pages!

What games did you make?
Ok, shamless plug here: Despair of Ordinary Men, Dungeon Creeper, AstroTrack, Wolftale, Piano Simulator 2016, House

Leadwerks Game Launcher lets you play a selection of rough, indie, minigames. There are a variety of games and it has Steam workshop support to upload and download new Leadwerks games. Overall its a handy tool if you are interested in Leadwerks games but does not have much use otherwise.

Its a shame it wont run any of the games on a laptop that can play cs:go fine, i get it i need better graphics.
You really need to add graphics settings to it at least, not just resolution and full screen, so i can try the games even if they have frame drops.
My first impression of this software is like running halo ce on intel graphics all over again, it wont launch even tho the system can play it.

Review will get updated when i can try the games out.

In all respects my review is netral 50/50
I will have to try it on my pc.

I hope this software will be a game changer. :meaty:

If you're looking for a review you've come to the wrong place, if you're here to cook a pie then read on !
Napoleon from the final puff pastry
You will need:
Ready flaky pastry - 1.5 kg five eggs Flour - 150 g> Sugar - 400 grams Milk - 1200 ml Vanilla sugar - 1 n. Cognac - 1 tbsp. l. Shelled walnuts - glass sequence of preparation: dough defrost naturally at room temperature (defrost time indicated on the package). Cook the custard: grind the egg yolks with a mixer or a whisk to a conventional incandescent and vanilla sugar, flour and brandy to enter the mix. The mixture pour a trickle of milk, stir and cook, stirring constantly. Divide the dough into the desired number of pieces that will later Korzh. Roll out each piece on a board sprinkled with flour. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes until golden color on a dry baking temperature of 200 degrees. Fluff the cooled cream cakes. If desired, each layer sprinkled with chopped nuts. On top of the cake lightly press smeared with cream and sprinkle all sides crumbs. Add layer cake in a cool place overnight.

Decided to make a review because I have uploaded games there
Well- first off you can say this is a good thing.
Imagine being a Leadwerks Game developer and trying to get downloads by putting your game on websites.
I will tell you that: You get noone to play your game.
The reasons for that are :
Users have a bad experience with random Game downloads : Advertisements, compatibility, Malware etc.
With Leadwerks Game player you can always be sure that you get what you want if you downlaod and nothing else.
I for example got 30 Downloads with a game that I made in 5 hours : Slastraf Horror 2 (check it out:P)
The best thing is that this is for free and I mean really for free.
There is noone who wants to make you watch advertisements, as same as Mining for your data like facebook
(thats what usual free to play applications and sites do )

So lets get to the game player itself
Good things are:
Fast downloads, ( as same as joining on a gmod server : Max.2 minutes)
Free to play Indie games,
Communication with the devs , as well as spreading the game over the Steam store,
that leads to easier green light on Steam greenlight and it doesnt even stop there.
Updating and uploading your leadwerks game fast and successful.

Bad things:
You dont get Games compareable to LoL or Cs:GO,
BUT
you get games that are made of single people who have a hobby and like what they are doing.
AND
Help those people getting some attention for their games, and just looking at this fact I would definetly try the launcher

Leadwerks Game Launcher is the best thing I've seen today (considering the price - FREE!) Sort of a mini-Kongregate, but without advertising, a huge plus. And it takes scant minutes to download the launcher. (Basically a weblink.)

Currently there are about three dozen games of many types. The claim is that there will be a constant stream of new material over time. Understand that most (if not all) are a bit rough, but that's part of the charm (and all of the "free".) One DEV reports on his "frist(sic) game". Still, for the player on a budget, or just anxious to see lots of small, short-attention-span games, this is nice enough.

Unfortunately, the games are played through Steam, but from a website. While the first play of each game takes a long time to prepare and download files, they can still only be played online.

A simple, clean game launcher that gives you access to free games made by indie devs. Some of the games are mini games and others are prototypes or work in progress. You can give feedback direct to the devs through each games workshop page and help shape the games development.

Great idea, get to play some early prototypes or complete mini games for free.

The fact that its through steam so you are not downloading any old file is great.

You can also get in touch with the develpers of these games and help them with ideas and bug reports. You never know your idea might appear in the next best seliing game.

I'm definitely not going to fault the intentions of Leadwerks, no matter how ridiculously basic a lot of the games on there are. An indie platform that works and promotes its developers through Steam can only be a positive thing and at the low, low price of nothing, there's really no excuse not to add this to your collection if you're into the kind of zero budget curiosities that itch.io and Gamejolt offer up.

There are a variety of interesting games and while they may not be as pretty or polished as the more popular indie games they do contain some unique ideas and concepts.
It also helps leadwerks developers, like me, by getting people to play and test their games.

Pros -

Free Games
Easy to Use - works with steam workshop subscribe system.
Can take Steam Screenshots
Helps Leadwerks Game Developers
Video Resolution and Full Screen Options built into the Game Player.

Cons -

Loading Times can be an issue depending on the size of the game you are subscribing to. Make sure to check the size of the game on steam before launching the game from the player.

Notable -

Games Update Automatically whenever the game is updated by the games developer and I am not sure if you are able to control this.
Game Quality can be questionable since there are some incomplete/work in progress games as well as demos.
