What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access is a great way for us to continue expanding RUMP! and its content as well as the community around the game. We're developing RUMP! for over a year now and we're excited to hear what people have to say - so we can continue polishing, refining mechanics and adding new content to the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're aiming to have a wide variety of content, so our intention is to remain in Early Access until the game contains enough levels and customization gear to warrant a full release. This will vary based on the scope of upcoming changes, but our estimate is to release the full game in mid 2016.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“RUMP! already has a decent set of features - but we want it to have MORE! Aside of several Single- and Multiplayer Levels / Maps we're really into Character Customization, so you can wear your newly unlocked classy or funny hat in the next match.

  • About 50 Levels / Maps for the first Singleplayer setting.
  • Both Story-Mode and Timeattack for all Singleplayer-Maps, so you can either play immersively and solve puzzles and riddles, track down and collect things plus fight the stage bosses - or just go for the fastest way possible and compete on the online highscores with other players.
  • Numerous additional Multiplayer Maps with distinctive mechanics.
  • ELO-based matchmaking for challenging Multiplayer competition.
  • Lots of additional traps and weapons for both Single- and Multiplayer.
  • Observer Mode for viewing and casting Multiplayer sessions.
  • Additional playable main Characters.
  • Skins, Capes and Hats for your personal Character Customization.
  • A Hardcore Mode with passages and traps that'll make you flip your table.
  • Steam Achievements and Statistics.

And even if we're done with this: additional Settings will mean a lot of additional Levels. Imagine rumping around in Space, in the Jungle, under Water - or whatever you, the community, comes up with!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We already have a set of Levels from our Alpha and Beta development stages, where we create and test our environments and gameplay elements. Aside of the Singleplayer Campaign we'll likely create more of them, since we want to test our things, and you get to play more of those unconnected maps, where you can hunt down the online highscores independently.

The Multiplayer features several tiered weapons and levels with different mechanics. Aside of the unranked matches with free lobby creation and friend invitation we also have a light version of our ranked matchmaking.

Additionally we're introducing the first maps for the Singleplayer Campaign, for which we'll deploy more in the coming time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the final version will likely increase due to the additional new content and features added during Early Access development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are already engaging with the community in the Steam Forums and also during Live Streams, where we either play together or develop new maps and content. Facebook and Twitter are common media for us, so it's easy to drop us some feedback there as well.

We'll be actively checking for bug reports and general feedback, like weapon balancing or map improvements.”

RUMP! Build #4720 - Racemap, Controllers, Evil Hooks, lots of improvements!

The forge has been working relentlessly - almost 300 serious commits later we've got todays new public build!

  • A new map: Roundhouse Kicks, a race mode turnaround with various shortcuts and options. Fast paced with quick rounds this map invites you to have a 10+ round matchup with your friends!
  • Improved controller support: thumbsticks are now rebindable to pretty much everything, including strafe movement. Also the scale of how much you are moving the thumbsticks is now being considered. Close to full controller support, only navigation / menues are left - and these are already on the roadmap. Couch, here we come!
  • Greatly improved the hook reliability by using staged sphere tracers. Try it, really! Hold left mouse, aim for your enemy, jump into emptyness, release button. If your aiming and tracking is right, you'll pull him into death - while gaining his previous advance. *insert gloating laughter here*
  • Updated the deathmatch maps to feature the improved winnerscreen. Show off your skins and hats!
  • Improved the draggability of the singleplayer map. Scales to current zoom level.
  • You may now spin your character in the customization options by using your mouse instead of the old slider.
  • Improved the Orbital Laser so it has a better targeting, since players tend to "dodge" it by just stopping and letting someone else pass, thus him becoming first placed and the new target.
  • Pulled back the "Road Rage" race map to the workshop because some cars and roads need a bit of rework.
  • Fixed syringe and godmode not blinking correctly.
  • Fixed spike replication so it has the same correct state for everyone.
  • Fixed the unlock board sometimes not disappearing.
  • Fixed deathmatch restart errors.
  • Fixed the race countdown not always been shown.
  • Fixed something else.
  • Applied lotsa more LOVE™ here and there.

That being said: enjoy the weekend and some serious rumpage! :)

Hotfix #4426b Steam Cache Issues

If downloading the current hotfix did not solve the "Leap Motion Controller" plugin issue for you we sadly have to have you get a full redownload.

Our user Buggl couldn't fix the issue by download the update itself, but by deleting his local game content and then redownloading the game easily.

In order to do this, if this issue affects you: right click RUMP! in your library and directly choose "Delete Local Content" or go to the game properties and choose to delete the contents from there. Redownload a fresh copy and you should be as fine as Buggl is now.

This download ain't much bigger than the patch, since neither the Engine nor the Steam Pipe could detect our rather small changes, but created a rather unusual large update. Sorry for the size to low bandwith users.

Very fun game if you have more then 2 players for deathmatch mode. Even though 1v1 can be fun aswel but pretty much require both "skilled" players in terms of movement and aiming. I'm playing with my wife RACE mods, it's fun, pretty challenging once when we both learn maps so only second or two is deciding winner.

Other then that it's obvious that game is in early stage where many bugs occurs, multiplayer is not that "alive" so I couldn't find even one server to play alone.

I wish that there are more maps in RACE mode, perhaps leaderboard and ghost for trial runs so solo players can challenge theirself including fighting for leaderboards since there are many shortcuts in some maps. RNG box's to collect and get power-ups is always fun for me since I'm enormous fan of Crash Team Racing and even though it's fast running instead driving it's cool (keep on mind I'm not even considering to compare those titles).

All in all if you have atleast one or even more friends to play with, solid fun. Hopefully they add more content.

I can see that the developers have put a lot of effort into this. It is good to see such detailed maps. Personally, the single player is not really my game, but the mulitplayers looks very interessting.

And lets be honest here, love the fact that I can jump without arms and legs :D The abs these toons must have!
