I would only recommend this game to people who are fans of the WRC, because let's face it, it's the latest and only official product we have in the gaming market right now based on the 2013 season.

However, if I wasn't an avid fan of the WRC, I would avoid this game like the plague. The physics are almost wooden, the visuals fall way short of what a game of this age should live up to, the track design is boring, and on many stages the devs have just receycled a lot of the road sections because of the circuit (lazy) design of each event, the sounds are horrid and contained, and the whole experience is just flat.

The career mode has been improved, and it's the mode I have played the most. However, if you're looking for longevity then the multiplayer won't give you much of that, because it's likely to not even work for a lot of people. You can create an account for it, but after a week, the chances are that the game will tell you that you don't have an account any more, and that you'll have to create a new one.

I've created a new account 5 times now, and I got hit with the same message this morning, so no more for me.

Terrible effort of a game. It may have been an acceptable effort in 2008, but not late 2013.

Graphics arent very good
I use a steering wheel and the force feedback is all wrong
You cant change controls while racing. So if you need to and your in career you either have to wait until the end or throw away the race and then you cant recomplete it
If you just bump a fence or something like that it pulls the whole car around
All the stages within a rally look exactly the same. If you go stage 1 and then stage 2 you will find that they have the same corners which makes for really boring gameplay
I love the WRC but they deffiently should get someone of better quality to make their game
Ive played online free to play games that are better quality then this

After a year of the release, It has too many bugs, it hangs sometimes. Gameplay is boring, graphics are not good and in some rallies you confuse, not knowing where the road continues.
Unluckily this is the only game that recreates the real world rally but this developer shouldn`t have the license. They are not good enough and they don`t mind to improve the game.

One of the worst games I've ever played, but I love it.

I have to give it a bad review because I could not honestly recommend it to anyone. The whole package is probably one of the poorest attempts at a game, literally every aspect is lacking.

The graphics look like they are from Nintendo 64, it wouldn't be so bad for a 2007-2008 game but being from the end of 2013 we could expect MUCH better from indie games, but this is no indie, this is a full fledged "AAA-ish" game.

The sound is bad and I normally would never comment on sound but at times (particularly going under tunnels) it seems like the dev never even played their own game.

They have abandoned the whole game, within a few months of it's release the entire online aspect is shut down, achievements broken, they could care less. I get errors every race saying it failed to upload to their server, I assume at one point there was a user account system which has since been gutted out.

I was playing it last night and my friend said "where are all the other cars?", and then it dawned on me... There are no other cars. You will never see two cars on the track at the same time in this game, it's simply get to the finish line sooner than the par time.

A million other bad things I could say about the game -- it's pure garbage, avoid at all costs. However, it is fun. The driving through the courses and the vehicle physics are half decent. It really just feels like a cell phone game.

I paid $4 in the Humble Bundle and I am really enjoying my purchase, but if you paid $10 or more I would say you got ripped off, this is a cash grab and an abandoned project only a few months later. I could only imagine how mad you would be if you paid the full $30. This game should be $5 retail and it would feel like a much more honest game. I wish this had an "early access" label and the developer was continually tweaking and adding content but it's not, it's losing content as time goes by. I actually heard they de-patched it down to version 1.0...

Such a shame, too, because they clearly put some time into it. Some people say the physics are crap, but I think they nailed the physics. Not in realism, but in terms of being able to control it using a controller is basically perfect. The really sad thing is the "career mode". You would expect SOME half decent structure but it's just not there. There's a few modes: single race, single "set" of 6 races, or career, which is 6 races over and over. Finland? 6 races. Germany? 6 races. Don't expect any surprises like a set of 5 races, heaven forbid, you will get those 6 races per set. Over and over. You fix your car every 2 races, which is kind of interesting, but that's the depth of the career mode.

For those who really enjoy a *relatively* hard rally game, it's a good choice.
I've played WRC2 on X360 and found the graphics really enjoyable (in despite of most critics), but for some reason, the overall graphic quality for WRC4 has dropped substantially. Why?
I've played DiRT 1/2/3/SD and, indeed, Codemasters' graphics rule, but their increasingly efforts to bring DiRT closer to the X-Games had me very upset. We lack for a good real rally game with good graphics. But, if I were to choose between graphics and gameplay (as I'm being forced to do), here's my choice.

Rally is my favorite form of racing/competition and gotta say I'm very surprised how good WRC4 actually is, I played WRC3 and didnt like it much, but this is a huge improvement. The driving feel is awesome, the cars react how they should. The stages are simply amazing, they can be difficult and tight but that's what I love of rally racing. Multiplayer is great fun, I can only hope it keeps a good healthy community.

Comparing this to Codemasters rally titles:

Handling: WRC 4
Stages: WRC 4
Sound: DiRT 2/3
Graphics: DiRT 2/3

Codemasters take the sound and graphics department by far but gameplay is definitely better in WRC 4. I'm happy the official WRC titles made it to steam, totally worth the day 1 purchase.
