“7 Days to Die achieves exactly what it sets out to be. It’s a fun and intense post-apocalyptic sandbox with all the right mix of base-defense, scavenging, and exploration.”
8.3 – Shoost

“7 Days to Die is like Minecraft with Gravity. Building defenses with friends and huddling in the corner hoping no zombies get through can be great fun. But what keeps me coming back to the game is the TNT.”

“7 Days to Die looks genuinely impressive, and I can’t see this not making a huge impact when it arrives.”

Ya, I don't recommend it but that does not mean it's a bad game. Just that there is currently far better games currently out that do the same thing or very similar thing.

I did enjoy it for a bit, but that did not last to long. It can get challenging but it is also far to easy to cheat. Being given the ability to have a creative mod in there map. With that on, you can easily select anything you need to build a place, fly and have guns and bombs for days.

If you like this type of game and want to try it. Go for it but definitely get it on sale.

Amazing game that has dedicated developpers to enhance gameplay throughout every update! They listen to the community and are easy to contact. Over 350 hours logged as of posting, many more to come.

This may be a game to watch over the next while. It is a slow going finish for the game, but it will for sure be worth it!!

Still in Alpha after all this time? Thats my only complaint. Seems like this game will never get finish. It is fun and I like it, but I figured the dev team would be trying to put this game out of alpha. It seems they are living off this game being Alpha. reguardless you should play it as I've had fun. I usally come back to play after a big updade or to see whats new.

Like: Challenging to survive, fun to play, this game provides endless hours of entertainment and building.

Dislike: Multiplayer servers: No Fun since they are player managed and player controlled -- blech. Would probably be fun if you had several friends who played together on multiplayer on a somewhat private server.

Wishlest:

1. Managed subscription servers. I hate the player managed servers because it always seems like the person/people that set up the server controls everything (obviously). Would be nice to have a set of subscription servers that are not managed by players.

2. With managed subscription servers -- add lots of quests with regular quest management and some sort of story line.

3. Not sure if this is possible already -- but if i get enough radiation protection should be able to venture into radiation zones and find cool stuff.

4. More types of zombies, the same old zombies get old after a while

5. Maybe some NPCs that are not zombies -- with quests

6. Venturing across radiation zones, can find other habitable zones.

7. With managed servers, enable trading

8. Lots more stuff to create, more food options. This is already pretty good, but it does start getting repetitive at a certain level.

Alright so the reason why i thumbed this down, was because of the problems that the game still has, which effects the imersion heavily and yes I am aware this is still Alpha

One thing that often occurs inside my own home is a zombie horde, which sounds ridiculous, right? Why even stay in a home if you can never be safe from zombies without even doing anything? Thats just one of the problems that they need to fix
Another problem is the screamer zombie. That ♥♥♥♥♥ op, dude. I understand that it was added in to make the game a lot harder, but i feel like there is still something off about it. We should have at least an option in our world settings to disable screamers or even those fat cops that shoot bile at you, or even dogs. Some people like playing the game without them because it gets a lot less annoying

Then there is the weird backpack time drop. If you die and cant get to your backpack in time, the backpack ♥♥♥♥ing disappears. Crazy, right? Even if you're running away from a horde and trying your best to kill them off one by one to only find out that afterwards, all your hardwork is gone. There is no point in having the backpack to be able to disappear.

The situation that i was in, was that I was using a forge for the first time and placed it in my house. Now i know not to do that and to place it somewhere farther away from my house if i want to do anything, because zombies can sense the amount of heat given off of furnaces and campfires and are attracted to it.

Basically, im not saying that the game should be easier, but it should be configurable so it would fit the preferences of everybody who wants to be bothered by the little errors and annoyances in this game.

This is a good game and has a lot of potential, but there are a lot of things that can make this game unplayable

7D2D gets two big thumbs up from me.

Survival is but only one aspect of the game; the other half is building. Every block in the game can be demolished, usually for resources. There are two map styles, Navezgane and Random Gen. Random Gen is the only way to go, at least after ones first or second playthrough. The worlds are enormous. As in, running from the southern tip to the northern tip can take (and I am just ballparking here) 30-45 minutes. East/west, being the same thing as each map is spherical. It would probably take 10-20 hours just running around to discover most of the POI's on a given map, if one did not interact and focused solely on traveling.

