Shopkeeper's Sale: Yin-Yang Pets

Our Shopkeepers tend to have a puckish sense of humor, and when one of them noticed how many black and white pets they had in store, they just had to up the ante and put on a sale. Pets dominated with darkness, others whose fur are as bright as fresh snow and more fully in balance with both. Along with the return of the Pet Adoption Medal, these deals will only be around for the next two weeks, so better grab them fast.

An Anime-stlyed mmorpg, point and click style.
Be what you want and do what you want.

While I may not have many hours here on steam, I mainly played the game prior to having it on steam.
I would recommend this game to any of my friends, and if Tarlach server is joined - then I'll be willing to help people out.

Mabinogi is an MMORPG, with the following unique features:

- Combat
Now, you may think "Combat, every game has that".
While this is true, Mabinogi incorporates many forms of combat, such as:
* Martial Arts
* Ninja Skills
* Magic
* Alchemy
* Puppeteer
* Melee
* Range
* Gunslinger
* Lancer / Knight
* and more!!

- Quests
The Quests is Mabinogi vary from doing something as simple as gathering items, to something as crafty as making an item. They even go to as complicated as following a series of mini-quests and dungeons in order to complete the Quest.

- Housing
Now, the "Housing" in Mabinogi is not your usual home-like area.
The "Homestead" that you own from level 10 onwards, is actually different for everyone depending on their tastes. There are three locations to choose - Human area which is Grasslands, the Elven area which is a Desert, and finally the Giant area which is Snow.
While you get to choose your location, when you level your Homestead up (yes, it has levels!) - you can then build more unique structures. Everyone's Homestead will be different.

- Races
There are three Races to choose from, upon your initial character creation.
Human. Giant. Elf.
Each Race will of course have bonuses and different specialties.
For example - Humans are the only ones who can use two swords.
Elves are extremely amazing Archers, while the Giants have more Health and Strength, and more powerful 2-handed weapons.

- Marriage & Family
Yes, in Mabinogi there is a Marriage system.
You can get Married to the opposite Gender, or even the same Gender!
As for Family - If you get Married, you can create a Family.
A Family can consist of yourself and your partner, and up to 6 Children.
There is a Family Rule that can be set (example: No dropping items). It will reeset every week I believe, and it will show a counter for those who break the rule.

- Pets / Mounts
You can obtain Pets and Mounts in-game.
Most of the better ones are from the Cash Shop (NX / Karma Koin).
Some pets are simply just that - Pets. Both a Pet and a Mount will have inventory for you to store your items. Mounts on the other hand, can be land-based, or have the ability to fly as well.

- Rebirthing
"Rebirth" is something unique this game offers. You can Rebirth every so often up to level 1000 Total, from there onwards you will actually need to Rebirth every week or purchase character cards to use to Rebirth.
Rebirthing a character will give you the option to change your character appearance, level, age and even gender!

- Levels
There are two variants of levels in Mabinogi.
Your level, which is basically your "combat" level. Everything you do will earn you exp, which will contribute to this level.
There is also Exploration levels. To level this up, you basically have to do Exploration Quests, or go out into the Wilds in Iria (Elves and Giant area), and search for unique hidden objects and items, which you can trade in for EXP and Gold.

To level up anything, you will need AP which can be granted upon every level up.
The higher your ranks go in a skill, the more AP it will require to level up.

- Ranks
Skill ranks go from the following order (worst to best)
1 - Max Rank

And now, to my favourite part...

- Non-Combat Skills
Non-Combat Skills are extremely variable.
Want to spend your time Cooking tasty treats? Become a Chef!
Feel like crafting your own Clothes? Become a Tailor!
Want to laze around and spend your time Fishing? Then do so!

There are many non-combat skills to find and master.
The one unique one which makes Mabinogi different than other games, is simply my favourite;
Musical Instruments & Composing.
You can re-create songs inside of Mabinogi.

Want to play Skyrim Theme? Done.
Want to play Game of Thrones theme tune? Done.
Pokemon Battle Theme? Done.

If you wish to give it a go and enjoy playing, feel free to play with us.

10/10 Would die due to server lag again, thanks Nexon love knowing I can count on you! <3

...But really, I'm gonna be writing a serious review here. I love this game so I'm recommending it, Mabinogi is a fun, casual game to pick up and play at your own leisure. Currently my main problem is the combat. Ever since I first started playing this game some six or seven years ago I've noticed one major thing; Nexon's server stability is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t. If you play this game with the idea that you're going to mainly be combat oriented, you're gonna have a bad time!

Combat in this game is all about picking your battles wisely. Two key factors in combat is lag and targeting. I've already talked about lag so let's talk about targeting. Unless you're good at pointing your mouse in very specific places, you're gonna wanna hold ctrl to auto-target the nearest enemy to your mouse. Now, this isn't a bad thing... unless you're fighting a large boss monster. I'm in the beginner dungeon trying to target a giant red spider when his little buddies are nowhere near my mouse, yet I target them anyways and aggro unwanted enemies, thus getting myself killed.

That aside, this game has a number of features that make for a great atmosphere. The soundtrack, for example is one of the best I've ever heard in a free-to-play MMORPG. Not only that but you have the ability to pick up an instrument, write your own music and then play said music. The only other game I've seen that implemented would be in LOTRO so this feature is a huge thumbs up in my books.

Mabinogi offers a wide range of skills from combat to magic to simple gathering and crafting. Each skill has a rank and the more you work on the skills the more training it gets to the next rank. Before ranking it up you need to spend AP which is gained when you level up. Back when I first played this game AP was really hard to come by so you had to pick and choose what skills you want to work on, the same can't be said now as I have more AP than I know what to do with! Personally, this is a bad thing hiding underneath a good thing. Having all this AP means that you can work on more skills, but at the same time it means that everyone can pretty much be a jack-of-all-trades. This bothers me slightly because it takes away from the idea of players specializing in specific things, constructively forcing them to work together.

Community is...well, as I said in my review of WAKFU, you have to know where to look for them. Sure you'll see a group of people hanging out in the Human starter town in channel 1 of any given server, but aside from that I don't see many people aside from your everyday player running to and from one place to another, too busy to stop and chat. There are guildstones placed all over the place, you can click on them to bring up information about that guild. You can also just pull up the guild interface and search for guilds so I find the guildstones pretty redundant. There are also guilds recruiting on Nexon's official forums as well as community forums, which gives the opportunity to speak to the leader or recruiters before joining.

There are more features about this game that I'm missing, I'll be editing this review at a later date but I thought I should add some more of the game's core features to the review since it was originally pretty bland. I still recommend this game and even though I talk about negative points it is still a great game that you absolutely must experience at least once. Thank you for reading!
