About This Game

Grab your friends, hone your blades, and set off for adventure in Trove, the ultimate action MMO! Battle the forces of Shadow in realms filled with incredible dungeons and items created by your fellow players. Whether hunting treasure in far-off lands or building realms of your own, it’s never been this good to be square!

Cubular Classes

Play as a Knight, Gunslinger, Ice Sage, Dracolyte, Pirate-with-a-parrot, or any (or all!) of the other Classes in Trove while mastering abilities from deadly ninja techniques to deliciously deadly ice cream crushes. Upgrade your gear to tackle epic challenges and strut your stuff with killer looks.

Infinite Realms

Explore through fully destructible realms on the backs of fire-breathing dragons and purrfectly whiskered Meownts. Jump into action tailored to any level as you conquer untamed wilds from the Treasure Isles to Candoria, home of the sweet-toothed Candy Barbarians.

Delve into Dungeons

Assemble a group of hardy cube-kind and crawl your way through huge dungeons unique to each realm. Brave deadly minions, bosses, and traps to “liberate” powerful armor and weapons, or dip into smaller Lairs for single servings of danger perfect for solo fun.

Get Rich with Loot

Rake in a shimmering hoard of treasure and collectible items from the deepest and darkest places in Trove. Load up on special gear, costumes, decorations, recipes, crafting ingredients, flying carpets, sea-faring ships, and dragons of mighty renown.

Build Your Home…

Cornerstones are personal homes you can build block by block, but they’re also mobile bases! Drop your Cornerstone at specially-marked plots in any world you’re visiting, and voilà: your hand-crafted home-away-from-home will appear, giving you a place to kick back, relax, and craft to your heart’s content.

Build a World…

What’s better than crafting alone? Building entire new Club Worlds with friends. Feel like making enormous geodesic domes in the desert? Magnificent castles in the sky? Do it – and land yourself in our list of the cubic masterpieces in Trove!

Build Anything in the Game!

Dragons? Check. Bacon swords? Yup. Rainbow-grade 3D glasses of insufferable doom? Just the tip of the iceberg! Collect a HUGE range gear made by your fellow players and make and submit your own items – including Dungeons, Lairs, Class Costumes, and more.

Plus

Music Blocks, Meownts, Fishing, Farming, Pets, Sailing (with Boats!), Flying (with Wings!), Mag Trains, Dance-Pads, Heroes, Villains, Allies (who might be Villains), Flasks, Bombs, Piñata Parties, and the Crafting of any and all Things.

After playing 138 hours I've decided to uninstall.
It's really not worth the timesink and grinding to get to end-game where the gameplay has already been super repetitive and boring for a long time. The game has a lot of carefully planned daily and weekly bonuses (cubits or shadow tower rewards) that kept me wasting hours to make progress when I already lost enjoyment playing the game. New classes cost real money or 95k+ flux on the market for a tradeable class coin. It took me most of my gameplay so far to earn enough flux to unlock another class, which some veteran players had already unlocked all classes back when they could be unlocked using cubits. Making another account to play other classes isn't helpful since that requires grinding all over again to acquire end-game gems for the new account, also not fun. And grinding to get 95k flux just to throw it away on a class that many veterans already have, it leaves a big sense of regret wasting that much time to get something so basic when there's things like gear that the flux would be better off spent on. Leveling new classes adds to Mastery Rank, so to hit Mastery 300 and get the dragon it requires a lot of time wasted on flux farming (perhaps 1000 hours or months of Shadow Towers). Even if some people could acquire enough class coins to unlock them all at a faster rate than that, it wouldn't be fun by then.
This might have been good as a standard purchased game without the blatant vampiric microtransaction system and the intentionally addictive daily and weekly events. It's not worth the addiction and eventual realization "I'm playing this everyday and I've really grown to hate it." There's just nothing fun about it anymore. It revolves around doing the same dungeons millions of times, mining the same ores millions of times, doing the same events and bosses. Higher end gameplay is simply enemies with higher damage and health. End-game bosses are the same as lower teir bosses but with higher damage and health, that means a 10-15 minute fight instead of 5 minutes. End-game equipment is where your weapons and helmet get rather shoddy graphical effects like flame or electricity or shadows. Fly for Fun did it better and players could get those weapon effects easily.
Anyway my review is simply that this game could have been a lot better but it became used for a money making system that is based a lot on gambling and wasting money for things that lots of other games give you for playing (for example Chaos Chests giving out items you can't acquire during normal gameplay). Also there's an optional monthly Patron thing but you're better off buying other games on Steam or eating good food with that money.