Most of the single player mode is focused on getting set up for the zombie horde, which arrives every 7th day. The goal here is to generally fortify up a building or make your own. There are random hordes (very often in single player), zombie dog hordes etc, that will attack on other days. The default settings are that zombies walk in the day and run at night. It is possible to make them walk all the time or run all the time as well. Night starts at 22:00 and with the run/walk setup it really makes one cognizant of the time. There is an extreme sense of urgency to get to a secure location before nightfall, that I have never experienced in other games. For this reason alone I would give the game an easy recommendation.

The hordes at first are fun to fight but eventually (for me around 200hrs) they just because too easy. With the right set-up, overfortification, or the use of spikes, it becomes almost trivial. Wooden spikes are probably the biggest offender because they are incredibly cheap to craft and placing row after row after row outside of a base then even the heartiest 7 day horde will be torn apart before they even make it to your base. There are other simple ways to shut down the zombies, such as destroying the bottom rung of a ladder and jumping up to climb it. This prevents them from ever getting up unless they walk on another zombies head. Then again simply placing a block at the top of the ladder further prevents this. So the only way to be "unsafe" is for them to actually tear down the building, which in my experience almost never happens even on high difficulties (they will ravage a building but usually they end up digging into the ground after a certain point).

The building aspect of this game is also incredible. It is possible to build almost any structure you can think of with a wide variety of block types and textures(definitely could use more textures though). There is also a physics system in this game so be sure to have things supported or they WILL collapse. There are countless hours of fun available in the building system alone.

Multiplayer is much of the same but with the additional adrenaline filled moments of pvp (if on a PvP server). Finding players is often done by just listening; and with good surround sound headphones it is easy to narrow down their exact direction. The zombies are still there and the 7 day hordes still come. Most MP servers have mods such as zcoins (coins per zombie kill) and in game item shops to spend your coins. Depending on what it is in the shop I typically don't have a problem with it, but I do severely dislike the servers that have "zgates" and other teleportation methods. Using transportation like these takes away from the game in a large way because it gets rid of many meaningful choices. I won't go on a tandem here but I could write several pages about why I believe teleportation to be a terrible decision for servers (I know many people like them, the same people who enjoy teleporting into dungeons/instances across the map in MMORPGS, except takes away much, much more). My biggest peeve other than that with multiplayer is the fact that most people live in holes deep underground, scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (on pvp and pve servers alike). Gimme a break people!

It is possible to tweak almost every aspect of the game via the .xml files. Very easy to do and highly recommended!

For solo settings or pve multiplayer with friends I recommend (if not listed then default):
Difficulty: 4 - Nice balance between too easy and just plain annoying. On 6, many of the zombies take far too long to kill, especially starting out (not that its hard, using the techniques listed above make 6 difficulty trivial). This just allows for zombies to have the kind of health you'd expect them to have, and not be like your main tank in whatever MMO you play. Bow + Zombie bear at your wall with its head in a weird spot so you can't shoot it inside or out + 6 difficulty = 20 minutes of shooting it.

Block durabilty: 50% - Initially, normal block durability isn't terrible (and on MP servers it usually is 100%), but after a few playthroughs it is nice to not spend the majority of ones game hacking away at a tree or rock. Although this makes it possible to gather resources faster, it also means that ALL blocks have less durability. Meaning zombies break through your walls twice as fast (Fun fun!).

Spawning: Very high(150%) - More zombies = more fun. To my knowledge this does not affect the horde nights, just the amount of random zombies that will spawn in each area.

Drop on death: Delete all - Only way to play if doing PvE (I've killed myself more times with my own landmines or accidentally hitting a gas barrel by being in a rush than anything).

Day length: 40 minutes (or less) - This one is huge and really makes a big impact on how difficult the game is. Longer days mean more scavenging time, more base building etc. A 2 hour in-game day means even on 6 difficulty the game is an absolute joke because that gives too much time to prepare. For me, 40 minutes gives me the right amount of time to feel like I am not accomplishing everything I need to and to work better the next day. I would even be willing to dial it down to 30 minutes, but that is as low as I would go. Most MP servers have the default 50 minutes (which is fine for that setting).

