“I really enjoyed my time with Goats on a Bridge. The characters are great and super cute.”

About This Game

Three goats. Two bridges. One corgi. Zero margin of error.

Goats on a Bridge adapts the classic Norwegian fairy tale, Three Billy Goats Gruff, as an inventive new platformer that has players controlling not one, but two goats at the same time. That’s twice the capra-control of Goat Simulator! Sadly, this has the makings of a tragic tale.

Tempo and Chubbs’ poor brother has been abducted by an evil troll, and it’s down to you to direct the pair as they jump, dodge and roll their way across a series of hazardous bridges to track down their lost sibling. There’ll be bizarre collectibles, accessory-selling amphibians and even an energetic corgi to help you on your adventures. Just be sure not to let your four-legged friends plummet into the water. That’d really get their goat.

  • 2 Different Game Modes

The challenge of controlling two goats at once is driving me nuts, in a good way. The control "feel" is spot on. It just works. If you fail, you know it's your own fault. So guess what, if you're anything like me, you go back and try again.. and again. Most times getting a little bit further than before (unless you get too ♥♥♥♥-sure of yourself on the early bits, and fail)
I've now decided that failing is good. As long as it's with Goats!

First Goat clearled level easily,
Second Goat followed
Co-ordinating 2 goats thorugh the next level, saw one had to duck while the other needed to jump.
Did the exact opposite
One Goat knocked out cold, the other swimming for safety
Nearly fell off my chair laughing

I played this when it was in the IndieGame competition.
Can certainly say that the developers have put a lot of effort into making it better, packed with more new content too!

Still cute as ever! 10/10!
Great work!

Goats on a Bridge is a cartoon styled runner game based on the Billy Goat Gruff fairy story. If you like the runner genre, where you have to get from A to B avoiding various obstacles, and picking up various objects that can be crafted into wearable equipment such as helments to customise your two characters, you'll probably like this. The game is still in early access, so hopefully we will see additional content added over the coming months, altohugh I reckon the dev's have already given us quite alot to be going on with. Apart from the main story mode there's a dash mode which has to be unlocked by playing the story mode; the dash mode is procedurally generated which means no two attempts will be the same.

This is definitely a game where you need to use a controller because you have to control both goats (Chubb and Tempo) at the same time. It is possible with the keyboard if you are very adept, but I found it almost impossible with the current key bindings for both goats. I do hope the dev's include the ability to change the key bindings in future updates before this game is fully released as I prefer using the keyboard to contoller. That said, i still enjoyed playing this game and will be keeping an eye on its further development. For an earel;y access game, this is very playable.

Ok so about this game

Dont mistake it for " Oh another Goat game on steam .. you'v gone low " No, the game is nothing like that.
I had a lot of fun playing this with my 15 year old Niece, its cute and challenging and very entertaining.
The goal is to reach the end of the level without hitting anything or falling down, simple enough.

The good
+Very colorful design and a lot of cute items to purchase and equip to your characters to make them look even better.
+A lot of fun to play with a friend or a son if you're old enough, good fun for the family.
+Hilarious story, dialogues and soundtracks.
+Challenging levels and endless mode to see how far you can go.

The Baaad
Get it ? cuz its a game about goats .... nvm.
- I am sad to say this but it only has 10 levels .... yeah the endless mode is good but come ON 10 levels ? around 40 minutes to finish the game.
- You can't play the game alone because you start with 2 goats unless if you're some kind of a genius that can do it alone, you'd need another player next to you.
- It gets a bit annoying that if someone falls you restart the game but you get used to it I suppose.

So Its a nice game to play with a friend but I suggest playing it with your kid or whatever since most adults would find this game annoying and dumb.

Basically a great game if it had more levels.

Also they did not include " local coop " In store page so their intentions was for someone to play it alone ? Thats dumb...

Goats On a Bridge is a very simple game in the aspect of, you are trying to get to the end of the bridge. How do you do that? By running, jumping, and sliding. Sounds easy enough right? HA, this game is actually pretty challenging. Its actually quite enjoyable the short time you play it.

-Too difficult for little kids
-Can get "old"
-Basically a local Co-op only game

Usually I am really bad at this type of game; easily get rekted and raged with the game at times.

I am one of the early development testers of this game. I am so happy for the team (My friend and her team, from Singapore, develop this -- "Goats On A Bridge" as their FIRST game) who had their dream came true and won the IndieGame Competition with a Judge Award, and then released this game on Steam for PC and Mobile Platforms (iOS and Android).

It needs some "skills" and get yourself to get used to the controls on 2 goats with your both hands. I am not sure why I want to keep on playing to get myself irritated... and yet it's so addictive!

In my first impression, I love the cuteness and fluffiness of these goats once the team introduced this to me back then.

I would like to recommend this out those people who love to play casual games and cute stuff. Not forgetting the people like who easily get raged -- also love this game because it is sooooooooo ADDICTIVE, (relating to Flappy Bird)!

Game can get fustrating, but thats a good thing means I'm actually playing the game and not doing it for me.

