About This Content

Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior is a massive expansion pack for the best First-Person Slasher, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Featuring competitive online combat that seeks to capture the experience of truly being on a medieval battlefield. Inspired from the intensity and epicness of swordfighting movies such as 300, Gladiator and Braveheart, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare aims to bring that experience to the hands of a gamer.

And now Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior will bring the most iconic warriors from the ancient world, epic new environments and all new game modes to the already expansive base game content.

Every environment is an iconic homeland of one of the warrior factions. Fight in ancient Greek temples, kicking people into pits as a Spartan or run along moonlit roofs as a Ninja in a bamboo forest. Who is the DEADLIEST WARRIOR? Its time for YOU to decide.

Key Features:

  • All new classes including: Samurais, Spartans, Vikings, Knights, Ninjas and Pirates
  • Faster, more diverse game play makes Chivalry 1st person melee combat even more intense

This is a horrible DLC for a good game.

Quick note before this talk about optimization is that I use linux, so keep that in mind.

Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior's performance is something like 20% worse compared to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare's, and playing as a spartan is a terrible experience, due to the -20fps drops I get each time I swing my weapon.

Not only that, but each class is even more unbalanced than in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, in which they were quite balanced.

Some maps are made to be team based objective maps, but when it places Pirates vs Spartans for an example, you are in for quite an unbalanced match, as pirates can snipe you from long distances with their guns while Spartans have one spear to throw and after that they need to make an desperate attempt to rush uphill towards the pirates.
Also, I have not even played any other mode than team objective and tdm due to almost no players playing this game

Also, the combat does not feel smooth, as a matter of fact, it feels WAY worse than in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and even in that game it feels wonky at times. Sometimes your weapons just refuses to swing despite there being nothing to stop you from doing so etc.
It feels as smooth as sandpaper.

The biggest reason I rated negative is the fact that almost no one plays this at all. I think the duels could have been great, but now there are 1 or 2 servers active, and it's never a duel server, it's unbalanced Team Deatchmatch or something similar.

Simple(not easy at all, but simple to "in"(i.e. entry)) and fun.
Maybe one of the best melee fighting game from first-person-perspective, in recent times

PS: and also, game have FoV slider up to 120..priceless

This is Chivalry: Silly Edition. In a good way.
I die repeatedly and laugh. I get my ♥♥♥ kicked everywhere, and it's funny.
For some (if not most) That will put you off. For others who already bought it and didn't like it, you'll scream 'unfair, unbalanced and buggy'
Yeah it's buggy, and mass brawls in this game get messy, and some low life ninja will hit you in the back while you're facing 2 angry spartans.
But nothing will bring a smile to your face quite like 12 angry samurai screaming 'dishona to famiweeee' while sprinting into a crowd of vikings

I have had even more fun with this DLC than the base game, and I have experienced none of the problems that many other have mentioned in their reviews. The following is a short list of some complaints that I have noticed in negative reviews:

The game runs smoothly at 60 fps, and I rarely get frame rate drops.

Abandoned Servers
I was able to find a populated server immediatey, and every server I joined subsequently had lots of players.

The graphics in this game are, in my opinion, vastly improved from the original. I can now play in much higher resolution than the base game allowed. Overall, it is much prettier.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. I love all of the classes and I don't think any of them are overpowered. It is fun to experiment as each class and unlock new weapons as you rank up. I was having so much fun playing as pirate that before I knew it I had unlocked every weapon.

Overall, this DLC is great fun and I highly recommend it.

How to be a viking:
>grab some axes
>grab some more axes
>make sure you have a badass beard
>see inferior enemy
>throw shield like ♥♥♥♥ing captain america
>throw axes
>charge with your fists because you're a badass and you don't need weapons
>punch that pirate scrub in the face
>drink mead

10/10 would be a viking again

Now to make myself clear I think the base game is phenomenal, however when I picked this DLC up I was highly dissapointed to find choppy graphics right off the bat. I figured the gameplay would be just as fun as the base game, however I found it to be a signifgant step down with an unbalanced array of classes and fairly limiting game types. Fortunately I got this on sale so the hurt is much less. I do however highly reccomend the base game as it is some of the most fun I have had in ages.

