Version 1.2.7 - Easter Update

A new version of cubic castles was uploaded yesterday.

This version has Donation Tables and Mannequins added, as well as an Easter egg hunt. More content around the corner too.

The Legend of BunnyZilla

Folklore holds that every year, just before Easter, mysterious colored eggs appear all through the land of the Qbees. No one knows who hides them, or why. Some Scholars of the Egg even believe they are placed by the Almighty Cube itself!

What is known is that the eggs, innocuous in themselves, are imbued with a strange energy known as the “bunny force.” If ignored, the eggs evaporate in a few days, dissipating the magic.

But, if they are collected in large quantities, the “bunny force” builds to a cataclysmic crescendo, summoning the titanic and mythical BunnyZilla to the worlds of Cubic Castles!

Top Qbee academics estimate that it would take anywhere from 100,000 - 250,000 harvested eggs to call BunnyZilla forth from the void.

While no one can say for sure, it is said that to see BunnyZilla is a great omen of good luck, sure to bring riches to anyone fortunate enough to see him!

I started the game with high hopes.... Sadly it all went down hill.
My biggest complaint?
You can not make doors. you need to buy them.. With REAL MONEY.. or play enough to earn the money. That takes forever. I only had 18( of the in game money) after three hours. Doors cost about 250.
Anyone can come into your place and take your things unless the chest or a door is locked.
I was working at my bench and someone came in, took the things from my bench and left.
You also need to make walls 5+ High. They can be double jumped over so a small wall will not protect your things.

Want to lock that chest or door? You need to buy an item to lock it.( you do start with one)
You can just lock your realm.. but what is the point in building nice things if no one will see it.

The cost of items in the shop is CRAZY... For the lazy you can buy everything that can be made or gathered in the shop
(from what I could see). No need to grab all that dirt when you can buy it.

You want to make a new chest? You need to level. There is a chance you can learn how to do carpentry when you do.. Even then you need to learn how to use a hammer.. that also is random from leveling. I was level 5 and I never once had the chance to learn it. I had a full chest and no way to make another.

You also can not just start over. There seems to be no way to delete an account. After learning how to play.. I made another account because I could not delete the one I had. That also meant a new username. I was locked out of my account for forgetting my password and not being able to log in with my other name Because " it was taken". Yes. it was taken, BY ME...

I really wanted to like the game, The deed decay ( It will remove your land from the game world if you are gone for too long), camera, the crashing along with everything else I have said was enough to have me uninstall.

On a side note. I do understand the deed decay.. Many people will play once but never go back. But I should not have to log in all the time in fear of losing my spot.

If you are going on to see a friends place or you just want to check it out, I say do so! Some of the things people have made is awesome.
If you want to just play.. You better have some cash.

Read all this? you get a cookie.

Why are you looking in the positive reviews, this game is utter horse ♥♥♥♥.
EDIT: I just read the description. You DO NOT make paying money for things a "Feature." Just make the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game cost money and no in game purchases.

So in all, this game can be considered superman 64 and bubsy 3D's baby, who had a baby with Sonic boom and every CDI game, and that Babies great great great great great grandson.

This game is free, technically. When I say that, I mean you get a tiny plot of land. From that you can gather a small amount of resources. You can also head over to the mines to gather some more resources. I do believe these regen, how often, I am unsure. The tutorial is bad, because it tells you how to move, use an anvil (Basic Crafting Station), and place/break blocks. It doesn't actually let you place/break blocks, because the tutorial is part of the spawn area, and they don't want greifing. There is no single-player, so on trips where you can't have internet, this is unplayable. It tells you nothing about crafting recipes, except that objects have a little tooltip saying if it's in crafting recipe. Some may call it discovery, I call it a lack of wiki. At least, I haven't found one yet. There is one currency, which is cubits. You rarely get them from mining resources, but everything is very expensive, so you'll have to pay up some cash to get anywhere quickly. After a while, I can see this game becoming a relatively good game, but I would wait for that, because it's a looong way off. It is small though, so there's no real punishment for downloading it. Only 25 MB. I hope this review helps you.

A pay to win game which is nearly pay to play. Yes, you have some kind of mines where you can gather resources to build with, but you are very limited if you don't pay anything. There are a lot of bugs - such as traps that are very hard to escape (beware when joining others' realms) and sometimes the game just randomly becomes super laggy and crashes afterwards.

