Lugh Lamhfada Update

With the continued story, a new battle area ascending to the peak of Ben Chenner and a new Raid, Chapter 1 of Season 3 ends with a bang as Lugh Lamhfada takes the field.

Season 3 - Episode 4
The fighting over Ben Chenner continues. Soldiers continue their way up the mountain, escorting mages, scholars and priests, but even as fewer come back down, no casualties are ever reported... and the Royal Army is only spurred on by their 'flawless victories'. This bizarre curse must be stopped before there are no soldiers left to fight. The search for a solution leads only further up the mountain of Ben Chenner... but the fighting only grows as you get closer to the peak.

New Raid: Lugh Lamhfada
Lost to history and wielding the mythical sword Fragarach, Lugh Lamhfada seeks retribution against those who have forgotten his glory and disregarded his honor. Will you have the courage to face the lost hero and at long last put his spirit to rest?

Lugh Lamhfada is a powerful warrior, but he's no master swordsman. Between his own magic and the unfathomable power of Fragarach, he has no need for finesse in his attacks. He instead uses quick bursts of teleportation to surprise his opponents with overpowering blows. Lugh can also pin a foe to the ground, making them vulnerable to his attacks if not defended in time.

Fragarach isn't Lugh Lamhfada's only weapon, however. Periodically during the fight, Lugh will rise into the air and bombard the area with Tathlums, mystical orbs that will explode violently... but they can also be collected to negate their explosion and give you a much needed edge against the ancient warrior.

Those that manage to overcome Lugh Lamhfada's teleporting attacks and collection of magical attacks will find components and the recipes for a new set of items. This Cloth armor set is crafted through the Composite system, but the Lugh Lamhfada keystone items can only be found by defeating the ancient warrior himself or through the new Lugh Lamhfada Battle Box.

St. Patrick's Day Outfits and More

St. Patrick's Day is only a week away, and the St. Patrick's outfit is back for the occasion! This bright green suit for both the ladies and the gents is the perfect way to show your Irish pride! They arrive with the new Lugh Lamhfada Battle Box coming with a special bonus and also includes a bright green hair color available for all hair styles, a new Inner Armor and more!

Easter Egg Events

Easter's coming soon, and Ernmass in Colhen is looking for some help to get the yearly celebration off the ground. In addition to claiming Easter Eggs for the Fluffy Halo item, there's a pair of events giving you more departures to take down Lugh Lamhfada and gain a special reward for showing your mastery over him.

Find out more in the Easter Egg Events post.

Spring Has Arrived

Karok Unleashed Update

In 2015, Lann, Fiona and Evie all experienced a rebirth in power that bestowed upon them new attacks, new abilities, and more powerful techniques making them equals among their counterparts. With the first update of 2016, another warrior has emerged from his training, ready to bring about another round of mayhem in Vindictus as the Karok Unleashed update has arrived!

Karok Unleashed

There's a lot to go into, as nearly every skill Karok has is getting a polish. Even Karok's body is not immune to the changes, as two new sliders have been added to the character customization menu: Head and Proportion.

Head does exactly what it sounds like, increasing or decreasing the size of Karok's skull to better fit with the variety of body sizes. Proportion, on the other hand, controls how Karok's muscles fit on his massive frame, the traditional heavy bulk, or taller with a more lean feel. These sliders can be selected when creating a new Karok or modified with an Appearance Alteration Coupon.

But don't let his looks be all that defines him, there's plenty of new abilities and changes that Karok can make use of with any weapon!

Check out the official Vindictus website for more information: http://vindictus.nexon.net/news/7150/karok-unleashed-update

There are a lot of MMO's out there each with their own benefits and downsides, some good and some bad, but if you were to ask me about Vindictus, I'd probably say it's good... Really good.

- The game has really good combat, you don't just press a button and then the attack happens, you actually have combos you need to do. (There are active abilities were you press a button and the attack happens, but you have to aim it and sometimes have to follow it up with something else) Also attack animation look good and are fluent.

