Why Early Access?

“Great games aren’t developed overnight, and the best games are developed with a community. Skara, in its essence an indie multiplayer game, is now at the stage of needing to be played to improve. This task is not for the faint of heart. You will be going where no person has gone before, a world that is still being built, a world perpetually at War.

On the one hand, that means that you can experience some problems and discover bugs. On the other hand, if you are willing to invest some time to have some fun and to help us continue developing it, you will be one of the first to shape a new kind of gaming experience!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Even though that we have had previous versions, it is our first international open build and we still need your active feedback to polish the game. However long it takes to get there will be Skara’s Early Access.

We estimate summer 2017.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Skara will add content on the top of the actual version. Right now we have the body of our game but we will have 4 different arenas, 5 customisable characters to choose from, new customizable options for the characters and keep polishing the game.

Remember that we will keep adding more features and content after our full release, so it won’t stop us to go even further and open new unexplored scopes for Skara.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of Skara consists of 3 arenas (one for the “Duel” and the two other for the “Last Team Standing” game modes) and 4 characters with different skins. They are meant for as many as 6 players at the same time - human players (or bots filling the remaining slots), who can party together through our social system to play as a team.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the game is and will be Free-to-Play. But don’t panic, it is and will be also Free-to-Win. This means that you only be able to purchase cosmetic items.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We would value community feedback on virtually any and every aspect of the game. From finding bugs to balancing the combat to brainstorming cool new features, we are all about making Skara for the community to rule and enjoy, and we expect the Early Access community to be extremely vocal on all these fronts.

To facilitate that process, we will have lots of easy ways to provide both targeted and general feedback, from surveys to polls and the odd email.

We will also stream the game on Twitch where you will be able to talk with the developers directly while playing Skara.”

Open Alpha Patch 0.8.1



Welcome again, survivors!

We are ready to introduce the new Open Alpha Patch 0.8.1. We have been working on the performance of the game, as well as on adding some features, on character balancing and on some small improvements in all our maps.

The changes in this new build include:

New features:
  • Video options menu
  • Added texture streaming to improve loading performance

Character balancing:
Khärn: He needed a minor tweak to its basic attacks as the combination of multiple Khärns in LTS modes were too powerful. The damage reduced was compensated with an improvement of his Dash Attacks, that are now more effective. We are aware that this may affect duels more than we intended, will keep tracking match results and improve it over the coming builds.
  • Basic Attacks damages reduced to 55/55/75 from 60/60/75
  • First Basic Attack Impact changed to Medium from Hard
  • Basic Dash Attack damage reduced to 50 from 55
  • Specialized Dash Attack damage reduced to 55 from 60
  • Solved a problem that made the Dash Attack to not connect with the enemy

Shinse: We detected a systematic usage of the sprint attack that wasn't giving much window to counterplay to other players. To strengthen her high risk high reward mechanics we want to move that focus back to her basic and specialized attacks. Most changes influence the penalization caused by impacts, allowing for a more combo focused attacks instead of getting in and out. Given her high skill cap we will be having a look at her performance.
  • Sprint Attack Damage reduced to 65 from 75
  • Basic Attack Damages adjusted to 50/50/60 from 55/45/60
  • Specialized Attacks Impact improved to Medium from Light

Tamvaasa: We wanted the Vilkai Song to be more interesting making it harder to use in team based game modes and gives some reaction time when playing duels.
  • Activation of Vilkai Song is now delayed by 66ms
  • Time between cooldown consumption and actual effect activation has been increased giving more time for enemies to stop the skill before activation

Overall / Game Mode
  • Added Specific Balance modifications for Game Mode Duel: Heals/Regenerations halved in terms of effectivity

Maps and textures improvements:
  • “Gâo-Di - Temple of the Zem” map performance
  • “Kilma - Blut at the Lava Coliseum” map performance
  • “Jaarvi - The Circle of Axes” map performance
  • “Coliseum Tutorial” map performance
  • General textures

Fixes:
  • Social: Improved the reception of friend requests
  • Social: When joining in a match, sometimes you could see the conversation written in party chat, in the in-game one
  • Social: Fixed the fact that you couldn’t invite a player which is already playing to a party
  • Account: Fixed crash while loading session
  • Account: Fixed problems with parties while changing the region
  • Menu: Fixed a visual glitch where some character parts were not completely loaded
  • Glyph system wasn’t being updated when changing bindings
  • HUD skills when changing bindings of special skills to some key on numeric keyboard

The Battle of Kornit is over!