Now, those are just the game enforced settings but there are also self imposed rules that can make the PvE more enjoyable that I always follow:
-No spikes
-No mining underground (its easy to get all the resources on the surface by scrapping metal objects or mining surface nodes)
-No base building underground
-No blocks on top of ladders (I do take out the bottom rung, but this allows them to still get up albeit slower)
-Dog run speed decreased from 1.6 to 1.4 (perma-delete all a bit harsh at 1.6, this still makes them much faster than running zombies at night, but allows a slightly better chance to survive should you meet more than 1 (which is very common).
-Zombie walk speed increased from 0.2 to 0.3. (requires the player to now loot and scoot rather than take their time). The 0.1 really is a huge difference in-game.
-Xp multiplier 2 (I have NOT tried this out yet, but if I do another playthrough I will be implementing it.) Weapons especially level too slowly. As an example, I have a playthrough largely alternating between crossbow and sledge with nearly 4k zombie kills and am not even at 30/100 on either skill yet. The average player will never hit 30 in a single playthrough without dumping points into them, let alone come anywhere near 100 (hell triple might not be bad, at that amount I expect to be maxed or near maxed). Grinding skills out in multiplayer isn't bad, it adds longevity to the game and seperates players from each other in a good way (farmer friends, toolsmithing friends, scavenging friends etc.) Until of course you max everything yourself.

I also try to live in prefabs only, although doing some basebuilding with this ruleset is also enjoyable.

Stories at the bottom :P

(i am terrible at serious reviews so gimme a break here a'ight?)

for starters, this game is amazing, by far one of my favorite games, why? its an early access game that the developers have FAR from abandoned, they update the game maybe once a week or something, so its definitely not an abandoned game *cough* dayz *cough* so let me do a bit of a pros and cons here...

pros:

not abandoned, updated often

great crafting system, almost always something to craft

great zombie sounds, not just the one voice actor recording with a cheap mic that's in some survival games, the zombie sounds are one of my favorite things (a weird favorite thing about a game i know, but they're great :P)

great to play with friends (or with family, i play with my family a bit)

cons:

this is the hardest bit actually, in my 106 hours playtime (at the time of writing this review, i might have 153 or something when ur reading this :P) i haven't found many bad things...

kinda annoying when the snow covers up graphics, i have a computer that can handle decent amounts of graphics, but when i go into a biome with snow in all of the graphics are covered up, yet my fps doesn't get better. (this isn't really a con since it would happen in real life, its just something that's kinda annoying)

sometimes i think scavenger should be a bit easier, i mean i know this is like a hardcore survival game, and im a bit of a noob sometimes, but its the easiest setting yet i usually die maybe once or twice per game day... but still, i am a massive noob :P

that's pretty much all i can think of, so all in all i would rate this 9.5/10, amazing game developers! my favorite game by far! keep up the good work :D

and now its story time :3

I have owned this game since the ground was Minecraft cubes. I have a million (okay, that's hyperbole) other games and this is the one I always keep coming back to. I've watched as the land has smoothed out, a skill tree has been added, trees and zombies have been beautified, and additional zombies have been added, among other things.

If you are listening to a review from someone who has recently downvoted because of an upgrade, keep in mind that The Fun Pimps are constantly monitoring player feedback and responding to it. Ultimately, this is an alpha and there will be times when things happen that take away an aspect of the game that you are used to or that is part of your usual play style, but you can try a new play style for a while then return to it when it's reintroduced after The Fun Pimps are able to respond to the complaints.

Now, how about some pros and cons from someone who has some real gameplay in?

Pros:
Continual work from The Fun Pimps. I don't think any other alpha can boast this kind of attention from its creators.

Certain levels of hilarity.

You can make Lucille!

The game runs beautifully on my $500 laptop that is overloaded with programs for college.

You're never truly safe.

Combat requires technique and improves with practice.

Today is my last day of finals (Okay, not relevant to 7 Days to Die, but definitely a pro in my life).

Cons (Build 14.8)

You have to kill dogs (Yeah, it should be on doesthedogdie/gaming.com (I made the gaming part up...the website just exists for movies).

Caves can be too steep leading to unexpected injuries and difficulty leaving.