- Some options on weapons for each class, not stuck with just 1 weapon type. (ex. Karok = Pillar/Cestus - Evie = Staff/Battle Scythe)

- Interact with the environment, collect resources, breakable/grabbable items.

- THE LORE/STORY, I believe the story and dialouge are AMAZING! It was one of the reason I still play the game. (Kinda rip season 2)

- Very little pay2win/play feature that are immediatly apparent to the game ( Immediatly apparent pay2win/play feartures would be Something that will CHANGE the game, like not being able to go to a certain area or equip armor because you need to buy a subscription / ticket with real money)

- Each class has a gender lock on it so if the class is a male, you're going to be a male character. (This is a problem for some people)

- Some stages you have to repeat, which can get boring / make the story seem odd (Killing the same boss 2 or 3 times... He's already dead the first time right?

- Combat can get repetitve when trying to defeat big bosses or when you are trying to farm.

- There is some RNG on some max level gear. You might be trying to add or increase stats, this can result in adding or increasing a stat, or decreasing a stat which is a waste of time, gold, and it ruins your gear.

PRO/CON MIX (Thing I'm unsure of)

- If you spend money on the game, the RNG factor is not as big of a threat as it would be if you didn't spend money. The reason I do not put this as a con is because all it does it just make you're enchanting faster. You can do all of this without having to spend money, it just takes more time and you have to be commited to the game (Now if your gear gets destoryed thats a different problem...). What i'm saying is that the game IS [[[NOT PAY TO WIN/PAY]]] in my opinion, but rather it IS [[[PAY TO LOOK COOL/PAY TO DO STUFF FASTER]]].

The game is okay early on but as soon as you get to level 70-90 and unlock season two it gets really codependent where you literally have to join parties and you have to farm items for because collecting 100,000,000 gold for a level 70 armor set is next to impossible. But overall fun game

Quick Summary: Vindictus for PVE grinding only. Classes are imbalanced and heavily gear dependent in PVP. Grinding involves RNG drops, meaning that you might have to do an instance many times to get what you want. Enchantment system is pure RNG, with chance to downgrade your enchancement level once you go past +10. Cash Shop items can prevent this. Endgame PVE revolves around Raids, where you have to get meet certain DPS benchmarks to even be considered for boats.

Did i also mention overpriced cosmetics and pervy underwear?

Lag and recent Optimization quirks will make you rage sometime.

WTB Lynn buffs.

In the meantime I'm heading off to play Black Desert Online which is like the Sandplot MMO version of Vindictus only without (p2W) enchancement cash shop items and with an added addition of Open World pvp and GvG.

Vindictus is a neat little MMORPG that i found completely by accident. Though it mildly repetitive the game is incredibly fun. Bring your friends and dont look at other players. (they all have paid for armour that makes you wish you had that much disposable income)

One of the most unique MMORPGs out there: the fighting mechanics are fluid and fun (action based, not ability based), the boss fights are glorious (one mistake can result in incapacitation in some instances: gotta dodge/block or you're toast), and the community seems pretty friendly. Top this cake off with a really in-depth storyline (a few cliches, but still really enjoyable) and a complex customization system makes for a delicious and fun game, hands down one of my favorites.

10/10 [insert IGN joke here]

While I really do enjoy the mechanics and everything about the game, the amount of latency that I receieved (as well as most players) really ruined it for me. It would take minutes to load dialogue sometimes, PvP (almost nonexistant as it was) was impossible with the lag, ect. Good game, bad servers.

Considering this game? Everything basic that you should know:
-As of this review, all characters are arguably more balanced than they've ever been. Choose anyone you want.
-You can't "screw up" a build in this game. Ability points are infinite and are acquired through dungeon completion.
-Everything prior to level 60 is one long, extended tutorial that forces you to learn your character.
-Level 59 and below is pretty boring, but leveling is VERY fast in this game, and the game really picks up with 8 man raids in the level 60-90 zone.

