Better custom controls

Hi all!

I've added a better custom controls setup. It should work with just about any controller or joystick ever. If it doesn't, email me at 'michael at michael todd games dot com' & tell me the details so I can fix it in my next patch.

It will (should*) work by default on windows/OSX/Linux with keyboard or xbox360 controller.
A ps3 controller will need you to go to the controls menu (just press ESC in the main world area & select controls, or walk to the controls computer), and select 'Set Player1 Controls'.

As with any complex new system, there are bound to be bugs. I've tested as much as I can, but at some point, I can't find any more & have to just release it. If you have any problems, please email me at the above email.

- Michael

Very disappointing sequel to one of the best platformers out there. Some bug made it impossible to turn off ghosts, which made the whole screen a mess. Maybe I'll revisit in the future, if there's improvement. But I would avoid it for now.

Interesting 2D colorful game, small number of levels, but great and fun!
It also have many hidden stars, and 2 hidden levels!
Speed and finger skill required! :)

If you still don't know, how it feels to continue playing at 4 a.m. just because the soundtrack of the game is ducking awesome, then welcome to ESJ!

After my previous experience in the original ESJ, I didn't really believe in Groove City.
Fortunately, the game overwhelmed all my expectations!
Even though it contains different unnecessary parts, like collecting stars, I still kept doing that just because of even better musical accompaniment and great gameplay experience, which feels completely different from the original game. Less unfair places, more accent on the platforming itself makes ESJ: GC simply a major improvement to its parent.

In general, Groove City is just a H-I-I-I-G-H value for a cheap price. Go ahead and purchase!

[Edit]: It took me only about an hour to beat the game for the first time, but I feel like I will replay it a bunch of times just because of how great it is.

I loved ESJ and was looking forward to a sequel even though I'd heard it's "more of the same". Well, it is - new levels, some new platform types, and a new great boss bottle. What's here is great stuff but having said that, I can't recommend it because it is simply FAR TOO SHORT. I'm not platforming guru but I played through the whole thing in an hour, whereas I got way more time out of the original ESJ.

So, what's there is great, there just isn't enough of it.

A challenging precision platformer with an excellent soundtrack, and 3rd grade humour involving ♥♥♥♥-like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and occasionally butts.

I don't know what to think. I liked it don't get me wrong, and it was very cheap which is also a plus. On the other hand I thought it was very short. Count only half an hour for the full thing. Then some mecanichs have disapeared which make it look less attractive than the first one. Some new musics and tons of humour will compensate then,

Although fun and challenging, this game is painfully short. It ended so abruptly, it caught me off gaurd. I guess the level editor makes up for the length, but it's still kinda lame if you were expecting an endless storm of ♥♥♥♥ery like in the previous game, you won't be getting it unless you play the player-created levels. Which, in my opinion, is NOOO GOOD. If it's on sale, grab it if you want an hour or two of tricky platforming.

A friend gifted me this.
Played it once, and my father was nearby.
He heard everything.

I secretly hate him now.
