Badly made mobile port. But i don't mind it.
I don't care about graphics (duke nukem had better looking 2D backgrounds 20 years ago), don't care about bad physics (its arcade after all) or that there are only 4 cars (sic!).

But I will not forgive one thing. This game is f*** boring.
Have you ever almost fall asleep during race? Have you hit the wall and realised that after one minute because you were thinking about what to prepare for dinner? Yeah - it's THAT boring.

Also i had weird controler problems. I changed buttons bindings in launch menu and ocassionally they changed themself during race. Only way to change it back was to Alt+F4 and running game again.

Colin Mcrae Rally for Steam is a wonderfully crappy experience that everybody ages 0 through 100 should experience. The overall horrible physics paired with irresponsive controls make for an absolutely blissful playtime when racing throughout Australia over and over on the same few tracks.

I felt right at home when my brake barely even responded, or when my speed sporadically went up or down a lot with the lightest change of the gas trigger. It felt like I was truly there.

The graphics were immersive enough to fool me into thinking I was actually looking at my PS1 over a CRT TV. I loved the completely flat bushes and trees, as well as the completely solid tree texture surrounding the tracks. I wish more games were like this.

The sounds were beautiful. I loved the monotonous whispers of the co-driver into my ear as I flew against every tree on the course. I loved the sound of a tin can engine pushing itself far too hard.

I would truly recommend this game to anyone if they want to have a delightful experience of what a racing game shouldn't be. 10/10 would give more money if DLC existed.

Real talk, go play the actual Colin McRae Rally 2.0 for PC, it's an actual game instead of this tin can of a mobile "port."

I grabbed this game on -75% or -80% sale, yet I still regret it.

While this game might be bearable on mobile, it's absolutely horrible on PC. Its overall sloppiness (weird physics, terrible controls) makes it plain frustrating. The game is hard, but not because it's challenging - it's hard because it's broken.

If you really want to play Colin McRae Rally, just grab good old CMR 2.0. This "remaster" has virtually no strong points over the original game.