-Real time action. Hot keys are not required to do combos. They're mostly used for potions, ultimate skills, and stimulants.
-The game makes HUGE use of invulnerability frames. If you time it right, you can literally dodge roll straight into someone's attack and "eat it" entirely. It's one of those games.
-Very polished battle mechanics and animations. Completely blows C9, RaiderZ, Blade and Soul, Tera, and Dragon Nest out of the water in this respect. Unfortunately, aside from core gameplay, these games outdo Vindictus in pretty much everything else, which I will cover:

-Can be beautiful. It's a nice looking game, no doubt.
-POORLY OPTIMIZED. You will need an inordinately powerful CPU to run the game at 60 fps, if you're that kind of guy.
-The network is handled through p2p. The host usually has no issues with lag, but the rest of the party is at the whims of the host's network strength.

Cash Shop:
-Wide array of cosmetics you can buy, like hairstyles, makeup, skin color/body type, "inner armor" (bikinis and ♥♥♥♥), and pets.
-You cannot effectively maximize your potential in this game without spending cash. "Runes" (to protect your equipment from breaking during enhancement) are only available in the cash shop (save a few exceptions, such as event giveaways) and are required to min-max your crap at endgame.
-The only workaround from spending cash is to save a crapton of gold and farm valuable items to simply purchase pre-enchanted/enhanced armor. The RNG in this game is not as bad as it used to be, but it's still pretty bad.

Despite these weaknesses, Vindictus is still a good game, provided you have a wallet and friends to play with.
Definitely give this a try.

Great live action combat. Great use of low poly along with high texture diffuses. Could use some more voice acting. For some reason there are a lot of high level players who are standing around doing nothing. My over all score for Vindictuse is an 8/10.

It's fun, but in the long run you will be crippled if you're unwilling to spend money

The combat system is honestly one of the best I've played for an MMO, even beating out melee oriented action games of the singleplayer variety. The characters have unique playstyles, stylish moves and a great degree of combat is based on player skill. Some of the boss battles are insanely fun, and the fights are engaging so you dont feel like you're just stabbing a giants toe until he keels over. One character can even use his strength to stop certain boss attacks mid-swing and enter a clash of strength if you can time it correctly. It feels pretty badass to save a party member from a potentially fatal blow and in the process hold the boss down for your other teammates to kick his ♥♥♥♥ in

Unfortunately these attributes are hampered by the fact that end game content is severely walled off. Most of the end game raid partys which are level 80-90 will require a high amount of ATT stat (which is what attack damage is based on), to the point where if you dont upgrade your weapons, its unlikely you will break that ceiling. Although this sounds normal the problem lies here

Upgrading your gear is EXTREMELY RNG dependant. The blacksmith may weaken your items durability and reset all enhancements hes previously done on it back to 0, or just outright destroy it at higher ranks. The magician can enchant your item with special qualities, but once again this is RNG dependant and can damage your gear if it fails.
But of course there is a way to prevent these outcomes: $$MONEY$$

If you want any realistic chance of upgrading your rare and difficult to obtain weapon to a respectable level, you will NEED either cash shop items or a large amount of resources and attempts. Dont think for a second that other people dont use these items either, pretty much everyone you see will have at least +8 weapons on high level raids. You CAN get these items from events, but they are one use only and quite rare. They aren't guaranteed successes either, they just protect your weapon from getting damaged, so you could stockpile 4 of them from events and level milestones only to reach enhancement level 7.