The easiest part of my decision to quit and also give this game a bad review is when I realized I played over 60 hours this week, didn't enjoy it, and wanted that time back.

It took me 20+ minutes to make an account and download the launcher and all that. Then I attempt to start the game. Doesn't start. It's not my computer's problem, it's the launcher. Aparrently their servers are down for some reason. Not wasting any more of my time on this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. I uninstalled it.

First of all I want to start of this review by saying that the people that give this game a negative review are wrong about the game being pay 2 play. Let me explain:

It is clear the game is free so already you dont need to pay to at least look at the game and see what its like.
You do need to pay for classes if you want to change but nevertheless the devs give u 3 CLASS COINS for your mastery and theres a reason for that, they introduce you to the game while you get your mastery up so you are sure on what class to get. And of course if you want additional classes you will need to pay LIKE ANY OTHER GAME.
The wings and mounts in the store can mostly be gotten from chests, but once again you can pay to ruin the fun of grinding for flux(game currency) and just buy it. So if you are complaining about everything that has a price tag on it get loot get flux and open chests then you'll have no problems.

And most importantly think about this:
You release a game that is completley free....and put no in game purchases? Whats the benfit of that. EVERYONE wants some fame out of what they make and nobody can complain about that, all of you should just be happy the game exists.

Last of all, all the extra chromosone butthurt people that complain about this game dont even play that much of it to understand it.

Thanks you.

Only reason why this game has any popularity is because Cubeworld isn't being developed anymore. Cubeworld is what Trove wants to be. But since you can no longer buy Cubeworld, I guess Trove is the only thing left.

Trove. The game with colors so bright, the old folks can't stare directly at it, while kids can't look away.
On the surface, this game seems fun and safe.
At its best, it is essentially what you would get if you simplified World of Warcraft, removed Tab targeting in favor of live action, turned all the graphics into pixel art, and dumbed down professions and combat so even the most dunderheaded of children can understand it.
Oh yeah, and with some Minecraft-esque gameplay thrown in for good measure.

Surprisingly, Trove was rather fun. I've certainly played it for more hours than is realistically advisable.
However, the developers have since decided that Trove wasn't making them enough money.
They ultimately decided this was because people were having too much fun for free, and decided to start squeezing the money (and subsequently the life) out of their playerbase. As many other players will tell you, Trion did not mask their intentions. They literally came out and said that. To players' faces.
New classes, which used to be purchasable with earnable currency suddenly cost cash. The grind to get good gear got steeper and steeper. Valuble items were crammed into high difficulty maps, to ensure only those that had paid money (or had sold their souls) could earn "flux." (Trove's primary trading currency.)

Like so many other players, I had high hopes for this game, but now, as the in-game population dwindles, and Trove's classification as a "massively multiplayer" RPG becomes more and more of a misnomer, I finally must face the facts. This game will join the rotting heap of games that Trion has ruined with its greed, and its ineptitude.
Because apparently, Trion learned nothing from Archeage.

