Alternative special modules for ships!

Pilots! UMC engineers continue to upgrade the most popular and sought-after mercenary ships. Now all pilots with Styx, Hyena and Sword-S ships can choose different specialized modules for these ships before battle.

Alternative special module ‘Styx combat drones’, every 30 seconds produces a combat drone, which attacks the enemy and dels thermal damage. Can also recharge shields of allied ships and destroy enemy devices.

‘ODG Mantis’ for Hyena is able to make the ship invisible for 15 seconds. At the same time the ship is accelerated by 30%. Upon exiting invisibility, the ship's damage is increased by 20% for 5 seconds. Also note the low, only 80 pts., power consumption of the special module and fast enough recharging - 35 sec.

‘Sword S Diffusion Shield’ surrounds the ship with an additional shield that lasts for 12 seconds. At this time, the shield absorbs all damage. If the ship's energy is depleted, the shield will disappear. Upon deactivation the module restores shield charge for allies! Module range is 3600 meters, and recharge time - 30 seconds.

Check out the details on our official Forums!

Regards,
Star Conflict Team

Story

Three thousand years have passed since the first colonists left Earth. Now the galaxy is divided between the militant star empires and independent mercenary groups. In a remote corner of the galaxy — Sector 1337, the area of the dead — a world has been left behind. Here, the ruins of a great civilization of Aliens have recently been discovered. Huge factories and sprawling cities are falling into decay. Fragments of ships lie on the fields where massive battles were once fought. But there is not a living soul. Everything has been destroyed by a mysterious Cataclysm — a pulsing anomaly that burned out all life within this sector.

This doesn’t stop mankind, the new «owner» of the Universe. Mercenaries and adventurers have flocked to the sector to sift through the ruins and loot its abandoned artifacts, without consideration of the danger. Many have disappeared — including members of well-armed expeditions — but those who have managed to return have uncovered unprecedented riches. So looters continue to come here, to find the Aliens’ lost treasures — and to fight for them.

I recomend this game, and yet there are parts I'm not thrilled with. At it's core, Star Conflict, is a really fun and exciting space combat game. It's one of those games, that you'll keep coming back to, because it's just that fun. It's well put together, engaging, and the controls are easy to learn and master. It's one of those free to play games, that makes me want to kick the dev a few bucks, so they'll keep making more games, and updates to this one. I find the open space area, to be fun to explore, and I enjoy the mission. It does a great job at play emmersion. That being said....there are some issues. I find that the leveling system leavl isn't fair. Instead of earning experience for completing missions and winning battles for one of the three fractions. You level up by buying ships. Said ships only become available by leveling up the previous ships on the ladder. This requires synergy, an arbitary experience point system, that is mostly allocated to a single ship. There is free synergy that isn't bound to a specfic ship, but the amount of free synergy that you earn is a pittence compared to the ship specfic synergy. As you move up the synergy scale, the amount of synergy you need to level up grows at a staggering rate. Often bumping up by 5-10 thousand synergy. Not only that, but the open space area only opens at level 6. That area offers the most opurtunites to earn synergy and gather curency. You can transfer synergy from fully leveled up ships, and from premium ships, but this costs standards. The primary curency that is mostly gathered from in game purcheses, or dlc packs. It is infrequently given out in game, so the only way to get large amounts of it, is to buy it. Also cosmetic options for your ships, are bought with standards, and can cost the equivalent of 2-3 real world dollars. They also are ship specific. Meaning for example, if I bought an American flag for one ship, it wouldn't be able to be used for another ship. Said flag cost 100 standards, about 1 US dollar. I know this is a small amount in relation, but it stacks up after awhile. The cosmetics needs to be purchasble through the regualr curency, not premuim. At the end of the day, I do recomend this game, but the negitives might be enough to keep someone from playing, which is a shame, because at it's core, Star Conflict is a blast to play. I give it a 7/10, A good game, but flawed.

If Star Conflict would have been a pvp only game or an arena only game I never would have tried it...but...it also has pve, missions in open space and enemies that stop you from traveling too far in what you might think is a good ship. I have ships up to level 8 now, some elite, and barely can do missions 2 gates out from the base. Theres a ton to see yet, when you are ready. I really think even at level 12 there will be lots to do. The game looks decent graphically, and the ships are nice to look at too with a wide range of weapons.Really wish there was first person piloting but oh well.

Like most FTP games it has a shop and without it you will grind for a long time to get good ships. The new detroyers are only available if you build one, and that takes quite a while, so grinding is standard for many things, and ships level 8 or higher can cost a million or more. So you'll need a lot of time or cash to become really sucessful here, but it is fun, so how you do it is up to you.

After the ELITIST Max Level players complained that the game was too easy, the devs ramped it up so muxh that the AI Bots can waste you in less than two minutes. No longer fun to play in any way.

Any attempt to show this to the devs results in locked forum threads and them climing the had no issues in X amount of games with no proof to show this.

