Woodle Tree Adventures is a 3D platformer with plenty of charm. Despite it's 2 hour run time it's a fun experience nothing really challenging. Most if not all of the achievements are easy to get so that's good for an achievement hunter like myself! Although the game has it's bad sides. It's buggy and the camera is really bad.

I'm not sure what saddens me more, the horrible camera, or the fact that I paid money for this game.

Graphics are easy on the eyes and the game has a decent Mario-style concept.

Too bad the camera angles and controls made me want to end my life.

I received this game as a gift and thought, "what the heck is this? A log simulator?" Well, not quite! You play as a cute log who is on an adventure to collect water and fruit. Throughout your travels, you will come across mobs that you will have to stick it to.

Honestly, the greatest enemy in the game, apart from falling out of a reality that even Bear Grylls would struggle to clamber back into, is the camera. The positioning is horrendous at times - it will get stuck a lot. Furthermore it points at random things, which definitely makes jumping almost impossible.

Despite all of its flaws, I somehow ended up enjoying Woodle Tree Adventures and got hooked into playing it for a few hours. Sure, the game may be basic but it has a fresh pine smell to it.

The camera angle and positioning is definitely a negative - you will randomly be glitched behind blocks, what is quite frustrating at times.

Overall, I would give this game a 4/5.

A message to the developers: I cannot wait for Woodle Tree Adventures tree-quel!

Thanks for reading my review, and have a tree-mendous day.

So my friend gave me this game for free right? And I was like sweet, free sh*t. The download speed was like 15 seconds. I open it, then realize the game f*cking sucks. I'll break it down.

Pros
  • Soundtrack is pretty cool
  • Get to collect the tears of fairies
  • Get to beat up innocent animals with a leaf

Cons
  • Sh*tty controls
  • Graphics are worse than Minecraft
  • Storyline is none exsistant
  • Crashed my $1k laptop once I completed the first level
  • The animals 1 hit you then you restart, no checkpoints for each level

Overall
The game isn't worth anything over a dollar. You'd have to pay me to play this garbage.

A decent game that could've been even better with more polishing.
The visuals are very kiddy-like which is obvious since it's targeted at a young audience, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy it as an adult but a kid will probably enjoy it more due to the cutesy artstyle and platformer gameplay. The game is mainly made for a controler setup so, keyboard is slippery and stiff.

- The camera is awful, must be fixed asap because the tunnel vision makes it frustating.
- The music isn't that bad, but after some hours of playing it gets extremely tiring due to the loop being so short.
- Better controls when playing with keyboard and mouse.

It is pretty entertaining once you get the hang of it and the new leafs you get make it enjoyable, so it just really needs tweaks here and there to make it truly shine. Also a proper pause menu with options would be very, very nice.

This is a game that gets boring after the first 10 minutes. The soundtrack is not that good and the sound effects are repetative, same with the gameplay.
The entire game is just running around hitting things that you dont need to hit because you can run faster than them, and finding berries and then the fairy tears.... I would NOT reccomend this game.

Just save your money and buy something more worth your while

Woodle Tree Adventures is a game about a walking log that must collect fairy tears in several different themed worlds and one optional level that gets unlocked when you collect 600 berries, which are the equivalent of coins. It's a 3D platformer that really reminded me of Super Mario 3D Land. I wanted to like this game, but unfortunately after playing it I can't honestly say it's any good.

Pros
+Bright and colorful
+Cute
+Kid-friendly

Cons
-Terrible camera- Sometimes it was too zoomed out, sometimes it was right up in the character's face. I often fell down holes I couldn't see or got lost because the camera angle kept changing. It doesn't help that your berry sack just gets bigger and bigger, obscuring your view as you struggle to get onto the platforms.
-Movement- Your regular walking speed is very, very slow and your running speed is way too fast. It only gets worse when you're in the water and you slow to a snail's pace, even when running. When you jump, you always go forward whether you want to or not. The whole thing felt like an ice level; I was sliding around all the time and accidentally fell out of the world many times because of it.
-Confusing hitboxes & clipping- Noticed lots of clipping issues, from my character being half inside his own berry bag to enemies walking through each other. It's hard to tell when you're going to hit an enemy, especially with the default green leaf, because the hitboxes are messed up. Even when standing right next to an enemy and hitting it with the leaf, it didn't die.
-Soundtrack- In some levels, it's okay, but in others it's absolutely grating. In one world, it's just a bunch of piano keys being played seemingly at random on loop. In others, it's simply not there at all and you can hardly hear it.
-Unforgiving- In some parts, it's very easy to die not necessarily because the level is hard but because of unfair controls and the camera angle. When you do, you're ether sent all the way back to the start or sent to a checkpoint far from where you died. The checkpoints seem really inconsistent, too, because sometimes when I died I was sent to one and then I died later on and went back to the start. It's hard for the wrong reasons. Enemy AI is extremely basic (either standing still or moving along a very basic path) and the levels themselves aren't too difficult. It's just that the controls coupled with the camera make everything far harder to do that need be.

This doesn't feel like a finished game at all and would need lots of work to be worth the money. I got it free from a giveaway, but I definitely would not consider buying it if I hadn't. Don't get this unless you want free achievements and trading cards.