This game is only fun for the first 20 minutes, therefore I cannot recommend it.

Oh yeah, the camera made me throw up.

Summary of the game:
Minecraft online or crafting/building/social game

The game isn't pay to win.
The community is extremely friendly.
It’s fun and easy.
It is crossed platform. Android, IOS and pc users are supported. You can play everywhere, yay!

Controls are horrible. (You can get used to it)
You need a cash register to trade. (It takes 5 hours or lesser to get them)

You can travel to different terrains around the cubic world, for you to get resources, so you can craft and build at your realm, you can also travel to players realms for you to make friends, play their adventure maps or enjoy their creative builds.

First of all, you can get everything at the game if you are willing to grind.

2nd, it isn’t hard to get cubits. I get 50 cubits from daily quests; I sell resources or cosmetics (I have a store). I always sell 1000 stones for 200 cubits. For players who don’t have the right perks, they can get 1000 stones for an hour, but for players who have the right perks, they can get 1000 stones in less than 30-15 minutes. (IT ISNT THAT GRINDY AND ITS SOOO EASY TO GET CUBITS)

3rd, doors don’t exist in the game. They thought that the ''DoorWays'' at the cubit store are doors, but they aren't. They are 2 portals connected at each other, which is why they cost 350 cubits.

The game has been updated, you now don't need sentry’s to lock you’re chests, forges, extractors, distillers and etc. Only players who have access in the realm will be able to open them or use them. There is now a cash register to trade.

Q: Why is the game not pay to win?

A: Getting resources, crafting and building is so easy and they aren't grindy. The grindiest part is getting cubits which are the only currency at the game (They aren't really hard to get). They are used to buy building blocks or cosmetic items at the cubit store. The cosmetic does not give any unfair advantages to players even though you are using the rarest cosmetic items at the game. The building blocks at the cubits store is quite useless to buy, you can get them so easily. People make shops and then sell them about 50-80% off because they know that getting them isn't hard, but extremely easy. You can craft the hardest item in the game in less than 15-30 minutes and the best part, YOU CAN GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT IF YOU ARE WILLING TO GRIND.

Q: You’re just saying this review because we know you have bought cubits with real cash which is why you are enjoying the game. Did you?

A: I never spent a single coin at this game.

(I hope i helped you ^_^)

Well, first of all I've got 650+ hours on the game, so I'm pretty experienced to say the least, giving me the right to give an honest review.

This game is somewhat minecraft based, having to craft a majority of items. While also interacting with other players in order to trade goods, or recieve them. There is an ingame currency, however it can also be earnt, and with the right knowledge, you can earn it easily with a marketing eye. For instance, I have a friend who has NEVER brought cubits (ingame currency), and yet always seems to have more than me; Of which, I buy the cubits.

Great support- With that said, I have sent plenty of reports in. They are answered fairy fast, usually in less than 2 days depending on how busy they are with tickets.

Friendly players- A lot of the players are friendly, willing to help newbies settle in, and even build if necessary. I personally love to help new players, and will donate them a few hats, and wings depending on how many I have in stock/and or spare. I'll ask if they need any help, and try my best to fill in that request. Many other players put themselves out there to do the same.

Events- There are plenty of events that take place within the game, although there is a forum to keep up to date with this, as well as a facebook page, ect. Easter, Halloween, and Christmas are what I've seen so far. It's nice to know that the devs go out of there way to make it just that much more interesting. Some of the events include free /limited/ hats, if you're lucky enough to catch the person giving them.

Updates- The moment a bug is spotted, and reported in, it is soon after fixed. Updates are frequent, and the game tends to run smoothly (depending on your internet strength).

Difficulty- When you start the game, you have no perks. (perks are basically abilites you get with levelling up, making gameplay more fun) and so it takes longer to do stuff, such as mining very slowing and not being able to jump very high makes parkour difficult.

Based on the 60+ hours play time, here's what I think about the game:

+ Graphic are cute, and there's lots of costume to make your bald white character look nicer lol.
+ There's skill (known as perk) to help your character do much more better and faster in this game.
+ Crafting is quite enjoyable and challenging. It's not really that simple, but not that complex either.
+ Getting resource is so damn easy here (compared to other sandbox game I played).
+ PVP is somewhat funny, not all serious and scary :D I lol-ed so hard when my friend using the shrink-wand on me.
+ Getting to other's people realm is easy (unless they lock the realm or it's only accessible for friend only). So when you got bored you can explore other people homes.

