Reviews

“Along with being one of the (very unexpectedly!) funniest games I’ve played this year, the game’s disarming & charming aesthetic did not prepare me for what is undoubtedly the best WarioWare-like game I have ever played. In fact, I probably ended up spending more time with Cook, Serve, Delicious! than with almost any other game this year. The gameplay is simple in nature but blisteringly fast, resulting in a challenge that is more than enough to keep the average player interested. The game does not overstay its welcome, as it evolves in numerous ingenious ways by the time you’ve reached the end.”
The Stereogram

“It's not an easy game to excel at, but it's an easy game to get hooked on, and the challenge of building and running your own restaurant from front to back is going to captivate you for weeks on end...with depth to rival a strategy game and carefully controlled chaos ruling the action sequences, Cook, Serve, Delicious! is a rare release that encourages you to play until you master every nuance of gameplay.”
Jay Is Games

“Cook, Serve, Delicious! is fast paced, engaging, and absolutely addictive for foodies or non-foodies alike. Don’t be fooled by the cute cartoonish style because you’ll find your eyeballs popping and button mashing like mad after a few hours.”

Cook, Serve, Delicious is a hardcore restaurant sim, one of the few in its genre that gives the players total control over where they want to take their restaurant.

The game centers on an old, worn down restaurant in the SherriSoda Tower, which was once the heart of the building but closed down as business (and tenants) dropped to an all time low. But with the local economy rising back up and occupancy reaching its maximum, SherriSoda Tower has decided to bring back the old Cook, Serve, Delicious restaurant, and has given you complete control to bring it back to its old five star status of world class dining.

To do that, you’ll start with a few thousand dollars and thirty foods to choose from to put on your menu, as well as a host of restaurant equipment and more. Nearly everything is unlocked from the start of the game for you to purchase; this is your restaurant, and you must figure out the best strategy to get that restaurant packed with satisfied customers. Can you prove your culinary skills?

And if that weren’t enough, you’ll also have the opportunity to be cast in the Iron Cook television show, throw parties for offices in SherriSoda Tower, read virtual mail in your SherriSoda Tower Email account which ranges from game tips to crazy spam (nearly 500 emails in all), from customers providing feedback to your restaurant to opportunities such as being able to fund projects via “ClicknStart” and other big surprises!

With hours of content and tons of secrets and unlockables, Cook, Serve, Delicious will provide a big challenge for anyone who’s ready to take their crumbling, rat infested eatery to a luxurious Platinum Star Restaurant. Good luck!

  • New Steam Features include key binding support for all foods and events, a new gameplay option called CookBets where you will receive randomized challenges each day, fifty new spam emails and options as well as improvements to UI across the board, and full Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Leaderboards with special Steam Challenges and Trading Cards support.
  • Includes the upgrade pack, "Extra Crispy Edition," that brings ten new foods to the game including Lobster, Bananas Foster, Enchiladas, Sushi and more!
  • Steam Controller, DualShock 4, Xbox 360, Wii U Pro Controller, DualShock 3 and Xbox One gamepad button mapping fully supported for compatible controllers. Rumble is also supported (for Windows only). (Note: first and third party drivers still required for full compatibility. For a full detailed list, be sure to check out the Steam thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/247020/discussions/0/598199244891051604/ )

Wow, this game is really cool! I was not at all prepared to be that entertained. The gameplay is really a casual game's gameplay, graphics too, it's repetitive... So I could not understand all these great ratings! Now I do!

The developers did a really good job, because its simple gameplay gets so much addictive: press corresponding keys to take a plate, put some ingredients, cook it, serve... delicious! Funny situations can turn out- distracted by all the dishes to wash, you get confused by the *ding!* of a potato in the oven... and serve a raw pizza to a very angry customer!

I am not done with that game, actually far from it, it feels like I am still at the beginning, it takes time to have a perfect restaurant! And yet I know every time I have ten minutes to kill, I'll try with pleasure to play 2 or 3 days and buy this fryer or this soda dispenser I've been eyeing for weeks!

I do recommend and I look forward to its sequel, such a nice little game deserves more content!

I only recommend this game for people who have no life and have sponsors. Too expensive for what it is, luckily I got it for free. It can get boring pretty fast if you're not into these type of games. If I personally would like to work in a restaurant I would work in a real one and get money for it, so yeah not wasting any time in this.

An extremely addicting title that falls somewhere between puzzle game and management sim. Includes a very extensive single player campaign, several online multiplayer modes, and even local co-op. Every controller in the world is supported, even the Wii U Pro controller!

A simple but challenging game with great art. It is best played in short-ish sessions, I think, so it makes a nice distraction when I have a half-hour entertainment dead zone between tv shows, or if I'm only going to be on the computer for a little while and need something fun to do before I need to leave or start another task. Definitely looking forward to the sequel!