Hey guys and girls :D

after reading a bunch of reviews with negativity and even lies i would like to clear up a few things and give an honnest report of this game from a long time players perspective (im dyslectic and english isent my first langue soo expect missspelings and bad grammar)

My overall rating of this game is a 8/10
this game offers you thousands of hours of gameplay
it engages its community in a friendly way with freebies evry friday on Twitch.tv
it lets you apply with contet to the game soo Yes! you can make items that appear in the game!
it has a super friendly community with a ton of helpful players!

i belive there is things that could be better
but i dont think Most of the reviews on this game are Fair

okey

soo i took some time answering some of the questions you might have after reading some of the other reviws on this game
________________________________________________________________________________
soo people say that this game is pay2win and that mounts and this and that costs real life money and you cant progress without spending money.

as far as i know the only thing in this game you cant get if you dont spend real money is the Extra Life Package (a CHARITY funding Pack) that will give you a Dragon

evrey other item you can get by earning ingame currency and buy on the ingame market. Even "patron" Premium status benefits for paying custommers that gives you Bonuses like in most F2p games

i spent over 600 hours in this game before i spent a single dollar on it, after that i bought the essentials pack got a few mounts i dident have and patron for 15 days whille having this patron i sold my chaos Chests (rewarded box for paying customers that gives you ingame mats and in very rare cases something cool) and farmed flux and bought myself more patron on the ingame market and been able to keep this rewards just by selling the Chaos chests evry day

today many hours later i am sitting in a core group of friend were most uf us are 14k power rank and up im the only one who baught an ingame pack for real money.
________________________________________________________________________________
does it cost money to get new classes?

No you have a 4 level trail of all the classes and you can obtain a new class with the FREE class coin you are awarded after leveling up abit (early in the game) and after that you can procede to buy the class coins in the ingame market if you Feel the need to have all Classes (Trionworlds have allso compensated players with free class coins when there game servers have messed up) tho there is an option to buy and unlock all classes with real money but its not a "have to" you could allso get a buddy and refeer a freind ech other and you will gen another class coin
________________________________________________________________________________
do i think this game is easy for new palyer?

No it takes time to get to the max level and it takes time to make "ingame money" but you know what? it does that in every other MMORPG. (however trion worlds make old contet easier to obtain evrytime soo that new players have to do less then the players who did it before them had to do)
that if something bothers me tbh :(

it is grindy and it takes time getting to the top and its honnestly what i love with this game!

myself im tierd of games that i spend 25 - 60 dollars on and i play and enjoy myself for a maximum of 100 hours!

I used to blow cash on World of Warcraft and evrytime i wanted something new i had a new max level character in 1 week off playtime .. a few days later im standing still waiting on resets to do more contet and make my character stronger..

this game is slow progress but its rewarding making the progress! and even at 15k power rank in this game theres soo much i can earn and spend time on obtaining! :D
________________________________________________________________________________
are there Updates and New content comeing out for this game?

Yes! and theres comeing new content and new updates pretty often!

some of these reviews that i read says that trion worlds just looking for money but if you ask me they do alot for a free to play game! alot more then other Devs do for their games! they even let players be apart of the games making letting players create and design ingame items,Dungeons, bosses and more

DISCLAIMER: Trion has banned me from the Trove forums for calling them out on porting this game to console and called it toxicity, they've also deleted all of my posts but that hasn't changed my opinon of the game.

A lot has changed since Trove came to Steam, some good, some bad and some that can go either way:

+/- Shadow towers replace shadow dungeons.

+/- In-game player store.

+/- The ability to drop items replaced with a "discard" button.

+/- A power rank system to give you a rough idea on how "good" your characters are.

- Alot of tradable items are no longer tradable such as dragon coins and souls.

- Shadow shards can only be aquired from shadow tower bosses.

- Classes are no longer obtainable with cubits, you can trial them though.

+ The club world biome tile placement has been reworked.

+ Reworked UI.

+ Arena-based PvP which doesn't suck.

+ The game has had it's first expansion: Mantle of Power.

Mantle of Power has added a few things aswell:

+ 3 additional Uber levels.

+ Four new advanture world types.

+ A gem system to further improve your character, gems add to your PR.

+ Level cap raised by 10.

+ An extra item rarity level.

+ Another Shadow Tower difficulty level.

+ Regular enemies have a chance to spawn as a "super" version with improved stats like the giants in the Sky Relm.

- Empowered (large) gems have names and you can't have two of the same name equiped.

