What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As much work as we did to prepare the game; being a small indie company, we didn't have the resources to make as much content as we would've liked. Likewise, we plan to add more content to the game, and felt like Early Access was the best way to support this process.”

How long will this game be in Early Access?

“Until we, and the community, believe the game is ready for full release. Realistically, we're aiming to release it within 2014.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have better integration of steam features, such as achievements, and big picture. It will also have more content in the form of levels, weapons, and enemies.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We are currently undergoing a major overhaul of the game which should be released in during June 2014. This overhaul has completely rebuilt the game from the ground up, and features many improvements.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There is a possibility that we will increase the price of the game upon release a minor amount, if we feel like the game is worth it at the time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Post on the Steam forums. We'll hear you, and probably respond too. Let us know your thoughts on the game, and what kind of content you want to see added.”

Update Report - v2.04

July 11th, 2014

Hello gamers!

We just pushed a new update to Steam which has some new cool things, bug fixes, and balance tweaks, mostly all based on your feedback on the forums! Please keep the comments rolling in, as it helps us build a better game.

v2.04 Changelog:

  • NEW - A silver armor skin has been given to all the people who bought the game before the upcoming price drop.
  • Changed the chat font and made chat last longer.
  • Rewrote parts of the chat system to improve it.
  • The most recent 6 messages will now always be saved into the chat.
  • Chat will fade out over time and all messages will return if a new message is input, so previous messages can be read
  • Removed a log message that was spamming dedicated servers
  • Offset the store icon more.
  • Rebalanced the starter shotgun to be more powerful, and capable of 1-shotting basic robots at close range.
  • Achievements are now disabled when "Enablecheats" is used. (Sorry cheaters! You know who you are!)
  • Explosive AI should no longer be able to die in a way that keeps them in a psuedo living state the prevented waves from continuing and showed floating armor plates to clients
  • Players can now reload while sprinting
  • Meleeing while reloading will now interrupt the reload and melee
  • Added in a custom version checker to prevent outdated servers from attempting to be joined causing nothing appear to happen when pressing Join
  • Small optimizations to prevent spamming the Steam servers with game update information.
  • ?FRPortUsed was added to the startup line for dedicated servers that allows hosts to host multiple servers with a single IP. Read http://steamcommunity.com/app/263480/discussions/0/45350245150607485/ for proper use on it

Enjoy the update. More to come in the near future.

Update Report - v2.02

July 8th, 2014

Hello gamers!

We just pushed a new update to Steam which has some new cool things, bug fixes, and balance tweaks, mostly all based on your feedback on the forums!

v2.02 Changelog:

  • NEW - Added in difficulty settings and also allowed it to be edited by the dedicated server startup line.
(Difficulty settings currently only change the amount of damage done and received and nothing else)
  • NEW - Added a new achievement for beating a level on the hardest difficulty.
  • Player counts should now properly add themselves to the servers name.
  • Current difficulty displays in the server name along with the player count
  • "Sprinting" backwards no longer consumes energy.
  • Fixed a bug with the Triad achievement not awarding properly.
  • Extended melee range by 20% and increased melee speed by 15%.
  • Fixed the bug that was causing server names to not properly update.
  • Server naming is now supported in the startup line.
  • Potentially fixed a bug that was causing players to be unable to join a server after failing to join one previously.
  • Fixed a dedicated server bug that allowed the dedicated server to spawn AI with a health amount of 0 when no clients were connected (but previously were) causing some AI to become stuck in a state where they couldn't be killed but still were counted towards needing to be killed to end the wave.
  • Waves will no longer continue beyond their current wave if there are no players connected
  • Crosshair is now hidden while ironsighting. (Except for scoped weapons)
  • Store icon now always shows up during downtime.
  • Store icon size doubled.
  • Scoping in now slows down mouse sensitivity.
  • Fixed a bug to prevent Robots from standing still when they shouldn't.
  • If there are no living players AI will path towards the spawner that spawned them to get them away from wherever they last killed a player and prevent spawn camping.

To find out how to change a dedicated server's name and ports, look in the forums on the stickied server post. Currently you cannot change the name on regular hosted games, only dedicated servers.

Enjoy the update. More to come in the near future.

P.S. I told you that once the v2.00 update was out, we would be able to make updates mroe often. Do you believe me now?

About the Game

Set in the distant future of 2117, players take the role of highly trained military specialists which handle situations involving advanced and dangerous technology.

Final Rush is a co-operative action first person shooter which pits you against waves of enemies. Final Rush is more than just a game, it's a service. Buying the game will give you access to a constantly growing and improving experience.

This is the current feature set of Final Rush:
  • The FINAL RUSH FRAMEWORK - currently most of the effort of making Final Rush has been setting up a framework for new content and better gameplay.
  • 3 Levels in the corporate tileset - a futuristic automated factory and supply facility which has been taken over by a corrupted Artificial Intelligence. This theme has various robots as enemies.
  • The RUSH game mode - where the better you are, the more rewards you get, but the more difficult the enemies become. Fight through 15 waves of enemies, each bigger than the last, fighting dozens of robots at once.
  • 9 Weapons - fight your enemies with 9 different weapons, including two advanced experimental weapons. Plus, fight your attackers with melee attacks; grenades which can have a variety of special effects; different kinds of ammo, and of course the room clearing high powered ammunition.
  • 8 Upgrades - from additional armor and ammo, to better accuracy, and even a radar to find your enemies before they find you.