The dual control system is nice, works well and using an Xbox 1 controller and just works fine with the preset mapping and no need to configure it, you take control of each goat and watch them die many many times, at this point there is no more Sympathy to be had here in their bleeting moments.

Game looks very polished and works right out of the box for me, I do enjoy challanging games, dont let the aethestics fool you, its far from a cute game, its punishing more then most games out there.

If anyone plays games from the touhou series, its that level of fustration that can get to you.

Personally give this game a try, very few games and I can only think of one that even plays like this, its nice to see more innovation in games that lets us play games in a more interesting way rather.

I can say with confidence that this is the best goat game I have played to date, and Ive played a lot. While it lacks the compelling storyline one might find in other goat titles such as Goat Simulator and Escape Goat 2. I believe it more than makes up for this omission by touching the hearts and souls of every player with its stellar puzzles.

This game hurts my brain, and that is a good thing. Its always good to go out and exercise your body, and I actually feel like this exercises my mind in a sense. Controlling one goat with each side of a controller is very difficult, but in a good way. This game is frustrating, hilarious, and fun! My only issue with it is that the music is a bit repetitive, but that's easily fixed with a mute button. Do yourself a favor and play with a 360 controller. So what are you waiting for? Grab a controller and rip your hair out! It's fun! -PR0XIDIAN

This game is adorable, goofy fun. I suffer from some intermittent neurologic issues that makes it so that I sometimes have trouble using my left and right hands to do things at the same time, which is frustrating for someone who was once ambidextrous--and this game is great practice for overcoming that. The difference between where I was two hours ago and where I am now making my characters hop over and scoot under things is neat. This is a simple little game that is a great way to blow off some steam.

Edit: I am playing with a keyboard, not controller. I suspect its more fun and challenging this way.

Leaves you wondering: why and when did I buy this?

Only recommending it if it's on special and you really have nothing else to play/spend your money on

Pretty complex controls, especially one player on the keyboard, everything was good until the 'troll was stomping' and the tiles were falling away; then you have no chance of finishing the level.

Also doesn't make sense that one of the generic sayings the main sheep says is 'hurry up Chubbs' even if Chubbs is ahead or finished the level already...

Maybe better with someone else.
Maybe better with a controller instead of a keyboard

Wouldn't know, I tried to look at a hat in the store, zoomed in and it was about 20x bigger than it should have been, becoming a tent over the sheep (I have a screenshot uploaded), and I was then unable to exit the zoom mode and continue playing

1. This is sort of a two player co-op game where you rage and hate your partner every step of the way. Only in this case, the devs make you be your own partner.

2. The devs are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s.

3. I hate myself.

4. This is seriously addictive and fun. It divides your brain and half and it feels weird and somehow makes you want your brain want your brain to feel like that even more.

5. The controls are pretty solid. I like using an Xbox controller better than the keyboard controls but keyboard controls had one advantage which was that it was much harder to accidentally go on a diagonal.

6. Graphics are bright and cute as is the music but this in no way alleviates the rage you feel when you get your hands mixed up and the one half of your brain goes to the wrong side of your head and left becomes right and right is wrong.

7. You can bump resolutions on this game all the way up to 4k and it actually makes it look a lot more clean and nice. The downside of this is the text boxes get all small and you can't read them.

8. You can't read them when you are playing anyway because you are too busy trying to figure out why the goat on the right is on the left and why when there's only one goat left, you lose.

9. I still feel cross-eyed twenty minutes after my last session but my eyes are straight as arrows. It is my brain that is crossed.

10. There are equipment upgrades but I never could quite figure out if they were only cosmetic.

11. The camera angle in this is kinda wonky by design. You are supposed to take two goats simultaneously at the same or similar rate of speed down their own individual bridges. If you get them too far apart--which is easier but not what you're supposed to do--the camera angle gets a bit too wide to see what's going on. This encourages you to play the more challenging way by making the more challenging way less challenging than the less challenging way.

12. This is the devs' first game, which they kind of wear on their sleeve a bit. It is a pretty well polished game in my opinion but there are a few things that irritated me here and there. After landing a jump or sliding under an obstacle, it seemed to take a metric hair too long to be able to jump or slide under an obstacle again. Sometimes the wonky camera angle by design seems to be a little wonky not by design. Also there are a few blind sections which seem to be there intentionally but feel unnecessary given this is a pretty hard game otherwise.

13. Holy crap, I have never played a game that infected my dreams w/ weird psychic gameplay remnants in shorter sessions than this. It is basically a legal kind of drug where you pay good money to be feel very confused and yell all your best curse words for reasons those around you do not understand.

The game will not register multiple inputs from a signal devise so I could not use my left and right thumb sticks at the same time to control both goats. It also recognizes two controller as the same devise so your local co-op friend can accidentally move you.

Solution was to remove all controller based controls from one goat and and force it to be keyboard only, for local co op. Or make both goats keyboard for signal player. The fact I cant use a controller for this casual game ruined the game for me. Which is sad because I feel it could be easily fixed by adding a signal goat mode, or fixing the input detection.