I had a couple of games where zombies just disappeared and wouldn't spawn, despite setting enemy spawn rate to the max.

Water slows you when walking through it and I think that swimming should be faster than walking.

Temperature system is still wonky.

Bears. I hate bears. Bears are sneaky jerks that don't fight fair.

Verdict:

If you don't like change, don't get this, or any other Alpha game.

If you don't have patience, don't get this, or any other Alpha game.

If you don't like challenging combat, don't get this game.

If you like variety and seeing how a game grows over time, get this game.

If you like the idea of going from a guy or gal in his or her underwear to a survival king or queen, get this game.

If you like creating things that become better and better quality as time passes, get this game.

I bought 7 days to die for myself and a friend in a Post-Final exams splurge.
Accidentially pulled a 24-hour gaming session. Barely survived zombies on day 14 tunneling underneath our base, forcing us to go out into the night.

It's almost needless to say that this game has captured my attention and my heart.
tl;dr
I wholeheartedly recommend this game, even though it is in alpha.

This is my list of pros and cons, as of 5/12/16:

PROS
  • Amazingly immersive gameplay.
  • Incredible diversity of crafting options.
  • Scavenging feels intense and exciting.
  • Power-gathering materials is immensely rewarding and oddly calming.
  • Good balance between realistic and simple mechanics for
  • Vast options for difficulty settings, not just in terms of combat, but also regarding death penalties, loot rarity, Length of daylight, in-game time compared to real life time settings, and much more. You'll never feel that this game is "too easy".

CONS
  • /STACK OVERLOAD
  • /STACK OVERLOAD EXCEPTION
  • DOGS, MAN. If you get an unlucky spawn and find yourself being chased by dogs before you have at least a level 100 bow, you're dead.
  • Melee combat needs tweaking for hit detection and range, ESPECIALLY on multiplayer.
  • Ranged weapon aimpoints need adjustment (not aligning with weapon).
  • Rare Glitch: Corpses disappearing immediately after killing zombies.
  • Occasionally, Enemy Pathing leads them to eitirely avoid

Probably the best survival & crafting game ever made. You can never get bored, there's always something to do and gives you the "just one more turn"-ish kind of addiction. Although still in Alpha i can 100% say that i've seen games released by major studios in a way worse state than this "alpha". Very active developers, releasing patches very often.
If you want a game that's really about survival, building and crafting - this is the one.

Pros:
-Tons of items, recipes, weapons, zombies, animals, food, plants, clothes, armor, building pieces, and more to loot/build/explore/kill.
-Many hours of things to do.
-In-depth survival features such as hunger, thirst, stamina, temperature, armor, injuries and illnesses, with various buffs that affect most of these things.
-A true sandbox where you can build anywhere you like. Dig underground, repair and reinforce an existing building, or build an all new structure. Upgrade your build from wood to scrap to concrete etc.
-Challenging zombies.
-A nice crafting system.
-A persistent character progression system where you can allocate points into areas you want to specialize in. This adds quite a bit of longevity to the game IMO.

Cons:
-Wot.

7 Days to Die is one of my favorite games. The devs have done a great job. They communicate with the community(even accepting help from the community to fix/shape the game), and almost every new milestone alpha build feels like a brand new game(really, look at the first few releases of the game and compare them to now---quite an amazing difference IMO). I think this game deserves way more publicity and players. Hopefully the console release will fix that. It gets a lot of flack for its graphics but I don't think it looks that bad honestly.

Been wanting to invest time in this for years off and on. Review continues to be updated

As of this writing, 14.5 horde bug (feral horde spawning and running right for your X,Y cords every night) makes it near unplayable.
Bumped to experimental 14.6, feral bug seems fixes, but spawning still broken (such as spawning inside small house (15x15 blocks) you secured as you log in, or spawning on the street behind (5 feet away or so) just seconds after you checked). Feral Walkers on day 21 absurd jump in difficulty for two lvl 30 players (5 shotgun blasts to the face meant nothing for them).
Even watched a zombie spawn (14.5 build) inside the back yard in the Land Claim Block footprint, walk into the house, up the stairs, break down bedroom door, and walk to and start hitting land claim block while we followed him 4-5 blocks behind.