They went down from the mountain

were able to save Kornit.

Dawn on the battlefield has left a trail of dead bodies in the lands of Kornit. The Khärn, commanded by Bajheera, managed to grasp victory on the last day of the fight against the troops of the Tamvaasa led by Revenant. The Vilkaitith clan has been forced to retreat north again while the Khärn settle on their domain west of the Rozsha Mountains.

Many have been the feats carried out by the brave heroes who tried to defend Kornit from the invasion of Bajheera. Songs will be written about Destroyer, a warrior from Celea who fought relentlessly on the side of Revenant, overcoming innumerable enemies. Or of
Kanna, a brave Shinse who was trying to prevent the expansion of the Khärn to her homeland. Even Saga, a traitor in the eyes of the Khärn, fought on the side of the Tamvaasa against his brothers . But all was useless against the tide of giants that was spewed from the bowels of the volcano.



Is this the beginning of an even greater conquest? Or can the Tamvaasa regain the lost land? The Shinse, whose territory borders on Kornit, contemptuously contemplate the presence of a new enemy, while trying to keep their southern borders safe from the Celea.

The world of Skara continues to war amongst itself in the Age of Two Suns ...

About This Game



Skara is a Free-to-Play competitive team-based melee combat game for up to 6 players set in a fantasy world. Skara is now available for PC on the Steam Store. Easy to learn, hard to master, only the best can be legendary, remembered forever in Skara lore. Will you be among the next Skara heroes?


Fast-paced combat with timing and accuracy focus
Each survivor has his own 3rd person combat style with a personalized set of close combat movements and skills to fight in frenetic skirmishes.

Team fighting synergies between characters
In order to master the game you will need to learn the specificities of each culture’s combat style to take advantage of your survivor’s and play as a cohesive group of warriors, powering each other’s strengths.

Quick multiplayer matches
You can choose different game modes ranging approximately from 3 to 10 minutes. You cannot hide in the arenas, so you must kill your enemies before they kill you.

Game modes
Right now we have 2 game modes: a 1v1 “Duel” and a 3v3 “Last Team Standing”. And 3 arenas: “Jaarvi” is the icy scenario for the Duels and “Khilma - Lava Coliseum” with “Gâo-di - Temple of the Zem” are the two scenarios where the Last Team Standing matches take place.
A 5v5 “Domination” is planned to come in the future. We will soon start working on 5v5 “Siege Battles”. Nearly all of them contain interactive elements. Danger is everywhere.

Lore-Rich
We have been working for the last four years to create a cohesive and rich Skara World with a strong culture background. We will introduce it to you through: in-game specific entries, some lore-related events, quotes from each Skara’s Culture in our medias and a ready to be published novel.

Cosmetic based monetization system
You will be able to personalise your survivors with aesthetic elements such as skins, emotes, victory poses and dyes.






Playing Skara automatically means you have a say in its continued development.

Fear comes from the belly. So Khärn cut the belly to let it out.

Born from the bowels of Skara, these mysterious and violent raiders of the land are by far the strongest of all. However, their brute strength makes them slow, offering brave opponents a brief opportunity for victory.

The tireless Celea escaped their burning homes to settle in a new land. Little did they know how soft and unprepared that land would be. Unstoppable in groups, the Celea are masters of Atash.

The Shinse lost their ancestral lands on Skara’s coast to the invading Celea. Now they seek revenge. Swift and agile, the Shinse have only two types of opponents: The quick and the dead.

The Tamvaasa descend from the Long North, a hardened race with a proud history and an age old rivalry with their southern neighbours, the Durno. Their piercing attacks, combined with powerful song-lore taken from the wild, makes them a force to reckon with.






Part of the vision of Skara is to allow players to literally become the protagonists of an unfolding drama. For now, we will hold a series of events for you to have a chance to be immortalized in Skara Lore. The first of them being the one called “Cataclysm”.

After the full version release, new in-game features will keep embracing this vision.
