BLOOD BOWL 2: THE DWARFS ARE (DEATH)ROLLING OUT!

June 5th, 2014

Blood Bowl 2, the sequel to Blood Bowl today unveils a brand new series of screenshots, presenting the Dwarf teams and their stadium! Blood Bowl 2 will also be presented next week at E3 in Los Angeles, at Focus Home Interactive's booth (West Hall Booth 5512).

>> SEE THE SCREENSHOTS <<

While Humans and Orcs have been joyfully tearing each other apart for a few weeks now (watch the ‘First Match’ trailer), it’s time for the 3rd of the 8 races of Blood Bowl 2 to make - despite their modest size - a triumphal entry. Their beards freshly trimmed and their Bugman’s Beer mug locked to their belt, the Dwarfs finally enter the pitch of their newly inaugurated stadium! One thing is for sure: they’re definitely not here to play the ball, and the Human team who have the honour (or misfortune) to face them first will certainly testify to that.

Blood Bowl 2 is even more ambitious than its predecessor in all aspects of the game, with numerous extra features and the highest production values. Its brand new graphic engine has been specifically developed for this sequel and displays the game’s high-quality visuals and superb graphics and sound effects that raise the license to the next level. The animations, the dynamic cameras enhancing the brutal atmosphere of the matches, the "Cabalvision" identity and the commentator duo of Jim Johnson and Bob Bifford faithfully convey the thrills and fury so typical of the intense clashes in Blood Bowl.

Blood Bowl 2 includes a host of new features in both Solo and Multiplayer mode that also make the game more accessible. The ambitious Solo campaign puts players in charge of one the most famous teams in the world of Blood Bowl to compete in some unconventional and truly unique matches to take their team to the top, while “League” mode allows you to manage your own team, club and even stadium! Finally, the game achieves a greater tactical depth in Multiplayer mode with fabulous innovations that we will release very soon and which guarantee to drive the players wild!

We look forward to revealing more of Blood Bowl 2 with additional game screenshots and videos over the coming months!

This game is a conversion of the classic Blood Bowl tabletop game. It takes the rules that required hours upon hours of bickering in real life to being automatically resolved. This saves you quite a bit of frustration, even if the dice rolls will still make your perfect team die horribly at the game's whim. If you liked the board game, you will like this game.

However, if you haven't played the board game, it's an acquired taste. You'll need to be able to accept that your rolls will dictate your fate, that your best player, that you've built up with the best possible upgrades, can die at any time, and that even if you play with perfect strategy, some times you will fail anyway. It's a brutal system, but it can provide a lot of long-term satisfaction if you have the patience for it.

Note: (The game is way more fun to play with a group of friends in tournament mode)

Rather than going for an re-interpretation of the Warhammer table-top game (Dawn of War), this game takes the Warhammer Fantasy football game "Blood Bowl" and ports it perfectly onto PC. The game itself plays a lot like chess, with a turn based system in which one team attempts to score as many goals as possible (as you'd expect). The difference between Blood Bowl and an ordinary game of football, however, lies in the fact you can maim, bribe and murder the other team if you so desire, making for intersting matches, to say the least. The selection of teams is diverse, with each having their unique feel and playstyle, instead of just being re-skins of the same team. If you're considering getting into the tabletop version, I most certainly reccomend playing this first as it can teach you the basics of the game and is incredibly fun to play with friends.
Don't enable the real-time option though, if you value your sanity.

Hands down my favorite strategy game of all time, I am absolutely obsessed with blood bowl. At first I was clueless and took frustration to losing early on but about 20 or so games in I began to realize the dynamics within the game and how it is meant to be played. It was something I knew I wanted to be good at and I was willing to put the time in to acheive that goal. This is a thinking gamers type of game. It's no m1 spam and hope for success no you have to strategize, use tactics, positioning along with some dice luck and risk assessment. Combine that with a competitive NFL style type of feel along with some hard hits, collisions and blood? you have the perfect game.

Although there are a few bugs and exploits which people do take advantage of for example if you are playing in "auld" or "nag" the cyanide public leagues yeah don't expect that your increased rank is going to actually mean anything in those leagues. why? well because people over the years have been farming/team boosting by having 2 accounts/2 computers then simply challenge themselves in auld or spin at the same time in nag against themselves. As a result insane rank and unfair advantages have come to those who exploited the system by boosting against themselves. Which means they get to increase their players skill level without actually earning it and an excess of this has saw the public league rank system completely ruined by farmed teams. All you have to do is check the persons game history and you will see 100's of played and mostly abandon games vs the same opponent over and over again often consecutively. It's kind of sad but true although your likely to never encounter such players these days as the traffic has died down significantly since the days when cheating the rank system in public leagues was still a "popular" thing to do.

At least half the community are into "Private Leagues" now anyway this helps to avoid random encounters with possible farmed teams or potential exploiters/cheaters. When I say this I don't mean people can "hack/cheat" in this game that simply isn't true but they can exploit and manipulate the connection which can either draw a sync error or a mismatch. This happens when they are losing but it's success rate is not high anyway. Others can lag the game out to but that's about it there isn't any "special cheats/hacks" in this game that's why I love it so much it's balanced and cheaters can only exploit the connection of the game not actually cheat with anything regarding the dice or whatever. Newbies are funny like that I can't remember how many times I have been called a cheat because my opponent rolled double skulls and told me I was controlling his/her results lol. Impossible! Anyway that's a little insight to the game I hope you guys will purchase the game it's very cheap for what you get out of it and will be looking forward to blood bowl 2 later in the year.

If you enjoyed this on the tabletops as much as I did, it's a no-brainer.
If you've never played the board version of this game it's definitely worth picking up in a sale. it's one of those quick-to-pick-up games with some interesting challenges in "story" mode, but the real game is mastered in the online leagues. There are a number of leagues available from the beginners league to the specialities like "no bash" (where "bashy" races such as Orc and Dwarf are not allowed entry). Which means that you will be sure to find a match to suit you for style and player experience.
On top of that of course there are Private Leagues.
If you have a group of friends looking to find a good fun 2-player game which runs 1-2 hours then look no further.

One last thing: In some sale conditions it can work out cheaper to buy Legendary edition AND Chaos edition than it is to buy Chaos Edition by itself.
