Isn't worth the $10:
- Only about 5 people ever playing this at once
- Extremely unbalanced
- Terrible community
- Confusing controlling
- Horrible Connection
Whenever I play this game there is only a couple people in the entire US region that are playing this game and I can see why. People see this as a pretty cool concept, but then they realize how unbalanced the weapons are. There are a handful of weapons that require skill and are pretty rewarding for using them correctly, but then there are very spammy and lazy weapons that require little to no skill to use. The contols are just extremely confusing. Press Left and it goes right, press right and it goes left, press and up and down and they either go left or right. This usually leads to killing yourself with self damaging weapons, not going where you need to go, going straight into an enemy when you are trying to run away, etc. All of this, mixed in with bad connection just leads to a terrible experience and a waste of money. People get unfair kills due to lag, a lot of packets are lost, rubberbanding, freezing. The main reason the bad connection is caused is because the game has no official servers (individuals run it) so if the person playing doesn't have decent WIFI, then it results in bad connection Also, because of these unpredictable kills, and unfair weapons, the community (which is basically just 5 people) tends to taunt you for your death and call you names (racial, gay slurs, etc).

I absolutely DO NOT recommend this. It has too many problems that needs to be fixed, please do not buy this.

Really wish I hadn't paid for this game... even $1 is too much since it's litterally unplayable. I have never ever been on and found other servers or other players.

If you're interested in doing anything other than sling-shotting around a planet by yourself endlessly, this is not the game for you...

Really fun game with creative weapons and colorful, vibrant maps. My friends and I have had a lot of fun with it, but I really wish there was an online community. I hope that someday this game gets proper promotion or something so that I can find this a viable option for killing time on my own.

Honestly, I think this game is great, though the timed challenges (especially for three stars) are a bit over-exagerated. I mean, hoestly. How the heck do you beat some of these levels in under 15-20 seconds for three stars? That's way too hard on some of the levels.

The mutiplayer, on the other hand, is quite enjoyable.... if you can find ANY matches whatsoever. I've only played a multiplayer match once, and I got lucky to play that much. No one plays this game on multiplayer, which is sad.

All-in-all, this is a fun, fast-paced game that doesn't get as much support for what it's worth. I recommend this game if you want a serious challenge for the solo mode, or if you have a friend(s) to play it with.
My Rating= 7-10

This game is a really fun local coop game.

That is all I can speak for. I haven't tried the trials, or the single player, or even the online multiplayer. But if you want a game in your library that you and a few friends can play on your couch, this game is amazing.

Screen cheating is a real problem though, as it can result in cross-map snipes where they can't even see you. I only recomend it to your mature friends who can deal with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t.

A recomended setting for local play is banning the satellite turrets, and the phase orb. Also excluding fusion core from your map choice. Satellite turrets are annoying and invite salt and toxicity, phase orb is a noob-tube, and fusion core is a ♥♥♥♥ map.

A few friends and I played this game for hours, and we loved it. I hope you find the same enjoyment.

I got this on sale for a dollar, but I would be perfectly willing to pay full price for this, though there are many other great games out there that you could add to your local coop collection if you wait to buy this on sale.

Sorry I did not change the review when the updates came!
Now it has pretty much everything I complained about in the old review. It is an awesome couch game. I won't say much.

1. The controls feel great. Very fluid
2. Local Coop is really Fun

Really great game! I hope everyone starts playing it

Old Review

A couple of things:

The Bad:
1. No LAN Support, Local Coop (Offline LAN would be great... but nothing of that)
2. Being from South America, it sucks a lot. NO Servers avaliables, and the ones from Europe or US give me 400-500 Ping
3. Even for the Regions availables, I don't see that many servers.
4. No practice or at least at first glance, not well made tutorials or AI (Not that big of a deal, because it seems pretty straight fordward.. but still)

The Good:
1. Awesome concept
2. Very Fluid and fast pace
3. I did not play that much, but found no glitches or bugs
4. Mechs!
5. Customization

Again, correct me if I am wrong in any of the cases, but is my opinion at first glance (I might have not find the places to do it, so I may be talking falsely). I will definetly change my review if these things change.

It still needs some things I would like in a game to be awesome.
This would be an awesome Couch game. LAN should be definetly on it.
More servers!

Hope more people start playing it

Orbital Gear. I've never played another 2D game to have as much fun as I have with Orbital Gear. The movement system can be a little strange at times, but after a while, it became a key part to this game in terms of my enjoyment. Tie it in with the weapons and a full server, and the game becomes something I want to sink more than a few hours into after I buy it.
Unfortunately, the issue you'll hear most is that there are not enough players, which is sad because this is a great game.

Update: More people are playing!

Time for my real review

Soundtrack: If you like dance music this takes the cake.
Controls: Very easy to handle, though sometimes it can be a bit weird when going fully around a planet.
Gameplay: Its unique fresh and really fun, I wish it had sort of singleplayer though

For $10 its a little much for right now, but I think the devs will do a really good job on this.
This game is actually really fun,
if you can play that is.

As of right now there is nobody playing this, which is such a shame.

So buy this game so there will be more players!

-You control a robot running around and rocket-jumping from planets to planets while trying to destroy other robots like you. Just...see the trailer. It is more exciting to see it than read it.

-The "Maps" are beautiful. Seeing how much different are the planets and spaces [literally] between them, is always welcome. Also in some maps require from the players to play differently each time.
For example in a specific VERY small map, I suggest you heavily to use mines and a shotgun :)

-A very satisfying variety of weapons for you to select. From a "normal" Minigun, to a weapon shooting big deadly gravity balls, pulling your enemies inside it!!!
Also the weapons work very differently from each other, making you test all the weapons to see which combination suit you better. The weapons of choice is Minigun/Grenade Launcher. It is simple my Jam!!!

-You can use 4 different perks: Rocket-Jump, Mines, Shield and Assist Drones. Again, you must test them to see what suit you better. Rocket-Jump is my choice. I just LOVE the awesome stunt I do with it!!!

-OOOoOOOOoooOOohhhh yeaaaaaaahhhhh!!! Run, Jump, shoot while you travel from planet from planet because of the use of the rocket-jump, fly near a enemy and blast him with a grenade launcher, WOSKdlsuokootrkqwqdklsdkls *drools everywhere*

-FInally the music is good. Very suitable for this specific game.

-Main problem: Not many people play the game right now. I am trying to find other player to play the game, but it is difficult. However the developers play the game sometimes [or daily, but I don't see them. I don't know] and this is a very positive in my book. They care and love their little gem.

-4 Robots for you to select. Sadly I only like the first one. The other models are....not so hot to say. Need more exciting design.

-Sometimes my character get stuck to a platform and I am a easy target for the others.

[Final Thought]

This is one of the best multiplayer games I ever played. It is fun, exciting, lot of weapons, beatiful maps, awesome stunts you can accomplice. Buy it so I can finally play the game more often ;)

Orbital Gear is a futuristic and fast paced multiplayer game where mechs battle in orbital warfare. Players are able to further their strategies with an extensive arsenal selection. Skilled players learn to utilize the advantages and shortcomings of these weapons as well as each map's gravitation to best their enemies. There is much to explore in the 12 maps and 2 multiplayer modes. The developers at Night Node continue to update this game with new content and fixes, adding much to its replay value. For the achievement hunters and card collectors, the developers have something for you as well.