The game would be a 9/10 for me if it wasnt so dependant on RNG to make progress late game. You can try it up to around level 70, before the RNG kicks in too hard, but after that I wouldn't recommend it. But if you like to gamble or have a plenty of cash on hand, go for it.

if you think I'm overblowing the whole RNG thing, you can check the wiki for the RNG tables yourself : http://vindictus.gamepedia.com/Item_Enhancement But keep in mind, the upgrades are not equally spread, so going from +2 to +3 doesnt have anywhere near the same effect as going from +6 to +7

TL:DR End game is a slot machine for necessary gear upgrades, and the community is on life support since black desert came out

A wonderful idea, ruined by F2P cash grab mechanics in the form of extremely expensive weapon upgrades, healing potions and revive items. The grind is now quite long, and there is an almost complete lack of incentive to continue doing content that isn't top tier raid stuff for high level players, leaving the lower level group content very difficult to finish. So much potential dashed away by bad monetary practice. They also once let the servers flounder for over 3 months.

This game is very addicting and I like the different map layouts. However I have been noticing more and more bugs with the use of my spellsword. The space bar would not work and would actually glitch the game where I could not do anything but run around. The game needs more debugging before updates are released, in my opinion. However, I do enjoy the storyline and how there is a Main Quest and different Side Quests. I would reccommend playing if you have a group of friends that you want to play a MMORPG and build a guild with.

This game used to be great. Now its a unoptimized, lagging, 90% P2W fest.

Wind the clock back a few years (to a time before it was on Steam) This game was amazing and I put easily another 200 hours into the game in addition to the hours shown on Steam.

Take Dark Souls combat, speed it up by 10x and give it more depth. Add some of the most badass music, awesome enemies, and the most flashy/beautiful combat animations and graphics and you had Vindictus at its peak.
Heck it was just barely grindy, it had awesome combat, every fight felt awesome, you looked awesome, you felt awesome.

In fact, to this day/time I've posted this review, I still have yet to find an MMO with combat as engaging, dynamic and as action packed as Vindictus.

Tera? Blade and Soul? PFFFT, not even close to the speed and fluidity of Vindictus.

But now to the present. Vindictus has gone down hill, and Nexons only fked up it further with their greedy ♥♥♥ cashgrabbing.

First off, as I've said before, the game lags like ♥♥♥♥ now for larger raids (it used to be so much more fluid). Only the smaller runs retain most of the fluidity.
I have 55.80Mbps download speed, and 9.85Mbps upload speed with 12MS ping.
I'm also running a pretty high end gaming setup, over $1k easily

And this game is still choppy as hell on LOW-MED settings. Not matter how badass your combat is if your frames are ♥♥♥♥ and everything is teleporting/choppy as fk the game will still feel like ♥♥♥♥.

2nd off. 90% P2W. The community can be very elitist. and I mean VERY elitist.
If you don't hit a certain level of attack, they will kick you out of the raiding party. Why? Because if you don't have good damage, the end game bosses take forever to kill.

Why are they made to be so hard to kill? Well because Nexon wants to sell you stuff for real money

Often times you needed to enhance your weapons to +11 atleast. And guess what. The success chance for said enhances are stupidly low.

Why are they stupidly low? So Nexon can sell you items that can "protect" your items from being destroyed when you fail a high level enhance. AND THEY ARE ONLY 1 TIME USES
In short, if you do not spend real money on buying Nexon's items to insure your weapons (which you grinded weeks for btw), you are relying on a very unfavourable RNG system that will most likely destroy your weapon.

I've asked a lot of high level players about how much they've spent on these "protection" items for their weapons. the majority of them have spent over 100 DOLLARS.

Here is a direct quote from one of them said: "If you like the game and want to get better then you should be spending money. If you're not gonna spend money that just means you aren't dedicated enough, 100 dollars means nothing if you are dedicated enough"

So I'm not joking when I said a large amount of the community is elitist. Nexon is just feeding off this way of thinking, just like Konami is with Yugioh. Both communities believe that you need to spend a lot of money constantly to be good.

So. finally, the question you are probably looking for: Is this game worth playing?
Yes, and No.

