I love Bully. It is my favorite open-world game and is my favorite game of all time. I love Red Dead and GTA, but not everyone has been a cowboy or a criminal, but everyone's gone to school. You may not relate excatly to Jimmy but you will relate to him more than John Marston or any GTA character. Also the level of customization is something I havent really seen in any other Rockstar games, making Jimmy your Jimmy and interesting. I have played this to death, and you should too.

I suppose a gun mod would be a pretty tasteless and bad idea for this game.

One of the best sandbox-style games I've ever played! Bully beautifully weaves tweaked Grand Theft Auto gameplay with the universally relatable life story of young Jimmy Hopkins. The setting of a fictional New England boarding school and the nearby town of Bullworth are perfect for this kind of story, following Jimmy as he faces the same challenges that every kid faces growing up, like keeping up with schoolwork, fighting back against bullies, experiencing your first kiss, causing chaos through pranks and hijinks, and finding acceptance between various cliques and social groups.

The writing is brilliant, supplying a colorful cast of characters, missions, and story arcs. Including Jimmy himself, all of the NPCs seem practically handcrafted with the amount of personality and detail put into them. Each character has a unique model, and their own unique set of dialogues and animations. On top of these fantastically created characters, the plot is just as good. I was immersed into a world that I could have sworn was from an 80's Hollywood flick, drawing inspiration from coming-of-age tales like those of Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Catcher in the Rye. With such a wonderfully realistic world full of jocks, preps, nerds, and other odd townfolk, I almost wish that my own school days growing up were as interesting as those of Bullworth Academy.

The gameplay is just as entertaining, using similar mechanics to GTA, such as a wanted system (called Truancy, of course), a combat system filled with a diverse array of punches, throws, and weapons at your disposal, different vehicles, mini-games, and other various activities and collectibles for completionists. As usual, there are missions given by various NPCs, some advancing the main story, and others being small side activities. Camera angles can be strange at times, but I've never experienced any gamebreaking issues with it. Overall, the gameplay has enough variance where it doesn't get too repetitive, and it strikes a nice balance that makes it both interesting and easy to pick up.

Compared to other open-world games, Bully is by far my favorite. One of the few titles I've been compelled to complete 100%. If you're looking for something different in the same vein of games such as Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row, and the like, I highly recommend looking into Bully: Scholarship Edition. You won't be disappointed.

I'm not recommending this on PC, I'm recommending this on one of the consoles, just be aware that it's bugged on systems, just not as bad as on this platform.

Canis Canem Edit, Or Bully is a good game. It is Rockstar's most unappreciated game. It is brilliantly paced, has excellent writing, has surprisingly solid gameplay mechanics, looks decent for its age and has great characters and voice acting. It's splashed with Rockstar Games humour, and is more than mini-GTA.

However, the PC version is a poor port. The PC controls are a mess, so you need a a game controller to have effective control in all situations. It's also locked at 30 FPS by default, although there is a crack that removes the frame limiter, but to use this, you need another method of keeping the frame rate below 60FPS, or else it will run too fast.

And after all of that effort, if you have a new system, during some instances of running the game, it will stutter, and nothing can stop the stuttering other than restarting until you get lucky. My old system got had zero stutter after Patch 1.2, and the 60FPS fan patch, but my new, more powerful system almost always stutters, I have to restart and restart until it decides to not stutter. It can run with no stutter, but it's a matter of luck.

Because of this, I recommend buying it on console. This game is worth playing, but the efforts to optimise the game on PC are terrible.

It's let down only by the dreadful porting to PC.

Definitely in my top 10 favourites games. Ever.

I can spend hours and hours in this and never get bored.

It's good on any platform (speaking from experience e.g. Wii, PS2, PC, etc), but a warning, surround sound seems to be a bit messed up on this, so make sure you set your audio to 2.0.

Other than that, it's not a half bad port. The framerate is capped to 30, but understandbly so for a console port. It can be uncapped with mods. The pc controls still work fluently once you know them well, and can easily be rebound for preference. Though, I do recommend using a controller for a better experience.

So much love, care, and effort went into this game. It's so great.

A little janky nowadays, but with the best story pieces from everyone's favorite/least favorite high school days, Bully clocks in as a fun and charming "baby's first GTA". It outstays its welcome a little by the end, but not by much. It runs smoothly and I had no issues at all while completing it. Recommended.

Bully is just like the GTA series, just without the blood, drugs and guns. You start as a ♥♥♥♥ty brat named James (Jimmy), he has to work his way up win the Noble Prize and conqure. You get to bully the ♥♥♥♥ out of people, beat them up senselss and throw marbles at grown ups, what else can you ask for?

The story is your typicall college/high school story, with a large doze of classic Rockstar humor.

7.5/10 Great game.

Best game ever! One of the best games you will ever find. Where's the sequel of it, Rockstar Games? From the moment I saw it on consoles, till I played it on 2008 on PC, I got in love with this game. I've even bought it on steam, even though I've already played it in the past. Rockstar Games, this game got a lot of fans and it would be very sad not to see a sequel of it. Please, make us happy soon. Just inform us that you will be soon starting to make its sequel. Please, we would all become very happy. I will even try to be the first one to buy the sequel. You can even make a prequel of it. Anyway, thank you for this great game.

