About This Game

When John "Striker" Gullivan left the SAS, he's been far from thinking about retirement. A skilled sniper, veteran of many covert operations, he was ready to take on the less legal side of the "business".
Working closely with his friend Max - one of the best hackers there are - he quickly earned his fame among other mercenaries and private agencies. Yet, he was cautious enough to avoid standing openly against any legal government. He was even taking semi-official jobs that were too dangerous or too politically risky for any government agenda. This was an easy life.
Until now.

Features:

  • First Person Perspective dynamic adventure shooter powered by the advanced Argon 5 technology.
  • Play the role of a famous mercenary through 5 large, different chapters (14 huge levels total): Iranian hidden nuclear materials' processing plant, Moscow Trade Center where the trouble begins, City Dockyard hit-and-flee mission, Baykonur Cosmodrome shootout, and Iraq terrorist cave search for a missing VIP.
  • Game reflects John's sniper expertise. At the beginning of each chapter he is given 2 sniper rifles - a silenced Arctic Warfare as a primary weapon and additionally one specialised rifle that fits the chapter best, selected from a variety of choices. Additional rifles range from a very fast, semi automatic Saiga with sniper scope to a heavy and deadly Barrett .50.
  • Game simulates bullet ballistics depending on gravity, wind and bullet initial velocity for more realistic experience.
  • Using silencer on the Arctic Warfare or on John's personally modified P99 pistol may be useful at times, as the enemies fully depend on their eyes and ears - and they cannot chase what they don't see nor hear.
  • Playing the game as a "standard" shooter using automatic rifles and pistols taken from dead enemies is of course possible as well - still using sniper tactics over longer distances is easier.
  • Sophisticated enemy AI allows them to fight in groups, using different weapons and explosives, alarming and supporting each other, using terrain and objects in their tactics.
  • Game is powered by advanced technology and renderer that produces beautiful images, full of light, beautiful atmospheric effects, realtime water, reflections, shadows and different, realistic surface materials complete with vivid, living environments with animated plant life, insects and birds.
  • Convincing storyline and action objectives. The player is constantly in contact with his HQ, which feeds him with data and changes mission objectives as he goes.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
    • Processor: Pentium Dual Core processor or similar
    • Memory: 1 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Video Adapter compatible with DirectX 9.0c (Pixel Shader 3) with 512 MB RAM

Developed by the Polish Studio 'Silden', Manhunter (or Sniper: The Manhunter) is a run 'n gun FPS game that I feel is misplaced on the PC platform. If this were something that I played on a tablet, I feel it would be a passable game! With the limited power of Ipads (or god forbid, a Blackberry Playbook) I might even go so far as to say the game looks pretty decent and is an overall good package... BUT I'm not reviewing a tablet FPS game, this is a PC FPS game and whats here is an extremely repetitive, poorly optimized, uninspired mess of a game.

- Presentation: Graphically, I've seen worse. If you look at the screenshots you might catch yourself thinking it doesn't look half bad. That is because you haven't seen the game in motion. I admit, my 3 year old PC is far from a beast but I can still run Battlefield 4 on High at 50fps, meanwhile the FAR LESS graphically intensive Manhunter here struggles to stay at a consistent 30fps and has enough head bobbing to simutaniously give me a headache and motion sickness.

- Animations: There is barely any. When switching weapons blink in and out and all making the same noise as the reload sound. Enemies/NPCs don't even have walking animations, everybody just jogs everywhere in the same fashion and sometimes in sync. Speaking of in sync, the grass that is scattered everywhere all move in a counter clockwise motion in complete syncronization and it looks REALLY WEIRD.

- Sound: Weapons sound weak, they all sound exactly the same when reloading. The 'Combat Music' is not mixed at all; it hard cuts in, it hard cuts out. It even hard cut loops back to the beginning of the 12 second track if you stay in danger long enough. There 3 total "Combat Music" tracks , they suck, and you will hear them over and over, and over again. I eventually just turned on the Syphon Filter Omega Strain OST and continued playing, it was leaps and bounds better than the crap they had here.