Another "Hurry up and wait" battle arena game. I was intitially excited at the concept of space dogfighting in this game, but right off the bat it feels sluggish and bland. Three matches and I'm out.

Star Conflict is a nearly flawless space combat simulator. The complexities and the fun of this space combat build slowly through the levels, starting from a very high standard and getting better from there. There is an adequate crafting minigame and some half-baked questing. Optimizing the ship is made up of several minigames taken collectively. Optimization in its several pieces makes up a good, fun minigame.
There are areas of the game in need of improvement, yet the game as a whole is certainly in the top ten percent of space simulators. This review makes the case that Star Conflict is easily THE BEST f2p space combat simulator. We will not dwell on the shortcomings here, because the idea here is that you should just enjoy the game as it is at any given time and mostly let the devs worry about how to improve it. Overall, this is a great game.
If you are very diligent in researching the reviews, you will find many reviews that say, "This game used to be great, but they ruined it." These people are trying to help you, and they are giving you their honest opinion. But they are limited in focus to the particular changes that annoyed them, and most of them would admit they are not really reviewing the game as a whole.
Here is the real reason for all the "They ruined the game!" reviews: When the devs make something new, they want the community to step into the new material and try it out. Therefore, an almost any game that has ongoing development, NEW STUFF IS ALWAYS OVERPOWERED. Once everyone has tried it, the devs scale it back into balance with the rest of the game. Some of the 'they ruined it' reviews are due to new stuff coming in overpowered, and some of these reviews are due to previously overpowered content finally being balanced with the rest of the game.
The game is living and evolving. This is a good thing! Your investment in this game will be rewarded with all kinds of new adventures, and the fun never stops. Yes, read all the reviews. But please understand the underlying reasons for the huge variety of reviews is a very good thing: a great game that grows and evolves over time. What are you waiting for?

Let me open by saying, I REALLY want to recommend this game. Truely. And if the game was as it was around when I first started playing (about three years ago), I would. But as it stands, I simply cannot. I loved this game before. The PvP, while quirky and a bit biased towards premium ships, was fairly balanced. And the PvE was great and a simple way to get your daily win in if MM was being a pain, or if you just weren't doing so hot against a player. Then the slow descent started. And then there were destroyers. At first, I was SO hyped for destroyers. then it came that they were acquired with components gained mainly through PVP, and very rarely, the "open world", which was broken as hell.
PVP has degraded to destroyer battles, and occasionaly a player with something other than a destroyer getting casually swatted away by one who does. And as another reviewer has said, you can determine if you're going to win or lose by the first few minutes of a match.
And then PvE. Originally it was great. A challenge if you were new, inexperienced, foolish, or just had a stock ship. But if you knew what you were doing and had good gear, it was a simple way to grind money for new gear/ships. I remember taking a couple Premium Tier 3 frigates and a tier 3 fighter and grinding missions for a few hours and only now and then encountering trouble by accidently aggroing a bunch of mooks at once (a bunch being 7-10). The enemies were usually fighters and interceptors en masse, and occasionaly a frigate or two. Now, I take the same three ships out and get put up against multiple destroyers at a time, and non destroyers are controlled by an AI that (I assume) is designed to mimic a human pilot, but with ridiculous buffs that come with being a bot: Always accurate attacks, All Seeing AI, super reflexes, you get the idea. great for the VS bot arena. Not great for the PvE scenario set ups. Ive had interceptors (2 guns) with railguns (bad vs shields) strip my guard (read: tank) frigate's kinetic shields (even stronger vs railguns than usual) in a couple seconds when bot controlled, but players taking much longer.
Overall, Gaijin took what was good, set it on a table, and proceeded to violently flip said table. It was good, not so much any more.

Final Verdict: If you have to have a gaijin game, get War Thunder. Russian bias aside, its much better built/balanced. Otherwise steer clear. There are better space based games to have.

Very similar to WOT overall. I thought it was fairly fun although rather predictable, and obviously unbalanced when premade teams obliterate everyone on the other team. The small maps are impossible to play on, as soon as one team starts winning they spawn camp you and you can't run away. The combat itself is actually very slick and well done, but the ship control it very annoying especially on frigates. You don't have to grind much at all thanks to the missions, but some of the missions are very missleading e.g. the leviathan mission I had no clue what to do at all and just gave up and never tried it again. Probably not worth spending money on, all it does it get you things faster rather than give you a better experience. Overall, not bad but needs sharpening up. (also I can run the game on a crap laptop with minimum graphics perfectly fine)

If you have played Endless Sky, this game is for you, but this game does have its drawbacks too. Sure, the game has a nice PvP/PvE system, but there should really be some solo tasks as well as an expansive ability to upgrade or even build your own ships from the ground up. One of the nicer features is being able to collect loot, but what good is that loot for other than selling it or letting it collect until you get a certain rank to be able to use it, and even then not be able to use it period? The authors should really do some revisions to make this game both have a better crafting system and to allow some single player battles against ships of your own class with difficulty settings that can offer more perks for challenging levels and ranks higher than your own.