Trove has changed a fair bit since it was released on Steam, from the addition to an auction house-esque store to the release of the game's first expansion: Mantle of Power. In addition to the 3 extra uber levels there are four new uber world types that are progressively unlocked the higher you go up, starting from a water themed world, then a sky relms-esque world, a lava world and a shadow world. When beating dungeons and claiming their loot there is also a chance to get a gem cache in everywhere except the shadow uber worlds, in the regular uber world the cache has a chance to give one of three types of gem, water, air or fire, this applies to the fire, water and air uber worlds but the caches only drop gems.

Shadow worlds work very differently, instead of completing dungeons in a traditional sense, you complete "coliseums" which are considered large dungeons by the game, once you complete these dungeons it spawns a chest much like in the Shadow towers with one big difference, instead of using a shadow, moon or eclipse key for the normal, hard and uber ST difficulties respectively, you use one of two keys each giving you different kinds of loot. One key gives you a large gem with the Stellar rarity that was added in MoP with random stats and one of the three elemental gems stated above or a few items needed to upgrade your gear to the new Stellar rarity.

Overall i think Trove has improved a lot since it came to Steam but some additions have ruined the game for some people and rightfully so.

The game is fun, a bit grindy. But fun until you reach about past 40+ hours. Then you realize you are doing the same quests over and over again, & each quest being slightly different from the last. a VERY repeptitive game. and the developers got too greedy and made it P2W.

As you can read in any other recent review, this game is currently terrible. It /used/ to be great fun. I only played 366.5 hours of it (compared to other people with 2000+, 300 isn't a lot) but I still got pretty far in the game and had a ton of fun. And then they took that all away in one fell swoop with the Pay2Win patch. Classes now basically cost money, if you want the full experience of the game in a reasonable amount of time. If you want to get high leveled gear, your only options are grind it out for a year so that you can get 1 item that is high leveled, or pay for it. Or get extremely lucky and sell what RN-Jesus gave you for the sake of getting better, functional items (for example, if you get a rare mount, sell it on the market for non-cosmetic things).

I get it, you have a fairly minimalistic mmorpg with the graphics of minecraft and a simplicity that appeals to everyone. But that doesn't mean you should make it so that you have to grind your life away for the sake of maybe making a dent in your high-leveled gear set, which by the way you would need 4 of if you were brand new because you would eventually get 4 classes and they don't always have the same gear. There was hope in this game. It was extremely fun, for a time. Unfortunately, they disrespected older players and forced newer players to pay if they want the game that the older players had. I don't think they have the ability to fix what they've done.

TL:DR - The game is pay to win now, unless you want to grind to the point where it's not even fun anymore. Ask anyone who used to play this when it was fun, IT IS NOT FUN ANYMORE.

This game was a great game a good game I used to play it with my friends and it was an amazing free game i would play it whenever i had free time. Me and my friends would goof off do dungeons mess around and much more the graphics were appealing and unique there was so much to explore. It was fun when we were low levels but as we started to understand and discovered dragons and the grinding part of trove it started to go down hill. We still gave it a chance I was like the developers know what theyre doing maybe theyre planning something and boy the were. by the beggining of 2k16 Trove demanded you to grind like a **** ton.I still gave it another chance but then they became basically pay 2 win luckily i already had all the classes unlocked by then becuase from then on you had to buy and it was like 20$ to get a class or two and then dragons you had to pay and it got so progresivly hard and demanded you to grind I was like ♥♥♥♥ this ♥♥♥♥ im done and my friends swore an oath never speak of this game again.

This game had so much potential but Trion ♥♥♥♥ED ti up like all the other games they make this company is ♥♥♥♥ dont buy anything from them.

Trove is Free to play, RPG, online, game that's very fun to play in this game your goal is to get highest level in the game. In this game you have to chose from fifteen classes which you can buy later for class coins. Your main spawn is hub where you have adventure portals. You unlock new portal by having bigger power rank. You gain bigger power rank by having better armor. If I had to rate this game I would rate 8/10.

Really, really bad monetization scheme... makes playing without paying almost worthless, because the people who do pay are going to be leagues and lifetimes more powerful than you. don't try to play this game seriously or you're just going to be dissapointed.
