Such a pleasing game to play, gorgeous colors, amazing soundtrack, and smooth gameplay. Took about three hours for me to complete. Some cons, got stuck quite a few times while mining and you also cannot mine while wall climbing or while on a ladder. Would definitely play again though. 10/10

I was actually very surprised by this game! wasn't expecting so much fun. I played through it very smoothly and never got bored of it. gameplay is fun, graphics are nice, the game is challenging (not very hardcore, but it is not the easiest game either). Recommended, absolutely.

I just beat Steamworld Dig, with a little over 10 hours of gameplay. I got it from a Humble Bundle, and it just kinda sat there in my library. I decided to give it a try.

This game can easily be beaten in 2 hours, but I am a completionist and got a lot out of it. It's a nice game, but I wouldn't buy it for the $11 asking price (I'm a cheapass). If I wasn't broke, I'd surely pay $20 for this game. This is the developers first PC title, and it's impressive. It's a nice indie game, and definitely worth your time.

For what it is, I give it a full 10/10.

At first I didn't really feel like I was enjoying it, but quickly I was unable to stop playing it. 2 hours passed bofore I was able to stop playing it for the first time. Was very unexpected. Keep an eye out for when this game goes on sale or is in a bundle. Nice little time killer.

A lot of people have freaked out about my game time. However, I purchased this for the Wii U & Nintendo 3DS. By far the 3DS is my favorite way to experience this game. It's a great game to play when traveling.

This is a pretty fun game for those who like to explore. The maps are grided much like in Minecraft, but in 2D instead. There is more detail in the art and a good storyline. Par-cor is needed a bit as you progress in game, but lots of fun getting ore and doing quests.

This game is easily the best game I have ever played in my life. This game's plot is incredibly in depth and well thought out. I wont spoil anything in this review, but it has an fantastic story line filled with romance and betrayal. There is a great suprise ending. All of the characters have well written back stories and have great character progression. One of the robots' stories had me literally in tears by the end of the game. Her story has inspired me to reform my shallow life. The characters in this game have more depth to them than most people I know.

The gameplay to this masterpiece is very good as well. I would say that this game might be mechanically too difficult for the average casual gamer, but for truely hardcore gamers it will challenge you and truely push you to your limits. Gamers seeking a challenging game that they can seek to master will absolutely love steamworld dig. There are many different ways one can go about trying to accomplish the main goal of the game; "digging". First, and most important, is using the pickaxe to break appart blocks in order to collect resorces. This might seem like a realatively easy task, but it gets more difficult as the game goes on. Luckily there are other ways to accomplish this "digging". You can use the drill and steam punch later on in the game to quickly and efficiantly dispose of pesky blocks. This will however drain one of your important resorces; "water". Managing this "water" resorce while maintaining rapid "digging" rates is one of the most important ways to improve your effectiveness in steamworld dig. This all may sound pretty complicated and technical. Sorry to disapoint casual players, but it is. Steamworld dig has an extremely high skill floor. Masters will be delighted to find it has a very high skill ceiling as well. Because of the high skill ceiling and the indepth plot steamworld dig has very high replay value. I know I have logged hundreds of hours into this game just to experience all of the outcomes.

Steamworld dig has the best graphics out of any game released so far (to my knowledge). The robots and an insane level of detail and the dirt blocks look more real than the dirt outside my house. Truely the artists that put together the visuals should be praised for their attention to detail and their ability to create 3d models that bring this game to life. I have spent hours in steamworld dig just walking around so I could full appreciate the detail and craftsmenship of the game's artists. Once, during a 24 hour marathon, I forgot I wasnt in real life. I would recomend getting this game even just to observe the graphics. Its hard to make comparisons to other games because steamworld dig is just so far ahead of any other game.

Overall I would recomend this game to anyone who wants a beautiful, challenging, and well written game. This is my favorite game of all time and I hope it can soon be yours as well!

SteamWorld Dig is quite a fun mining game where you mine as deep as you can to earn ores and money to upgrade your tools and town. The achievements are interesting and I like some of the hidden easter eggs. The graphics are nice and the upgrades are hard to obtain in the beggining as well as the expendable items. Controls are wonky but it can all pass.

>I'd give it around 8.5/10
>Pros: Graphics, Achievements and Cards, you've got to be careful as to what you're doing until you get more items, death is punishing, upgrades are pretty cool, as you progress you unlock your town entirely.
>Cons: Not that many different enemies, death can be too punishing, expensive expendables, wonky controls, controls make you lose some items by accidentaly pressing them, no way to get rid of the placed items/cannot be retrieved, some parts are very annoying.

For those who spent hours playing Motherload on Miniclip during their childhood this is the perfect game. The game is based on the same prinicple (dig as deep as you can) but Steamworld Dig is way more diverse. Fight enemies, solve puzzles, all just so you can get that one ♥♥♥♥ing diamond for which you have to spend 20 minutes dying to get it, only to immediately sell it as soon as you reach the surface. Then you can spend your hard earned money on an upgrade which will be only good for the first 5 minutes your underground and then you repeat the process of dying and upgrading.

10/10 did not ruin childhood love for digging games

Nice, simple and well made. I love the design and the atmosphere. If there would be more options and crafting this game would be totally awesome. Without it it's still very good. I played every day since I bought it. It is quite addictive. If you love digging and short game with nice graphics and design, this is for you. Solid 8.0/10

After the nuclear halocaust events of Dig-dug now robots dig the mines of man.

SteamWorld is essientally en exploration game where you dig ever downwards through a large mine. Picking up resources along the way to upgrade your arsenal and your personal stats. You'll spend most of the game just digging through rocks but it is highly addictive. My only complaint is that there is not enough content to keep me entertained for too long. I clocked in just over 9 hours while getting every nook and cranny and all upgrades. I usually go through a game again to grab all the achieves but the dull gameplay couldn't keep mne entertained enough to do so.

Overall a very good game and well worth the price.

8/10

This game is truly worth buying. It's some relief from everyday duties. You play a digger. But that digger is now living in the world. It upgrades. It finds new things. And it's just beautifully drawn.
Game can be played in different styles - slowly crawling dungeons discovering all the secrets or running through it to the end of the game. It's not so long - as many have mentioned before. But still there's no rush. You can do whatever you want. It's open-world. But... with direction. Direction - down. When you are tired of open-world, you just dig down and discover new things that alter you game experience.