Path of Development:
Final Rush was made with a very limited budget. Nearly all money earned by sales of the game will be put back into development of additional features and content which will be added to the game for free!

These are some of the many features that are either already in progress or planned for adding to the game:
  • Stat Tracking, Ingame Ranks and Progression, and Armor Customization - This means that the better you do, the more you'll be rewarded with ingame points that you can use to purchase customization items for your character.
  • More enemies, and boss battles - This means an increase in the variety of gameplay by adding additional styles of enemies, and expanding the capabilities of existing enemies. This includes the addition of a massive boss battle with the robotic tower of death!
  • More themes, and levels - This means more levels to play on, and non-robotic enemies! (Final Rush isn't just a game where you shoot robots)

We're always listening to suggestions and comments, so be sure to send us your opinions!

If you like the survival type "wave after wave" games, this one has potential. I like the visuals and the robot comments they make when shot, and the ways their bodies slump around in robot garbage heaps when taking them down. Yes, there is not a whole lot of variety in the enemies and some weapon balancing is in order, but there is a foundation here for a really fun coop experience. So far i just have a few personal gripes that arnt very big fixes but would make things much smoother atm.

-first and most importantly, get real multiplayer going between steam friends ASAP. I have 2 friends myself that ive managed to sell this too, but they won't buy until they have multiplayer other than LAN
-allow custom key bindings (i know it looks like you can, but everytime i set keys differently, they just reset to normal upon leaving menu)
-A "jump" would be nice. Let's face it, when you play fps games nowadays, the ones who "ground" you with no jump feel as if there is something lacking mobilitywise the whole time.

Anyways, i do really enjoy this game and can see the potential like i said.
Keep up the good work!

Very fast action first person shooter. Just pick a gun and you're off. No story or cutscenes etc. Robots just keep coming harder and faster and bigger, while you improve your weaponry and features.

Control and gameplay are excellent, though still lacking in movement options like all fps games these days (can't move much while shooting; can't sprint and strafe).

Weapon options are quite good. You start with a choice of shotty, assault rifle, battle rifle, and the weaponry builds from there.

The middle tier weapon options could include a true auto smg, but it'll get there I'm sure. The shotguns seem OP.

Anyway, jump in; grab a gun; shoot until you die!

Great Robotic game. If you Liked Survivaling Game with "Wave mode" then,This was the Perfect Game,Awesome grapich and Effect for you. Have one type on every Weapon type like Sniper,SMG,Rifle and has a Large Room to Explore. No Special story ,You just play on one Room and Survival from the Robots near you and you will be Fu*ked inside.

"I Rate it 8.5-10 Stars" Highly Recommender!

100% Honest review.

I would not reccomend this game in its current state. I bought it on a whim and quit after surviving 3 waves, There isn't a server browser but there is a LAN option. Gameplay is repetitive and boring, Just wave after wave of killing boring enemies with a limited use of weapons. There isn't any character customization, story nor different game modes. Maybe after 6+ Months of updates it would be worth purchasing but in its current state; HELL NO!

In all honesty this game isn't worth buying even with -33% or even -75% off.

I managed to last 1 hour, After 15 minutes I was bored, There isn't anything new or exciting at all older games such as Killing Floors (Even thought it is a slightly different genre, the concept it very similar) is much better. There is no character progression you just survive each round save up and buy a new weapon. That is pretty much the entire game in a nutshell.

I feel pretty much robbed at this point. I'd expect a lot better than this even for an early access game.. a total mistake buying this even whilst on sale feels like a cheap cash grab even after being under development for 2 years. I own a lot of early access games both with and without steam and this is in my top 5 rubbish list, I've already unistalled it and will give it ago 8 months down the line.

Also if you're using the shotgun you have to keep spamming R to reload, and it only reloads one shell at a time which is kinda annoying when you're trying to keep an eye out for the enemies. You can't even jump in this game, The environment is pretty standard and doesn't stand-out anywhere noticably. The devs say its their first game out of the studio and it shows, A good attempt but lacks content and there isn't a reason to even play it after 3 waves.

Even when loading up the game for the first time it states there is a game update so I click on the update button and it loads up a web page stating that there isn't an update? O.o

Edit: Reponse to developer (Also posted in comments)

Hello developer,
I'm happy to receive a response directly from a developer, during the last couple of years with game studios both big and small struggling I can to some degree understand your viewpoint.

I'm also glad to see that the game will continue to be developed as I was worried from what I had seen (v1.00) and the dates surrounding the release and development.

Multiplayer nowadays is certainly a must when it comes to first person shooters and being a game launched on steam I personally believe it is very important to have some kind of server browser regardless of what format and I am also hopeful now that the server option is being worked on.

I may have come across a little bit harsh in my review but for a small studio graphically I believe the game is quite solid. Environment features such as exploding barrels, laser trip mines & different types of grenades (Example. EMP & Damage over time grenades) aside from the regular fragmentation grenades. The ability to jump would also significantly improve player-environment interaction (Example. Climbing onto boxes when cornered etc)

I will be checking back time to time on this game and even though my review was negative I believe that this could be a decent to great game.

I'd love to have a chat sometime and discuss some small ideas that I personally think would benefit the overall experience of the game.

Lastly I'd like to thank you for the offer of a 15 dollar steam game of my choice and it is this type of developer to customer communication that just goes to show that even small studios care what their customers think and not just about sales figures.

This is a very fun game if you like the wave survival type of games. But one thing to consider is maybe keep your stuff when u die and create a world with a base and decrease the cost of the weaponry. If u add that it will make it SOOOOO much better.
