2.1.1 Quick patch

Hi Everyone

Since we got so much feedback on it, I've readded Right-click functions, and made sure any instructions in game reflects that. Also added the version number to the bottom of the screen when loading the game.

I have also allowed quick salvaging with right click as well.

You can still perform the new alt/cmd click to perform the same functions as right clicking in game.

Patch 2.1.0

Additions / Changes:

  • Teleport system within the Endless Tower. You can pay a fee in certificates to go up every 5 levels you have made it previously.
  • Removed the need to right click all together. Anything you would do with right clicking before now takes alt-click if you’re on windows, and cmd-click if you’re on mac, with an exception to picking up items from the ground. That’s just a standard click.
  • Brought down mob health slightly. A little more significant on boss mobs
  • Rebalanced skills and ranks a bit, in order to make purchasing ranks feel more worthwhile. May fine tune more after community feedback.
  • Added a couple of low chance special floors to the Endless Tower with an achievement!
  • Crafted gear in the Endless Tower can go above ilvl 50 now -- if you have a maxed out party.

Fixes:
  • Mac clients were still having reported issues saving. I’ve fixed that now. Should be good to go.
  • Found a couple more sources where bad items could be generated and removed that. Hopefully this addresses the issue where the game was freezing up when loot was generated.
  • There was a couple of misplaced tutorials. They should happen in the proper order when you listen to the Jester.
  • Level Requirements can’t go above 50 now… That is unless I add a bit to the level cap ;)
  • Removed the Label rename for gear in the tower. I’ll have to readdress this later, but it was causing issues with crafted gear being saved properly in between game sessions.
  • The exit button was hidden for the endless tower shop in certain resolutions. moved that to an easier to find location.

What's Next:
More bugfixes, and getting steam offline mode to work a little more reliably. It is a single player game after-all.

Retro Turn-based, four members squads doing dungeon crawls...
Seems pretty blend BUT:
-You can send your squads in Auto-questing or send them manually.
-13 Classes and 7 Races give you plenty to work with.
-Upgrade you Castle to gain advantages (choices Do matter).
-Send your guys and girls to University to increase their stats.
-Use the weaponsmith near your Castle to craft gear which can be enhanced by rare stones...
If you like turn-based fighting: Get it!
If you like light story and plenty of characters in your rooster (48 Max): Pick it up!
Oh and the DLC Endless Tower rocks, adding new challenges through infinite randomly generated dungeon :)

I have been loving this game for what I played so far. I reccomend this game to only people who have a lot of time on their hands, for this game will sap up a lot of free time.

~Pros~
+Retro Art Style
+Nicely Done RPG
+Unique Attributes
+Long Playing Time (a + for some, a - for others)

~Cons~
-Repetative Soundtrack
-Annoying Dialouge Sounds (turn off sounds in the options)
-No colorblind options
-Casual Gamers not welcome
-takes time to learn
-Even for a retro game, the pixels may strain your eyes (personally they are too big, but you get used to it)
-Long Playing Time (a + for some, a - for others)

~Verdict~
~Buy it and try it, although it takes time to learn and saps up a ton of time to play. However, if you have that time and like RPGs, then I think you will find this game quite enjoyable.~

If you're looking for a game where you manage adventurer's, send them off to do quests, manage multiple teams of heroes. Manage a kingdom. Then look elsewhere. This is just an RPG that tries to sell itself as a simulator/manager game. It feels like Knights of Pen and Paper without any of the charm, flexibility, and that fun factor. It's quite boring and it attempts progression by making you play as a single boring class and you must unlock other adventurers by grinding through boring dungeons [which are basically random battle simulator] to unlock more boring garbage.

It's just an rpg and it struggles to even do that.

Avoid this game unless you wanted a game like Tap Hero with bad art that pretends to be 'pixel' art, but it's really just like they hired Notch's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cousin to do programmer-art. My god is this game boring.

@Developer Hoping you'll give this some consideration.. =O
---
Edit: Looking at the screenshots for the game again, it looks like the issue may just be that the game doesn't downscale well to my 1366x768 resolution, as the screenshots seem a bit larger than that.

I've had this game high on my wishlist for a good long while.

And, finally being able to load it up, it looks exactly like my kind of game-
An amusing dungeon romp with classic turn-based party play, using an action timer system [ie, performing x action creates y delay before that character can take their next action].

Dungeon exploration, loot gathering, town management simulation.. it just seems quite fun.
A vast pity, then, that I'm unable to play it.

That is to say:
The graphic quality is abysmal.
I'm not referring to subjective preference toward pixelated graphics- I'm a JRPG nut, I play my share of pixel-heavy games.
Rather, the very low quality of pixelated graphics, even at the highest graphic settings, is so painful and hard to focus on that it induced a migraine within 10 minutes of play.
And it's clearly not a graphic issue, since it extends even to the text within the game, which is so grainy and distorted that, for me, it's nearly unreadable.
Rather, the pixelation gives the impression of a game designed for 640x graphic resolution, that isn't upscaling properly- except, I tried it with 640x, and it's still unreadable. Moreso, even- the game downscales TERRIBLY, and goes from painful to read and view to impossible to.

This game seems quite fun, and if the graphics are ever smoothed out, I'd gladly repurchase it and give it another go.

But, no matter how I might want to play the game, right now I simply, functionally cannot.
So if you'll excuse me, I've some painkillers to pop..

PS: Let us adjust sound settings before completing the first tutorial mission. I couldn't find a way to do so [as the settings menu is locked until you've completed the mission], and it was rather annoying. :X

Really unique game. I like it alot. However, there is one mechanic that should not be in this game and that is the invade mechanic for speeding up the game. It isn't a good mechanic at all. However, as long as you can avoid the rush mechanic and just do dungeons in this game. The different setups and strategies in this game are quite numerous. You should have fun figuring things out in terms of composition and strategy.