From levels 1-50 this game hella fun and I would recommend it to everyone for sure. This is a prime example of hack and slash combat done right. And you will still feel awesome when playing this game (when it doesn't lag)

9-10/10 at this point. But this doesn't last too long btw, the majority of the time is still in late late game

from levels 50-60, the flaws start showing but this game is still decent.

It gets a bit more grindy here but still a solid 8/10 when it doesn't lag

60-70. the game just takes a sudden drop, and ♥♥♥♥ gets surpringly grindy. And with bigger raids the lag really starts to creep in

I'd recommend you stop playing by the end of this point. 5-6/10

70-80-90 is the grinding pay to win fest. If you don't have +11s, chances are, you're getting kicked out of every end game boat unless you meet some truly kind people.
In order to excel in these levels you need to
1. Have a lot of disposable income,

2. find someone willing to sell their old weapons for ingame cash (get ready to gold farm)

3. get lucky as fk with the RNG system and +11 your stuff unprotected (PS: GL with that)

After 1246 hours and maxing 2 characters (mostly because I'm too lazy to max other characters, the second one took about 3 weeks to max), I feel I can write an appropriate review for this game.
It's great if you don't mind having to work for what you want. Be it grinding for pieces to make higher level weapons or armor. Joining a guild with people that you like is a big bonus as they can both help you improve and become great friends.
This game is best starting with a few people, you can easily do it alone, but obviously it's more fun with a group, as most things are.
The biggest complaint I've read in reviews is it being pay to win, but considering the most anyone pays for is underwear (best they give you really ugly long johns to start with) and other cosmetics, it's not really a big factor. You can be just as successful in the game playing during events, and grinding for what you need.
It's really a shame that the community is continuing to shrink, it really is a great game, especially for free. I have both an east and west coast character, the west seeming more of a stable economy, but the east seems more favoriable to newer players from what I've viewed.

Was an awesome game and it still is, but nowadays all you have are people that are op. Lets say you're level 30 and you're currently doing a map that's for level 30s you can't solo it because it's way too hard so you start a party boat hoping other people will join, then BAM! You wasted 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hour waiting for people to join your boat when nobody obviously will and you're forced to solo it.

And the raid? omg the raids...
You're doing a big boy raid (big boy raid meaning a raid that ops love to spam) and you're so excited that you're going to take part in a dangerous task of defeating a destructive beast, then BAM! Every op in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ room kills it in 3 minutes and they all bag on you for not doing anything at all.

So after facing that humiliation you "oh I'll just get stronger and prove it to them". Yeah? good luck soloing ever dungeon trying to complete every side quest just to level up and get bored trying.

When this game was first released in 2010 when I was 12 years old it was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun, channels 1-7 where full of people and every dungeon you did always had people starting a party boat in them, your friend list would fill up because when you need to do a dungeon the first thing you see is what party boats are available and they make it more obvious than the create your own party boat option.

My point is this game is fun to play friends but extremly boring when you make op level friends and they carry you all the way to level 80. It was fun when you slashed monsters with the other people the same as your level, it was fun doing a raid where what you do matters and the intensity of trying to defeat it with other people but having a hard time because you actually need to cooperate with them. Now it's all "LETS DPS THE ♥♥♥♥ OF EVERYTHING ERHURHURHUR!!!"

The only thing that would maybe make this better if a bunch of new players, baby boomer status, would start playing.

Nexon, fk your sht you d-bag, get that pay-to-win bs out of the game you sitting pile of buffalo diarrhea and dig those elephant turd out of your ears and start listening to your players voices because I know I'm not the only guy who's fed up listening to nexon's language of dipsht. Nexon, you make me want to move to Korea and play with their service than this tub of lard that you're providing us. Start a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ poll or maybe a suggestion topic in the forums, start listening to us already what's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard about doing that?! I already have two accounts outside of steam banned, one was for ticketing them that I had a rare that says I obtained it in the chat log but didn't show in my inventory and two, this wasen't even my fault at all, for making false transaction. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ WHAT?! NEXON PLEASE EITHER LISTEN TO US OR ♥♥♥♥♥♥ HIRE PEOPLE THAT WILL ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING!

