“It is a meeting point between old game design and new, with every other moment punctuated with some of the most thrilling level and boss design to grace the genre. As improbable as it may sound, this game made by one guy not only stands up to the classics, it is every bit as good as Gunstar Heroes and Contra.”
9/10 – Destructoid

“If you’re a fan of the genre, then this one is a no-brainer, and a wholehearted recommendation.”
87/100 – IndieGameMag

“I have to tell you about Intrusion 2, because it’s like a game from my stupid dreams about games that couldn’t exist.”

-Nice 2d/3d grahpic matchups
-Good selection of weapons
-Decent assortment of enemies and bosses

-Basically just a cheap flash game
-Physics are very wonky
-Controls are way too loose

-Graphics options in options menu does not make any changes
-Sluggish even when running at 30 fps
-Gets boring quickly

The Lowdown:

Intrusion 2 is basically an action side scroller(In vein of Metal Slug/ Megaman) that runs via flash. While the 2D/3D graphics are pretty neat, a nice assortment of different weapons to choose from, that is pretty much where it ends. THe game runs at 30 fps but feels to be more in the low teens as everything on screen moves slugggishly, making boss battles difficult to impossible as you can not get the proper timing done.

The controls are very loose making simple adjustments tedious. Best way to describe this is to say your character is moving on ice. On top of a "realistic physics" that makes objects fly in weird manors or sends objects into giant clusters, that block you from getting that much needed health kit.

While the game is your typical action side scroller there is no real fun except in the few boss battles as I got to before giving up, due to the technical issues.

If you are looking to play this game just hit up the demo on those free flash game sites, as you will most likely get your fill there.

This is a good game to play when you're bored and want to play an arcade-y game. My only complaint is the shortness of the game, for the moderately high price tag. I dont mind 10 bucks, but this game kinda only costs like 7 to me. So if you're willing to spend a few extra dollars to play this, be my guest.

One of the greatest platforming shooters, with wonderfully difficult bosses and constant enemies which require different strategies to defeat, as well as one of the best final bosses in any game EVER.

This game lets you ride a "physics wolf' and it seems to have an AI for it's legs...

10/10 worth for the ride alone

Never keep your finger off the trigger. Ride a wolf-horse-thing and eat baddies as you run by them. Grab a mech, throw rocks. Epic boss battles. Snowboard down a mountain with cyborg grenade-throwing ninjas after you. Uhh, yeah this game is great.

You are a one-man action movie. Short, but every second is epic.

This title brought my memory back to the times when I was little and I spend whole evenings playing metal slug with my friends.

I really like how the game kept surprising me with the different kinds of enemies, bosses and environmental interaction you have to toy with in order to progress through the maps. Small details in the game, such as the broken hand of a defeated boss appearing rolling downhill on the background in a flipping the bird position made me giggle often. The bosses really follow the old spirit of this kind of games, you can notice they're scripted and that they follow patterns, but it actually is a big part of the fun and it makes them more characteristic than if they'd just be more adaptive with the situation like bosses from games nowadays do.

I just wish this game would had been a bit longer. I feel I didn't get enough from it. I want more, and if there's a sequel to it as good as this game was, I will mostlikely get it!

This is certainly a technical feat, and visually very awesome. I think I was kind of hoping for something as engaging as Bionic Commando: Rearmed, though, and this falls fall short of that. This uses the new-style physics, which are a big turnoff to be to begin with, and then there just wasn't connection to the game on my part. Nothing really compelled me to keep playing.

Here again, though, if you are a bigger fan of this genre than I am (I'd call this a Contra-like), then this might be just the thing you were looking for. It's by no means a bad game, it's just not something that hooked me personally with its story, its atmosphere, or its mechanics.

Rating: 9/10
Status: Fantastic 2d Action game

The Good:

+ Great sense of action especially the first few levels. Game holds nothing back.
+Great variety of weapons
+ 3 different mechs to pilot
+ AMAZING Last Boss fight. Really surprised me how good it was. Definitly the highlight of the game for me
+ Nice length, does not wear itself out
+ Interesting physics however it can get annoying at times (objects get in your way)

The Bad:

-Controls may be a slight issue, one of the few 2d games where k/m was better than the controller.
-Because of the physics some boss battles may be more reliant on luck than skill
-Can be a bit frustrating at times.

If your looking for a solid 2d action game than this is for you.

Intrusion 2 is basically Metal Slug with physics. Objects get thrown around, trees bend and wobble, and enemies wave their mechanical tentacles around.

I didn’t really care much for the physics, but I guess that’s what made the gameplay a bit different from similar games. The mech designs were cool and the boss battles were epic. The final battle in particular was one of the most insane boss battles I’ve ever played in a game.

My main criticism about Intrusion 2 is that the levels just dragged on for a bit too long. Enemies and scenery just repeated a few times too many. It took me over two hours to play through the game, while Metal Slug fits the same amount of content into a much shorter game with more replay-value.

Fun little Side-scroller that gives a feeling of Super Nintendo games.

First time gameplay by me:

Its like Contra + Donkey Kong.... Contrakong!

Controlls are okay, but not perfect. Visually they have made a good job and there are many fun elements of this game. Brows my videos for Intrusion 2 Gameplay.