Fun voxel game I think, but continuely plagued by really bad Zombie AI and spawn/generation. The game really has two strong selling points, the crafting/minging/building aspect, and the zombie survial aspect. Sadly, the buggy latter completely invalidates the former.

Awesome game! It's a great game to get 2-4+ friends together and batton down the hatches. There's various roles to play which can be done solo, or divided among your friends.. Everything from Looting towns, crafting items, building a base, mining ect.. I have a game with a few buddies we've probably each put 50+ hours into and keep exploring/ making new Forward Operating Bases. There's something new around every corner to keep you entertained.

I used to enjoy this game very much, but recent patches have broken the game to the point where it either doesn't launch, or is extremely buggy when playing. I would love to change my review to Recommend the game once glaringly obvious bugs are fixed (I've tried playing on both Linux and OS X).

Hard facts after 770 hours of gameplay

I gotta say that this game is not what i payed for and changed a lot mostly to the worse. It used to be fun but it becomes more and more of a ridiculous grindfest and if u have a job or you study but want to get far in the game then forget it...
(i played in a group of 4 and it was still just lots of grinding with no end)
The developers try to force you to spent more time in game by making simple things more complicated with every so rare patch instead of actaully adding new content to the game that would keep u busy on advanced stages. On advanced stages its exactly as boring as it was, now it will just take you longer to get there.. trough lots boring and time consuming endless grinding...
Terrible , lazy solution if you ask me.

PROS:
Great Building aspect.

CONS:

- Object/Weapons textures could be way better i mean even the original not HD Skyrim was better and that game is like what 3-4 years old now?The landscape textures are just bad, but they added HD light effects? set your priorities straight...
Sound quality is super cheap. Game performance is poorly optimized if you can talk about optimization at all.

-Glitchy graphics like see trough ground textures. You may eventualy fall trough such a glitch into a endless fall.
Glitching terrain textures which will form some awkward shapes and block your path so you could even get stuck in them.

-Glitchy zombie animations (which can get you killed)

-Lags ,many lags, even if your machine fits the optimal requirments or is above.

- Finding a decent community is very hard.

- Too many hackers and no decent protection to keep them out.

- Leveling... Well this is the worst level/upgrade system you ever saw besides of the fact that it kills immersion and dances on its grave, It just feels not realistic and annoying as if it was pushed in just to exist because hey all other games have that so lets kinda have one too.All the drops are now level adjusted says you have no chance of getting any even partly decent weapon/tool. It sells it self as a realistic survival game right, says it depends on scavenging and looting for things which will help you to keep the fight and stay alive... those are things which depend on luck , you should be able to find something great or trash... here you will find only trash till you get to a higher level no exception. Where is the thrill of what is in the next house im going to loot? What keeps me motivated to go on? 20 more levels of trash and no hope? probably not.

-Extreme time consuming farming for resources. I get it here they wanted to make it suddnly more realistic on this part right? And they did it, exactly on the spot where no one would like it to be.
I mean did i buy a mining or wood chopping simulator and didnt know it?
If i would love to spent hours and hours on braking stone and chopping wood i could as well just go outside now and do it in real life.
Immersion is great but not in everything.

- Bugs spawn endless stream of hordes for several days which will ♥♥♥♥ your base.
At this moment kiss your ammo good bey (which is hard to get) not only because the hords will really not end but also because now you will miss your target even if you aim dead on.
Why? Because you dont have the skill points spent on this type of a weapon.... and that is supposed to be a ego shooter? a game where your true aim doesnt count for sh*t?

-You will spent most of the day just eating and drinking or searching for food and drink. There is no end to your thirst and hunger.

- Now the furnace takes like two hours or so (real life time) just to let you use the resources u grinded hours for already. And that is only for you to be able to start crafting and that doesnt include the long crafting times yet.

- The weapons and tool crafting system is insanely bad, back in time you would have to advance from wood to iron to steel as far as you would get those... now u have to level up tool smithing to insanity just to get a dam pickaxe which will not break after some couple of hits. I dont start on the guns.

- Devs dont listen to the community and seem only to fix things which are ultimatly game breaking while closing eyes on other known bugs.

- Fixes take too long or dont happen in some cases, even though they tend to releas some hot fixes after every patch there are too many bugs which survived over a very long period of time.