I used to really like this when it had more players. Things have changed.
Of the classes, most are somewhat balanced. The Pirate has no defensive capabilities and no armor, so if you get close he is stuck to little low damage weapons. The ninja is quick but also armorless, one good hit will kill him. He also has no real ranged capability. The samurai has strong melee capability and is a little slower than the night, but has less damage and armor along with a lack of a shield making ranged his weakness. The knight is slow as hell and armored, with good defense.

And then we come to the "Problem Classes". Spartan has very strong ranged capability. The Javelins kill in one hit on the smaller classes and two hit on the more armored types. They have swords with good range and very high damage. They also have shields at all times that protect them from any ranged attack (including bullets). They also get an enormous spear that has the longest melee range in the game, not to mention they also get medium armor protection. Their gameplay consists of hiding behind a shield and doing somewhat unfair damage.

But the worst of all is the Viking class, the class that arguably ruined the DLC for everyone. The Vikings have the second best armor in the game without the speed loss that others suffer, you will not likely ever one hit them with a melee weapon. They also have shields, so they have complete defense against all ranged attacks. Speaking of ranged attacks, they are able to throw and pick back up every single item they have. Axes, swords, shields, etc. And it does DAMAGE. They also are able to dual wield their weapons, and every consecutive swing gives a boost to the speed of said swings. Did I also mention that they have spears and poleaxes?

In conclusion this class is very strong in every single aspect. They have armor, they have ranged that never runs out of ammo, they have shields to protect them from ranged, they have a swing speed boost that promotes spamming, they have dual wielding, they have decent speed, and they have long ranged melee weapons as well. They have everything that any other class calls a "specialty".

Most people who liked other classes have stopped playing. In most games I join there are new players playing the balanced classes and usually about 4 or so level 40+ vikings slaughtering everyone. The debuffing that needs to be done is so astronomical, they might as well just remove the class entirely. I'm so salty over this, you can't even believe.

>inb4 review disliked by vikings, mad because someone called them on their ♥♥♥♥

When Deadliest Warrior came out, I stopped played Medieval Warfare. It reminded me how fun Medieval Warfare was when that first came out. It's a lot of fun, and It's challenging.

There are no in game micro transactions (which Medieval Warfare started to introduce, and any game that does that immediately loses my interest). The developers have not (or at least i haven't noticed) changed the gameplay or unit balances, again something they started to do with Medieval Warfare.

if you have Chivalry, you must buy this too.

They removed all bot support, and the controls are far more finnicky than for the base game. in addition, many of the new multiplayer games will force one team to play entirely as a single class, with a habit of forcing players to switch teams. Weapons are unlocked through a convoluted EXP system (which does not carry over between classes). All in all, the only thing better than the base game is the graphics, and not by much. 2/10

  • Quick action.
  • Easy to play.
  • Unique gameplay.

  • Theme is unusual.
  • There is very little balance whatsoever.
  • No voice chat.
  • There are microtransactions in an already pay to play game.
  • Combat could more strategic and complex.
  • Combat is awkward and sometimes unresponsive.
  • Unarmed combat isn't balanced, you can easily kill people with your hands as if it were a weapon.
  • Game is highly overpriced for what you're getting.

Overall Score: 2/10

Just like most games these days, it has the potential to be something great. However, just like most game developers, instead of making things more complex and therefore competitive, they instead make the game simple for the casual crowd. It’s only a matter of time before the game gets boring. The game is too basic to make it replayable over a long period of time. If you also think you’re going to get in this game and become a professional and take our armies by yourself, not going to happen with the game’s current mechanics. This version is far worse than the original and it seems like the game is going in the wrong direction especially with their upcoming game called Mirage. I hope for this game to improve overtime.

Currently, save your money and don't buy this expansion.

A fun sort of whacky side version of shivalry, a little dumbed down but still basically the same game, nowhere near as on the scale of the main game and not something i'd really recommend if thats what you're after, still fun but i wouldn't say needed.

The Dory is the best weapon. Insta kill 99.9% of the time, and, when you get killed by it there's no sound, leaving you wondering "what was I just killed by?" overall good game. 10/10 would LMB spam again!
