I'm only scratching the surface of the 1st chapter, and this review might change as I progress further in the game, but so far I'm really enjoying it. I like the mixture of Germanic setting and low-fantasy:
* The story and quests, whilst at times do get a bit confusing (get ready to do a lot of wandering around), are pretty interesting in a "figure it out by yourself" kind of way.
* The combat is different to most games, but by no means "bad". It's actually pretty good in Dark Souls kinda "git gud" way.
* But my main issue is that sometimes the descriptions in quest logs aren't really that useful and are written in a (sometimes) convoluted way. But I suspect that's because English isn't the devs' first language, so I guess it's understandable. But, still....
*** MINOR SUB-QUEST SPOILER***
For example, in one quest early on, you have to find a wealthy merchant who is involved in some grave robbing by a (quest description: watchtower casting a shadow on a rock by a southern gate). Indepth description, right? Well, there are a number of towers and rocks... but no gates. I spent 15min running around looking for it - even went to the south of the main town from which the merchant hails. Eventually the quest triggered (by pure, blind luck) and what they actually meant was the watch tower north of the south-eastern bridge.