I can into this game acting like Mako from Kill la kill, I'm 17 and I feel like tourettes guy tenfold. The only reason why I play anymore is because I have friends in there that I don't want to disappoint.

Try it. Judge it your self. The Game doesn't really pick up till you're lvl 80'ish, so you won't get an accurate description of the game from comments alone. Many people who quit either quit to early to really experience vindictus or quit because this game is "pay to win". The only reason this game would be pay to win is if you buy gold (which is against vindictus rules) so the game it self does not implement a pay to win system, how about runes you might ask... there's events for that. Vindictus does alot of events that gives away free runes. How about vip? vip does nothing more than add stats that is barely noticable at end game content, +100 att or so when my att is 23-24k. VVIP? adds goddess graces which is totally not needed if you're in a party and or have a guild. In my opinion you can consider lvl 1-59 (Fairly easy to reach) the tutorial for this game. lvl 60 the introduction to "real raids". lvl 70 the grind of getting to end game. However I suggest not judging the game until you reach at least lvl 80 at this point since most of the content unlocks at lvl 80.

Great movement and combat, but it feels enclosed because of the non-open word attributes.

I love this game! It's really funny that you can interact with objects like grab monsters and throw them. As usual, I grab goblins because they're so tiny and they do damage to monsters. I really do like the game but however since it's free it's kind of like to pay to win. But still game is fun and the variety of characters are really interesting and awesome to play.

Don't you dare. Do not click install. Don't. DOOOOON'T.

This game. I know this game well. Like how well I know that ♥♥♥♥♥ down the street. Like with that strumpet, I wonder if I'm ploughing her or if she ploughs me. Judging by my super-AIDS i assumed the latter. This game will trick you into thinking it's really fun. Because it is. The combat is fantastic. I love it. But absolutely everything else about this game is God-awful. When you start out, it seems really fun. Then you get to the gear and stat grind. It's so bad. It's so damn bad. Nexon took a gem and tossed into a poop pile. 150 damn exquisite iron ores.

Me and the other warlord of my clan decided to try out vindi again for the sick ♥♥♥ raid bosses, since warframe was being DDOSsed. We are towards the end game now, and holy crap FORGET exquisite iron ore. Most armor sets or weapons require an extraordinary amount of how high level ore. Iron comes from speckled turds in the instanced dungeons. One or two spawn. In season 2, u have a chance at getting lowest tier, second tier, third, or low chance at exquisite ores. Usually second tier drops. It requires 4 third tiers to craft exquisite.
These sets require a total of 150 damn exquisite ores, among 20 count drops from raid bosses that are only dailies. Then their is the horrible enhance and enchant system. It's recommended to get a weapon to plus 8 to be any kind of viable. From +5-+8, the percent of success goes to 50%, to 40%. Failure resets rank to 0 and lowers durability, and takes the stones (more grind) you used. Buuut if u buy nexon cash, you can get runes that prevent those effects upon failure. No way to get nexon in game like Warframe btw. No discounts either. Enchants of a good rank only have 50% to 40% of success, but u can increase that by buying ♥♥♥♥. Failure lowers durability and can break weapon for the good enchants. But guess what, u can buy a rune (nexon obviously) that saves your ♥♥♥. Vindictus' gameplay is ♥♥♥♥ing fantastic, but the system built around it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t and promotes pay2win.
At least you can get the parts for a frame in a day, at least formas and potatoes have NO failure chance, and at least you can get plat and resources BY PLAYING THE DAMN GAME.

Its pretty cool.. I'm not a fan of the questing system, lack of freedome, etc. Still better than most of the MMOs that I have played.

Great game with tight combat and overpowered characters, but I swear Nexon's dev team consisted of construction workers because the amount of paywalls.

do yourself a favor and dont spend $25 on ingame clothes and hair.