- I see no new content for almost a year and god this game lacks on that.
And when they do add some little new thing to the game, that thing is going to be bugged!
like those mini bikes, that took you hours maybe days to put together and would glitch trough the ground on your first ride saying bey bey. just one of many examples.

-PvP is crap. Besides the hackers that will destroy your base no one can raid anyone! Because of the land-claim block which makes buildings indestructible.
Again one point where they need more immersion but hey stone chopping realism was top priority i guess so they had to leave the less important game aspects out.

I could go on for a longer list but i think this is enough info to form a opinion on the product.
Its very sad how they keep ruining this game.
And by now the game it self looks like a dead end. Sadly i see no future for this project, I would be happy if they would prove me wrong though.

Do i recommend this game? No, definitly not anymore!
I would strongly recommend to not buy it at the current stage.

Liked the game just fine, until I got banned from their forums for posting about a REAL issue that I was having. Some Moderator banned me "PERMENANTLY" from their forums for posting about a simple problem I was having with their game and my version of Windows. He/She said I was "trolling". If expressing a problem that you're having with someones game is trolling, a lot of people are going to get banned. This was uncalled for and until the ban is lifted, there wont be more thought given to my recommendation or to this game!

I bought this game some time ago and enjoyed my time with it, even though I had trouble running it on my rig at the time.
Recently I decide to reinstall it to see how much it's changed and, honestly, it's worse than I remember it. The optimization is no better than it was a year and a half ago, running like hot garbage on my rig which more than meets the recommnded specs. The mouse sensitivity is all sorts of messed up no matter what setting it's on, some of the textures honestly look worse than whan I originally bought it, the new crafting system is needlessly complex, the combat is absolutely awful, and I just can't recommend this game to anyone looking to buy it for $25. I really miss what the game was a year and a half ago because, honestly, it's not worth it.

It got this game a while ago and honestly didn't really like it too much, but that was probably because I was new to the whole craft/survival thing, and the game did not do a great job at making it easy to understand how to survive, but now the game is very friendly to start, and the crafting interface is extremely easy to understand even if you are picking up the game for the first time. With the added skill trees and the natural progression you gain from just doing random things such as using a bow or crafting is a really nice added feature.

The game definitely gives you chills, and you can't hide forever, The zombies WILL find you, and one night what ever little shack you decided to stay the night in will be destroyed and you will have to run while a horde of sprinting zombies chase you down. Hope you have good stamina or GGWP.

I did come across a nice place located in the middle of a river, (coordinates 580N, 70E) I've been shacking up here and it survived an attack from a horde, if you are having trouble this is definitely a good place to set up camp

Overall this is a very good game, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a scary survival game.

Pro Tip: Don't fight bears.

Fun builder game with zombies and decent physics. Can really be nerve wracking when you're new at this... and sometimes it can be hard to start out. Beware of dogs.

The biggest nit-pick is that it seems the devs are intent on making this more and more brutal with each iteration. Oh, new build? Let's see what they did. Oh look, dogs still don't obey the movement speed that can be set, and the harder zombies seem to be getting even tougher.

At least they got rid of the need for books---in some cases. It'd be nice if they'd get rid of it completely.

Still would recommend---it's constantly being worked on and is shaping up to be one of the best builder/survival games to date.

"This game is ruining my life" is something I would say if i had one. :P

As it is, it is merely filling my days with great satisfaction as i struggle to survive in a brilliantly crafted environment complete with the worst freaking dogs you'll ever meet!!! I hate those friggin' dogs!

Tho this game is still in EA, and needs some minor bug fixes, (if I keep getting hit from 30 feet away and have to waste half my ammo on crawlers once this game reaches release, I may start raging and change this review) a little optimization, and a story line (for the hell of it since sandbox mode does me just fine), it is one of the best games I have played in my life.

The gameplay is almost enough to forgive the minor bugs and polish issues. (Bethesda seems to do ok with major releases that never see the quality this game has already reached in that regard, however)

Overall, I support this game in every way, as I have even put up a server for the first time with any game.

If you like survival and moderate crafting (this doesn't get complicated or strenuous), Open World looting and mining in a fully destructible world, PVE or PVP experience, then give this game a try. It won't disappoint.