- Camera is really..quite an annoying issue in this game. Even though you can unlock camera for "better" view of the world, it still quite uncomfortable.
- The no-cancel action. Like you mistakenly click for the wrong block. And there's really no way to cancel that action, not even moving your character can cancel it (unless you do the wrong click far away from your character).
- The perks have it's disadvantages tool. Each time you level up, you get a chance to pick 1 of the 3 random skill the system give you. Some tools needs certain skill so that you can use it to make items, and you will suffer a lot if you choose the less-important one (since leveling up become harder once you're pass 15 or maybe 20).
- The player(s) can be quite amazingly annoying sometimes. I'm not saying all players are like that. But really, some of them love to use caps lock so much it hurts, or try to scam using the old piggy tip method, or begging like their life really depends so much on your pity, and some of them doesn't even understand the word "no". And that's what I encounter on daily basis while I play the game.
-The quest. I'm aware that this a free-to-play game with a slice of Micro-transaction, but really, after you have done the basic quest, in order to get more quest you have to buy it with cubits. And there's only 2 quest in store, which one of them cost like 2000 cubits. It might be wiser to just make the quest equal to all paying player and the non-paying player.

I quiet enjoy the time I spent in this game, but that's because I have my friends also playing this game with me. On the other hand I also feel the game is quite boring due to lack of quest and the annoying player (and also that awkward camera...).

And the stress only got worse if you decide to play without using real money to buy the glorious cubits (because you need a lot of those to even craft some important item like doors, key (for personal/friend/or password-protect), cash register (to safely trade with your friends), etc.

Things people need to learn:
1. Indie does not equal good.
2. Everyone hates In-game currencies that you buy with real money.
3. Crappy ports of ios games aren't good for steam

This game is AWESOME.

Ok, before I delve into any more detail, this game is NOT A MINECRAFT RIPOFF. There are a lot of people that are trying to capitallize on Minecraft's success(Believe me, I've seen my fair share on iOS and Android), but this is not one of them. This game's relation to Minecraft(Hereon referred to as MC) is like Unturned's relation to MC: Possibly inspired and similar with blocks and vector-based graphics. JUST BECAUSE A GAME HAS THOSE THINGS DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT IS A MC RIPOFF.
Now that I've got that out of the way, here is my opinion.

This game is like the Mario game series had a child with Minecraft, with Terraria as the godfather, with some awesome F2P buisiness strategy thrown in. It has a focus on platforming and building alike. Now, the F2P buisiness strategy. It is a fantastic model, where you can earn the in-game currency named Cubits through several methods. One, of course, is getting them with real money. Cubits(Often abbriviated to C or c, and will be referred to as CB from hereon) will also occasionally pop up when breaking a block. You can also earn them by doing quests or selling things. Yes, this game has a alive and THRIVING player economy. You can obtain blocks one of 3 ways: Mining them in the mines sprinkled generously around the HUUUUUGE map, buying them with CB(You can buy pretty much every block in the game in the store, as well as a few exclusive blocks) or buying them from another player. You can also complete offers on mobile to get CB. "Wait, what!?!?", I hear you asking. Why yes, the game is also availible on iOS and Android as well. The best part is that you can be playing on the computer, have to go on a trip somwhere, and you can pick up and play the game from where you left off on the computer. That is the icing on the dessert known as the Churpumple: A pie inside of a cake that is a dessert that is sometimes made in my family, but that's beside the point. Refer to the simple chart below for a TL;DR version and my dislikes:

-Awesome focus on platforming and building
-Epic, thriving in-game economy
-Many ways to earn in-game currency
-Only 1 currency, no gems or tickets or super coins or anything like that
-SOOO fun to play
-You can play on iOS and Android from where you left off on the computer
-You have to buy sentries to keep your rooms(Mini-realms that can be put in your realm) safe
-Getting blocks can be really time-consuming
-Hollas, game-wide broadcasts made by players, can be really annoying
-Quests can be as simple as mining 16 blocks of sand or as hard as doing hard parkour
-You need perks to do basically anything in this game, which means you'll have to pick between emotes appearing on your person's face, be able to have 1 more row of items in your inventory without your person slowing to a crawl, or the abillity to use a saw to craft
-Realms decay over time and dissapear(They get put directly back into your inventory though. (Thanks for pointing that out, BJDware!))

