If things couldn’t get any worse, there are now crocodiles and bears that populate the island….but of course they can get worse…did we mention the zombie-crocodiles and zombie-bears?

  • Drop rate and re-population of certain resources has been decreased.
  • Weather event : Rain!
  • Flash light modification. Needs to be recharged.

This is a MUST HAVE DLC for this game! Or else the base game will be super boring and repetitive.

In the base game, having 2 or 3 golden boomerang will basically own the whole game. This DLC will disable that, because boomerang will break after a limited use.

In the base game, the flash light is just a matter of occupying inventory space, and you can turn them on all day. This DLC disables that, your flashlight will only last for about 2 nights before having to recharge, and every charging station can only be used twice. Charging station will recharge over time.

Wells only have 3 units of water at one time. It refills after every rain.

Camp fires will consume one unit of flint to start. Camp fire will extinguish after a rain. Additional camp fire can be lit using a torch to save some flint during the early stage. You can also use a flame-thrower to start a camp fire if you own the Nina DLC.

Crocodile and bear will eat your fresh/cooked meat if they managed to grab-bite you. Be careful when hunting them.

This DLC is required for 100% achievement.

-Quick Review-
So you've survived, played through the vanilla game and now you're ready for the next step in difficulty? That would be Kovac's Way.

-Detailed breakdown review-
Story: There isn't really a change to the story, just an increase to the difficulty.

Gameplay: To make Kovac's Way more challenging Flash lights need to be recharged, there are Bears and Crocodiles, enemies do more damage, campfires need flint, it rains, wells don't always have water, and much more.
Prepare yourself for the “un-Bear-able Croc-apocalypse” *slow clap* Thank you, thank you, I won't quit my day job.

Achievements: There are at least two achievements linked to Kovac's Way DLC; Back fire – Complete “El Diablo” chapters in “Kovac's Way” difficulty. Nightmarish Trip – Complete the mode “One Shot Escape” in “Kovac's Way” difficulty.

Price: Kovac's Way is priced at $1.99, for the difficulty revamp and new content that's a fair asking price. (*mumbles*) ...but you really should purchase “How to Survive – Storm Warning Edition”, you get more out of your purchase that wayyyy...

Conclusion: All in all, this is fairly priced DLC that will give you more game time, it's probably lower priced then a dollar an hour (which is the standard I measure with. 1 hour = 1 dollar)

That DLC is MUST HAVE for every H2S fan.

It simply changes the game from hack'n'slash into challenging survival game.

It just gets a bit more realistic. You can't simply duel horde of 20 zombies having a stick as a weapon anymore.

Resources are low.
Water is limited. You have to wait for the rain everytime when well goes dry.
Flashligh got battery. You have to charge it now. And turn it manually.
The OP weapons like boomerang can broke now.
Zombies are more tanky. They got huge dmg boost. Boomer can kill you on 1 hit.
New animal mobs are kinda fun.

If You find main story too easy, just play it Kovac's way!

Depending on what you want from the game...
makes it more strategic and a little bit more like dayz (minus pvp)

without this addon the game is more comparable to something along the lines of left for dead or a hack and slash
