About This Game

The Story:

SuperPower 2 is the only global geopolitical simulation game which allows players to control entire countries. Players control countries in 3 major areas: political, economic and military, but this time, in a beautiful real-time 3D environment. Players build up their own countries and increase their influence in the broader world while competing against sophisticated A.I. Along the way, gamers make use of economic sanctions, political alliances, and military actions to wage their battles. SuperPower 2 offers the ability to fine-tune each country's performance, from creating or breaking treaties, to making tactical decisions in particular military conflicts.

Key Features:

  • 193 real countries all playable & equipped with realistic data drawn from the CIA World Factbook, the United Nations and U.S. Military databases.
  • Sophisticated A.I. designed to realistically simulate each country.
  • Real-life combat situations, with multiple forces joining and leaving battles as the balance of power shifts.
  • Real-time gameplay and Modular units building.
  • Solo scenarios and "sandbox mode", as well as full Multiplayer support for up to 32 players in a variety of styles, including world domination, economic master, and many others

SuperPower 2 Steam Edition Features:

  • 14 steam achievements
  • New internet matchmaking library, and modified the UI flow in the multiplayer menus
  • Updated the code to support new OS
  • Widescreen Resolution support
  • Editor and Full SDK included

Gameplay Changes:

  • Capital ships needed for invasions from the sea. They need to be within 750km of the region you're trying to invade.
  • Enemy fleets must be further than 1500km of your invasion fleet when trying to invade a region from the sea.
  • The AI will take diplomatic relations into account and will decide whether or not to annex regions under it's military control now.
  • Economy: GTM limited to 30%, sectortax at 70%.
  • Diplomacy: embargo treaties result in a drop in relations.
  • Combat Radius has been enlarged to make frontlines easier to make.
  • AI: allies will make more rational decisions when there is war. If you can handle it yourself, they won't help.
  • Peaceful Annexation: depending on population support in both nations, you now have more or less chance of peacefully annexation a nation.
  • 95 and the nations involved need at least one religion or language in common.

This game has MANY issues, but nonetheless, it still manages to be incredibly fun and addicting.

-Good soundtrack
-Comes with mod maker
-193 accurate nations to choose from
-Amazing replayability; 100% sandbox mode
-Multiple preset scenarios
-32 player multiplayer; that's right 32 people on one server
-Custom unit design
-Well-rendered globe
-High FPS even on weak systems

-Economy lacks depth
-Military lacks depth
-Politics lacks depth
-Cheap combat animation
-Mod editor not compatible with Windows 8 (it was built for Windows XP)
-Mouse-screen syncronization issues
-AI lacks depth
-Unreasonable AI (Such as Japan randomly invading United Arab Emirates or China randomly nuking Zimbabwe)
-Over-simplified UI
-Random crashes on some systems

Superpower 2 has a great concept, having the potential of dominating the entire Earth. Which is different from pretty much any game I've ever seen (except Shadow President). I love this game, I love everything about it. So you may be wondering "Why did you not recommend this game?".

You see this game is perfect in every way (like I have said) apart from one major flaw which kills the game, puts it in a coffin and buries it in the ground. You can only play this game for a short amount of time after paying money for it. I played it for around 5 minutes before it crashed. And I'm not the only one. If you go onto the forum page, you'll find hundreds of accounts of the game crashing or the game encountering a fatal error. And most of them are from 2014. It is now 2015 and the game still isn't fixed!

Because of this, it is absolutely impossible for me to give this game a positive review as I can only play it for about 2 minutes before I get forced to stop for having too much fun. The game had potential. The game could have been something special.

Started as Kazakhstan, took over most of the Middle East, China, and most of Southern Asia. Then I got ballsy and tried my luck with Russia. The entire world immediately declared war on me. Within a year I went from the strongest military ever known to mankind to being militarily occupied by the entire world.

10/10 Would copy Napoleon's mistakes again.

I played two games, one of which I am still actively playing.

Game #1 as the US of A:
Change internal laws; allow same-sex marriage, allow polygamy and child-labor in hopes of increasing approval, that fails and I change them back to not allowed.
-Invades Northern Mexico, Occupying The top to mid Mexico.
-Designs an Aircraft Carrier named after myself the Stan### #. ######.
-Launches naval campaign in Gulf of Mexico with that carrier and most expensive fleet.
-Launches Simultaneous naval campaign on Pacific side of Mexico.
-Launches simultaneous naval campaign to Middle East.
-Finds out it's too much work to send troops after fleet near middle-east and brings the fleet home.
-Launches troop invasion into southern Mexico after naval bombardments and begins invade Central America.
-Takes over Mexico.
-A lot of flipping countries get mad an attempt espionage, all of which fail.
-Takes over Central America, except Panama.
-Gets maddened of continuous population is turning on you notifications and nukes the UK, leaving the British Military Shattered.
-A LOT OF FRICKING COUNTRIES GET BEYOND PISHED OFF. Basically most European countries are hostile to the US.
-China, UK, Carribean, Japan, South Korea...etc etc. are Hostile and Send troops.
-Fleets are all destroyed and half of the USA is occupied by Asians, Brits, and other countries.
-Asks Russia for help, Is denied, and is very angry, because US is spiraling to British and Asian control. Thinking about nuking Russia.

As the USSR: Looks at the political charts sees they are terrible, launches nuclear strike on Ukraine/ Crimea. Takes over the countries. Makes cultural exchange with US.

Beautiful game, if you want to f-up a country and destroy half the world this is for you.
