What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Awake is in Early Access because it's a living project and dependent on the community to thrive. We will craft and reshape the experience to accommodate, surprise, and challenge players and to execute our vision.

The game is not up to par with full release quality. We need more time to feel out and balance the experience. Everyone on our team is committed to doing our part to stabilize, deepen and improve the game. Together, we can create a dreamlike world of puzzles and possibilities.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for about a year.

Full release will mark the completion of our story. It will be available once the art and narrative beats are a lot, lot more polished and we have added the other features and changes we envision the final game to have. The game must become “smoother” with better feedback and flow for us to deem it ready for full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full release will mark a huge difference in the quality and stability of our game. We will add everything from new features and playable puzzles to small user experience tweaks.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the game includes the core gameplay elements but it needs further stability and polish. Most of all we believe the experience needs a stronger art treatment and clear narrative deliverable. We hope that players can see our efforts and feel the direction that we are headed towards in the current game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Nope! We currently have no intentions to monetize Awake, purely doing this to hone our skills as developers.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Awake has gone through extensive iterations and playtesting to achieve the game you see today. We plan on integrating bug reporting and feedback options to our games to better learn of problems with the current game and see where players want it to go. We look forward to reading your feedback.”