Very good in-game purchase system, not forcing you to pay to win. There isn't a premium membership that costs 10 bucks per month or anything, so it's awesome. Thriving in-game community and economy. Also, may I throw in that you can harvest liquids without any machines and liquids don't flow?(Not saying I WANT to have machines to harvest liquid, but it is kinda wierd)

Decision: Take all of this and put it DIRECTLY into my Steam account.

I can honestly say this is one of the cutest games I've been able to play. For those that are hesitant to play because of all the negative reviews this game is getting, let me start off by saying this game is either one you'll love or one that you won't fully agree with. With that in mind:

Yes, there is in an in-game currency which you can buy with real money, but it can be earned in the game easily. You get a minimum of 50 a day just for doing a daily quest. You can get hundreds more from the ground by mining, and get thousands if you successfully sell what you mine up.

When you start the game, you land in the Tutorial Realm. After you leave that you'll be given a free starter realm which you can build inside of. This is bassically your home until you get another realm with the money you earn.

This game is heavily community-driven. Events are usually held by other players, such as PvP tournaments and large giveaways, but there are special holiday events held by the Administrators. The more friends you make in-game, the more fun you're likely to have whilst playing.

I won't lie, the camera angles take a little while to get used to if you're transitioning from another game like Minecraft, but the angels were "unlocked" recently to allow a greater area that the camera can pan around. This game has changed a lot in the few months since its release on Steam. For those with the patience to see where it goes from here, I'm sure it won't disapoint.

A very fun game where you create your own world. Get what you need in the mines, and then build what you want in your realm. You can craft lots of things, and get cubits from mining to spend on premium items in the cubit store. You could set up your own shop, or create a feindish parkour course, or just socialize with your friends while mining to your hearts content. It is a free game, but be warned, it has microtransactions, but if you like a game, isn't it best to support the devs to keep it going?

Cubic Castles is a voxel building game conceptually similar to Minecraft and others of the genre. I like Cubic Castles for several reasons, which I'll outline below, but in broad strokes it's easy to learn, easy to play, and there is a very pleasant community within the game, here on Steam, and on the official forums for the game.

Very polished look. The game looks wonderful, the blocks are crisp and colorful. The mining zones generate in a way that looks plausible and clean. It's easy to tell one kind of resource from another on the screen with different patterns, textures and colors that make each distinct.

Easy control - movement is basically the four cardinal directions along with single and double jumps. Camera angle and elevation control are easy.

Wide variety of craftable items - This is pretty self-explanatory, but if you play the game I recommend having a browser window open in the background leading to - it's a valuable resource the details how each item is built.

Community - the players tend to be very nice people. I've only encountered one really rude player so far, and I have a decent amount of hours invested. That's rare in any multi-player online game.

Lots to see and do - people build and maintain realms with all sorts of goodies. Some are shops, some are games or metagames, some have puzzles or obstacle courses (known in game as parkour areas, a great co-opting of the word.) People make hangout rooms and places just to see interesting things. Simply hopping from one realm to the next can be fun and also inspire new ideas on things to build.

Limited camera angle/not designed for first person view - That's a limitation that carries with it a very specific consequence: It makes it difficult to make multi-level structures that can be navigated easily. For example, I have built houses with two floors, and in order to make the first floor seen I have to make the second floor significantly higher in order for the third person view to allow others to see it. It would be nice to have a first person option, or total camera control, or both.

Limited chat function - generally the chat is limited to local players only. The game makes money in a few ways, one of which is selling "Hollas" which are essentially a global chat broadcast. This is a minor issue, as any game needs to make money to survive, and as revenue-generators go that is a very mild one. A readily available chat option to speak to online friends via a tell or direct message would be nice.

Occasional beggars - players frequently show up in one's realm begging for free stuff. That's not a flaw with the game directly, but as a community issue it is at least something to make note of. The positive item, however, is that you can easily kick-and-ban those pesky panhandlers.

It's a load of fun with a few issues that are more of a "hmmm" thing than a deal breaker. I recommend the game highly and hope to see you there.