The 30 hours I played this, was fantastic. Im impressed with the graphics, impressed with the fighting, impressed with the story. And as a GTA player, I like to return to this and just relax, not stealing cars, killing everyone, etc etc, I like to just play Bully because of its originality. and recently I heard there coming out with a bully 2! I'll keep my hopes at a minumum, because, usually if it takes them this long to do it, they are gonna be in the GTA V mood, and add in alot more. Like maybe hes in his late 20's now annd he startes stealing cars and all that crap. But, not many games are based in school anymore. Alot are now just TURN SHOOT RUN DOWN A HALL SHOOT LOOK LEFT SHOOT TURN RIGHT SHOOT, WALK IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND GET A 5 KILL STREAK! WE WIN! Thats why I like bully.

AHH Rockstar you realeased this version nearly 5 years ago and i played the original on ps2 but after 5 years this is game is still fun to play especially the modding community, such as BullyMods.net. Anyway i digress this game in my opinion is pretty much GTA for kids just toned down and also has the most creative and arttactive plot, people who like running around in a sandbox world in a school enviroment.. then this is for you also i recommened this to GTA FANS just be aware this is nothing like gta but contains most elements..EXAMPLES: GTA has guns, Bully has the spudgun, potato launcher and slingshot.....GTA has wanted levels, Bully has a trouble meter so go ahead and purchase this if you'd like also prepare for a few game crashes here and there so save like a MOFO XD.........Bye!

Wow. When I finally got around to playing through this game, I can say that this is once again another amazing title from Rockstar Games.

Bully is a game where it is very similar to Grand Theft Auto, from the missions to the side activities. Once you finish the opening cutscene, you are able to do anything you please. And as you progress through the story, you try and become ruler of each of the cliques: Nerds, Jocks, Preps, etc. and make a name for yourself in the Bullworth Acedemy. The city of Bullworth is very fleshed out with a slew of activities and collectibles to find and complete.

One thing I want to say is that this has the best hand-tohand combat i've ever seen. There is a lot of moves you can learn and pull off that become very useful, and all of these moves are pulled off from a single button, not 3 different buttons, which is a huge plus for me. This also means that the moves can be memorized and pulled off easily and quickly. One thing that I have a divided opinion about is the lock on system. Rockstar has always had a problem with this (at least not until GTA 5) and Bully is no exception. If you want to fight back when you are running away, you have to do a full 180, which gives them the chance to make the first blow to the face. This goes for all of the weapons as well, which are also very handy. And of course they can be inaccurate and target the wrong person. But the inaccuracy is rare to happen, and likely won't happen at all when fighting a whole group.

The game is also full of collectibles to find and secrets to discover. The major collectibles are shown on the map however, and while that saves a lot of headache, it also removes that feeling of discovery without help, but we'd probably pull up Google anyways. The side activities are also very fun. They are from simple carnival games, to bike races and lawn mowing. They are all fun to do and have been executed well. This brings us to the classes, which besides the guessing classes: Geography, Math, and English. The rest are either minigames or on-screen prompts. These classes are the most fun, and passing a class grants some really cool unlockables or very useful features, like doubling the amount of tickets you win at the carnival. Also, the handling and driving mechanics or bikes, scooters, lawnmowers, are also something to note. They are all super satisfying and you wont be running into everything much.

However, no game is perfect, and Bully isn't an exception, it has issues that definitely are immersion-breaking, frustraiting, or overall annoying.

One obvious issue is the PC port. Rockstar is not known for making very good PC ports. You can only access the video options through the main menu, the game is capped at 30FPS (but you can unlock it through .exe replacing), the keyboard controls are HORRIFYING (Seriously, I highly recommend using a controller instead), there is pop-in everywhere, there are awful audio issues that might be very difficuly or even impossible to fix. So be cautious of that. However I can say that you can play for HOURS until freezing or crashing happens. I played for 5-6 hours straight without pausing the game for a period of time and it eventually crashed at the 6th hour.

Another thing is the difficulty. It is mostly very easy, especially if you have played through a GTA game. A lot of the enemies are very easy to knock out, and some of the bosses are extremely easy to defeat. However when you pi$$ off the police in the game, they will constantly chase you in their bikes and can go through EVERY shortcut. When they catch you, you have the option to try and escape through a QTE, but sometimes it doesn't show at all, and you get automatically Busted.

But with all of these problems, it is still a game I highly recommend to anyone who needs a fresh change from GTA or Saints Row.

This is an amazing game. Like, the fact that I had the will to finish this game 8 times (On 3 diffrent platforms) just shows how much I'm more or less addicted to this game. As most Rockstar games, has great humor. A good story. A great open world and very innovational game mechanics. The first Rockstar game to have seasons in it..Well 2 or 3 diffrent ones anyway. I garuntee you get this game as soon as you can! This one gets a 9.4/10. It can't be perfect if it has some minor and odd looking glitches, let alone the fact that this is a remake of a game made in 2006. But it's still good!