- Content: As far as I have seen, there is an abysmal 7 total weapons in the game (and thats including the knife, and grenades). You will be using the SMG, AK-47, and the sniper rifle for 98% of the game. There are some bits where you will use the .50 Barrett Rifle to take out a vehicle. There are 5 Chapters in the story, and 14 levels that fill out those chapters. It will likely take anyone, at maximum, a mere 2 hrs to completely get through the whole game. TWO. HOURS. MAXIMUM. There is no co-op or competitive multiplayer.

- Story: There is literally no story here, just contract missions. Only two of the five chapters are connected in any way, and even then the resolution of that is unknown.

- OVERALL: Manhunter is just a waste of time. It doesn't have anything good to show you, listen to, and no story to be had. I can't even recommend it as a 'so bad it's good' kind of game because there are worse games that try harder, cheaper, and most of all have some kind of a soul to them.

Should ANYONE at all get curious in this game, wait until the price is $1.25 or lower to buy it.

Heyyo,

Hahaha I bought this game knowing it was bad cause sometimes it's fun to play a game you know is going to be bad and it was on sale for $2... yep, should have bought a double-double at Tim Hortons instead of spending it on this game hahaha.

No framerate limit... my PC was constantly churcing out over 100 frames per second causing serious heat issues on my GPU's after only 5 minutes of play...

The graphics are broken on the shadows... right on the intro mission? The Helicopter shadow only casts onto certain buildings and trees... it doesn't cast onto the ground so you'll get points where it's only part of a shadow showing. :P

The AI just runs around and crouches or stands in front of you and shoots... this might have worked ok on N64's Goldeneye... but this is 2014. This AI is way behind the times in terms of artificial inteligence.

The Voiceovers are very corney... especially the main actor. I laughed quite loudly when I heard him speak his intro lines.

My first playthrough? I failed the mission because after we escaped the village? I started running down that valley... and then a custcene popped up warning me to stay in the mission bounds... couldn't move because it's a cutscene... and mission failed. Why wasn't my character just moved back automatically to the cutscene location? I had to CTRL ALT DEL and bring up task manager cause I couldn't hit esc or left mouse to restart the mission due to the cutscene is my guess. Yeah... broken game... really bad... only buy for someone you dislike or as a joke to a friend... whom you probably dislike. :P

The best thing about the game...
The lobotomised brain dead Jason Statham sounding voice acting, but the cardboard cut out enermies and bad hit detection not so much. Plus the auto save lags the game.

Enjoy... well you would if your were lobotomised or a cardboard cut out.
3 receding hairlines out of 10.

I fought enemies who appeared out of no where. My robotic friend who cannot properly hold a gun ran right into their fire and survived. Grenades go off like pop cannons. The guns sounds like baseball cards in a bicycle wheel and the main character's accent is unplacable.

Unless you are looking for a terrible FPS experience, avoid. If you ARE looking for something bad to play, this comes with my highest recommendation!

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as hell!
Enemies are like in the 80's arcade shooter game, just running into your crosshairs.
The only good thing about this was the price 0,49€

Your character is billed as a "skilled sniper": tries to snipe enemies from a moving helicopter. *facepalm*

If you like playing bad games for fun (like me), this is the game for you. The enemies are pretty stupid, the sound effects are bad. Everytime you meet an enemy music starts playing, and when you've killed all the enemies it just cuts and everything is quiet, and I find that hilarious. The gameplay is also really bad, You have a pistol, a sniper and a smg (i think?). You can also pick up your enemies weapons but it does'nt really matter since the pistol is better than any weapon I've played with so far in the game.

This is a cheap game and even cheaper when you play it. It's a ripoff, so avoid at all cost. It's NOT worth the money. It must be one of the worst games I ever played and I have played for twenty years. In fact I want my money back!!!!

Black Screen Simulator 2014

I love Polish developers. But they are so poor, and I hope they will eat something on those 19 rubles I've spent on this game.
