What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game as it is right now is basic, but fully functional. We believe players can feel the essence of the game as it is. We want to make changes to make the game more fun for the players that buy the game. In order to do that, we want to involve the players to understand how they would like the game to evolve and build in that direction. Going Early Access will help us continue to build a world around a maze frame and guide us developing the right way.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan on develop the game for years to come and make something truly out of the ordinary. There a lot of ways we can make a 1.0 version of Mazania, but the game will be Early access for at least 1 year, could be longer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We feel Mazania can be launch since it satisfy the main goal of our objectives : allowing the player to run and jump in a procedural gigantic maze that grows bigger and bigger. Other than that, there are three (3) main section that we want to keep developing, that being :
- Structure : performances, design and graphics
- Core : beautify the essence of Mazania and make the entirety more complete
- Fun zone : bring satisfaction in 15 minutes or less.

In clear, the aim is to be truly immersive and fun. That might raise plenty of questions like :
- is there a story that defines a precise objective?
- will there object, character, AI to interact with?
- will there be giant trap room to solve puzzle in it before continue the maze?
- will there be vehicles like skateboard, overboard, flying motorbike?
- will we be able to create dance move that starts epic songs?
- will we be allow to go out side de maze and explore? (that is a yes)

Answers to these question has to be answers by the players them-self. We want to find out what the things that will enlight the community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The frame is build around an near infinite procedural terrain that grows depending of the position of the player on the map. There are 50 levels for now, that build mazes from a 2x3 up to a 20x20 in width blocks. We taught we could make it bigger at first, but we find it difficult enough so these size are well enough. In case some players make their way to the end and wish for more, we made a custom mode that allows players to build nearly infinite maze size. The only limits are the limits of your PC.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price might vary as we ship new content and features until the release, then will goes according to the time players spend in the maze, but we don't know for sure.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Any interesting suggestions will be considered to be added to the game. In order to do that, players might want to visit (our website at mazania.com...not anymore) the discussion board of get on Discord (https://discord.gg/zmsQNM3) to leave comments, suggestions, advice or to seek help about issues they may experiment in the game. It is our main concern to make a product that satisfies the most.”
