Huge 2.6 update live, iOS coming May 14th

Super exciting news everyone! Fearless Fantasy is coming to iOS (universal iPhone/iPad app) on May 14th!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg4Fp5Hr_E0

The game has been almost rebuilt from scratch. About two months ago we were ready to release, and then decided to redo the artwork. And the months before that Daniel spent reworking the shop, the balance, adding new gestures, and more. This a very big update.

The big update log!

GAMEPLAY

  • Complete overhaul of the trial system! This is now more skill based, more meaningful, and offers a lot more variety.
  • Custom trials for all enemies.
  • Ability trials become more complex with increasing levels.
  • Difficulty selection now only effects the complexity and difficulty of the trials.
  • Added a new trial element: The tap circle.
  • Added "dodge" effect when an attack is completely evaded (for both heroes and enemies).
  • Leon's Crimson Rush is now called Cloud Breaker and changed to a powerful AOE attack.
  • Various passive abilities and status effects have been tweaked to interact better with the trial system.
  • Enemies now don't attack without confirmation, so you can take a bite of your sandwich in-between a long series of enemy attacks.
ARTWORK

  • Completely new background graphics and world map!
  • Increased resolution for all characters.
  • Added a simple soft shadow under characters.
  • Updated a few monster designs.
BUGFIXES & GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS

  • The achievement bugs have been fixed. Most missing achievements should be awarded as soon as the eligible save slot is loaded.
  • The game now saves in-between battles. When you load a game which was interrupted during battle, it will restart from the last wave.
UI

  • Updated shop UI, with a much cleaner layout and better usability.
  • Trial elements have a much clearer look and feel.
  • Improved audio feedback.
  • Improved battle gauge, which now also shows which character is taking action and if they are blinded.
  • Colour coded hero selection markers for faster recognition.

We've also removed the challenge mode for now, it will be back in a later update.

About This Game

As Leon, the world’s most dangerous bounty hunter, you embark on a mission to slay the world’s weirdest creatures, and save a girl from an awful marriage.

Fearless Fantasy is probably the weirdest RPG you’ll play this year. It’s a turn-based game that deeply involves players during every turn. You use gestures (with the mouse) to score critical hits, resulting in very involved and interesting gameplay on every turn.

  • Use gestures to score critical hits in a turn-based RPG
  • Most original character designs you’ll see this year
  • A full-on story with animated cutscenes and voice-overs
  • Upgrades and progression systems
  • Boss fights
  • RPG stuff and dances!

Fearless Fantasy does well at what it sets out to do, offering a weird but likable aesthetic backed by a whimsical premise and quirky cast of characters. The streamlined design works to its advantage with a hands-on battle system that does a nice job of getting the player more involved. While the software itself is soundly designed, however, the omission of touchscreen technology support is quite glaring and would have enhanced the game’s tightly focused battle engine. The use of mouse, while functional and serviceable, takes away from the true potential of the gesture-heavy gameplay. As it stands now, though, Fearless Fantasy is still a nicely streamlined role playing battle marathon.

Look to the "Troll" move, which attracts the enemies' attention by performing signature dance moves from Gangnam Style.

A lot of people claim that it feels as though it was desinged for mobile and ported over. The dev stated in another review that it in fact was originally designed with pc in mind, and personally I really like the feel of it. If you've ever heard of, or played OSU!, it's very similar in terms of gameplay. Only here you're slaying monsters instead of playing songs.

One thought that came in my mind while playing it... how it would be to play it on phone :P

But this game got my heart. Graphics are not perfect but there is something unique in it.
Something that other games don't have. This game seems to be simple in the beginning.
BAH, its even boring... when You play on "EASY". But then one moment You realize You want something more from that game. You go back, and You start to play NORMAL, HARD. I really like the way You need to swing with Your mouse.

I wish there could be a way to train, it's so hard on HARD. 1st look - i thought of OSU :P

I love the gameplay. Its a really an original game! So hard to find those.

PS. Don't forget about GOOGLE PLAY.

Cute little game with nice graphics. It is also a challenge.

This was for me something totally new and I certainly enjoyed it.

Operation is only by moving and clicking, and it depends on your accuracy and acumen as well by attacking or defending.