An absolutely delicious game! It's so engaging and complex for a cooking game! I would definitely recommend it if you're into cooking games and enjoy a challenge. The graphics are mouthwatering, and the recipes get more and more complicated as you upgrade them. You can set your own menu for your restaurant, you have to give 100 percent of hard work every second of the in-game day, to create positive buzz (popularity) from customers, and you have to invest in your restaurant in other ways except buying new equipment. It's quite realistic to a point. I won't spoil it further. The only annoying thing I've encountered is the "menu rot" thing, having to change the dishes in your menu every couple of days, I've seen other fans commenting on it. But come to think of it, it's great to get a fresh change in menu every other day, it keeps the game interesting and creative.
I also dislike how some of the negative buzz created by some menu items doesn't seem to be very realistic. Why would anyone mind for having alcohol on the menu? I'd say, in an office building, it's a plus.
I really love the music, it's so playful and it really keeps you engaged during rush hour, when you need to focus a lot in order to do a good job!
The customer animations and sounds are priceless. I like how they get more upper class too once you gain more stars for your restaurant.
I also love how there are a lot of in-game games, like the Iron Cook Challenge (think MasterChef).

This game is such a delight, it always demands more of you, it's a game you can truly try your best to play to perfection. Kudos to the creators for creating such fun, interesting and original content. And for making it truly challenging. I've been playing cooking games for a long time but this is by far my favorite.

For such a reasonably small price, considering the amount of game content (some of it, high-end dishes, recently added) this game is definitely worth trying out! It's a bargain, and a must-have for any foodie with a gaming passion! :)

Alright guys don't grill me on this or give me any salt but this is one of the sweetest games on the market. My buttered buns were glued to my chair for hours. I told my friend today "lettuce play some local coop on CSD." In response he said "GO TO pretz-HELL." He was amazed that a game actually featured local coop! I mean come on, who doesn't love cooking some digital steaks with your best bros. As I am aware, there are no bosses to cheese so the game requires true skill.

10/10 would flush toilets again.

Awesome game! A really fun restaurant/cooking management game. Good for when I'm a little bored and want something to pass the time. It's quite intense (especially on Extreme Difficulty mode & in the Battle Kitchen) but can get a little repetitive so I probably wouldn't be able to spend hours playing it at once, but it's still really fun and I recommend playing it! :D

This is a pretty cool title where you get to run a simple 2d restaurant with fast paced order based gameplay. However with that new job simulator game out for VR, I'd pick the latter if you have HTC Vive.

Good for a few minutes every day, but don't expect a lot of depth here.

Super fun especially co-op with friends! However, it can also get quite hectic, stressful and frustrating as you proceed with the game. Depends on your personality, I guess! It's good if you like games that challenge your organizational and time management skills and strategy.

This game is simply amazing , i could go in depth about all its features but in short for those looking for a comparison as to what its like , if you were a fan of a old game called Root Beer Tapper. This is the modern advancement of it.
Not only you can serve the beer to the oncoming army of people but also other foods.

To make sure its not too arcade like they have added in stuff like a upgrade system , equipment , events to make it interesting.
if you had loved Root Beer Tapper back then you will jump in and love this game.
what i liked about this game
- management were you can customize foods, equipment
- level up system to keep you going towards a 5 star restaurant.
- nice extra stuff to do like event, challenges, reading email, bets etc
- controls are excellent.

What i did not like
- extremely brutal learning curve for new players specially during rush hours + inspection right from day 1
- menu rot makes no sense, it should be the opposite people should like and want stuff you serve nicely.
- despite buying equipment the chores are not reduced that much at all.
- Some of foods are a pain to serve killing your chances of getting perfect combos.

Overall the game gave me the arcade experience i enjoyed playing Root Beer Tapper back then hopefully that gets released on steam as well sometime in future.

An extremely well-polished polished game with simple but challenging gameplay. Each piece of food is a simple mini-puzzle, but as your restaurant gains popularity (and during rush-hours) you get allthe orders at once, which is great for inducing a feeling of flow and mastery if you nail them all, or feelings of you being *almost* good enough to do them perfectly.

The game gives you additional challenges to keep you always changing your menu and hence the mini-puzzles you're solving, and the game offers plenty of milestones and upgrades that always keep you wanting for the next upgrade for your kitchen.

While great for casual gaming, I played a solid 8 hrs after purchasing it. Would recommend.

This is by far one of my favorite games that I own in my Steam Library. When people want to know a lesser known game that I recommend, I recommend this game.

Cook, Serve, Delicious! is a wonderful game that simulates what it would feel like being on a the line for a popular restaurant. You have to cook, you have prepare, you have to serve the food all perfectly or face the consequences. CSD is a restaurant sim, it is a cooking sim, it is the food simulator that we've been waiting for. The gameplay is excellent, the different modes are challening and bring new ways to play the game. If you want to just casually play a few rounds, you can do that, if you want to compete against those around the world, you can do that as well.

This game brings on all new levels of stress.

Without the keyboard controls this game would be impossible. It takes a bit to remember/memorise the controls, but once you nail it it's so satisfying! Be prepared to get frustrated and annoyed... and be able to memorise a bunch of different ingredient keys. I highly recommend this game - super fun yet intense!