I went to play 7 Days to die recently and found that I was not able to walk around for 20 seconds without crashing. I looked through the forums and have had found that this is a common issue and has been for some time now. I spent a few hours trying to find a sollution, and installed the game in 32 bit which seemed to fix the issue. There is also an issue with mass amounts of lag durring horde mode.

I do know that the game is in alpha, but a bug as game breaking as that should be addressed a lot quicker than The Fun Pimps have dealt with it. I have been playng 7 Days to Die since its launch and I feel that the developers have just become lazy with their bug fixes.

With that said I do enjoy the game when it does work. But because if the issues it currently has, I sadly can not reccommend it.

The update that was supposed to save the game - the one that added minibikes - is actually the patch that made me stop playing.

Its a horrid, buggy mess. The best version of this game was DEFINITELY alpha11. Hands-down.

It's too bad, because he's finally getting around to adding features that would have been nice. It's too bad that the entire flow/balance of the game is totally ruined now especially with all the quality/leveling mechanics.

Really disappointed with how much worse this game is than when I bought it.

**UPDATED**
Game Recommended for the Brave of Heart ONLY

Can't recommend it unless you get your kicks out of finding bugs and issues with the game. In that case DO BUY it because you can spend your entire game time finding boat loads of them. Don't expect them to get fixed though if you report them.

Pros:
  • you get to kill Zeds
  • you get to build and design structures any way you like
  • they have added a few really neat systems like the temp control and skill lvls
  • more to come

Cons:
  • often when killing Zeds hits donít register (therefore you donít kill Zed)
  • issues that are reported are often not fixed example: minibikes disappearing, comparability with various OS
  • devs who donít give a rats behind about their games patrons
when players get a little nasty about the devs being incompetent ??????s, they in turn become toxic right back. They have no sense of costumer mindfulness. They are egotistical ??? hats that have their heads shoved so far up said anatomy that they cant properly develop this game.
  • As of Alpha 14.6 OSX players are unable to play. This is a known issue by the devs and they should be fixing ASAP

The game has been released on Windows, OSX and Linux. You would expect for that to continue throughout the development of this game. So far they have not continued as would be expected. I am an unfortunate soul who has to run games on OSX which I most painfully understand is not the best gaming platform to choose. BUT the point being is that this game has been compatible with OSX so far. Why are the devs now releasing updates that are not compatible with OSX? Not to say that it is a new thing for the devs to release an update or hot fix that only ends up creating more issues to chase. These devs are MASTERS at creating fires, apparently, so that they can chase those fires. They have developed an avalanche of bugs and issues that have clearly swept them out of their depth rendering them incapable of cleaning up the mess they created.

Over three years this game has been slowly added to, content wise, but has not been getting any better. The player experience has gradually worsened. Several servers I have played on have had to be wiped 1000+ days into development (player development that is). Massive "hubs", player settlements, character stats (in game player progression)LOST. All lost due to an update requiring a server wipe for reasons of compatibility I assume. This is only one infuriating example of loss of desire to continue this game.

MOST LIKELY A POSITIVE

Now in recent news just prior to the release of Alpha 14.6 the devs announce they are partnering with another developing team (Telltale Games) to help them bring this "game" to console. I have to wonder, as a player/investor, am I being left to fend for myself as a computer player? They have not yet mastered "their" initial creation (not even close) and they are already pursuing new direction for 7D2D.

Oh, side note!

They were using pre-made Unity store assets. The original zombies, most of the original animals, including the bear (not the zombie bear) were all purchased for in game content. The zombie sounds were also pre-purchased assets. These were not their original works of creativity. All of this is fine, but when they are going to act like they made them when all they did was buy them, there's a level of dishonesty there that cannot be overlooked. What does this say about the devs not to mention the 3 years of crap they have already shown us.†

All in all my time was enjoyable in game, but it gets very tiring and laborious when you have to restart so many times do to required wipes. I wish the best for this game! I have thoroughly enjoyed it. None the less there has been nearly as much frustration dealing with the issues that come with (seemingly) every update.

IF YOU PLAN TO PURCHASE and you do not heed my warning so be it. Maybe, just maybe, the devs will eventually create something great... but it seems it will take the aid of outsiders (Telltale Games) to make that happen.
