I loved brink when it came out. I was anticipating it for months and was pretty happy with it at first. Unfortunately there were some imbalances in the maps and being a multiplayer only game these ended up spelling a downfall for the community.
There's about 4 or 5 of the maps that have an 80% or higher win rate for a particular one of the sides typically because of a lack of alternate routes to avoid exploitable choke points. And one map in particular was notorious for it (the "bomb the nuclear plant" level).
This game had so much potential. They had a very good revive and reward system, interesting and useful skills, balanced weapons, fun classes, and the movement system was hugely useful in most of the maps. But a failure to monitor for out of whack win ratios and to patch the problem points led to frustrated players and eventually the death of most of the multiplayer community at the time.
