I Wanna Be A Game Dev! - THE PUG

Hey Club Members,

It has been a hot minute since we updated all of you on the goings-on of our game, and we are sorry about that.

What's going on with the game

In June, we released the 1.3.0 update with the "Amelia Directs a Movie!" side story. We hope you all enjoyed it, as we had so much fun writing it! We also fixed a few bugs and spelling mistakes in the main story. For more details, you can check out our 1.3.0 patch notes.

There was no new update in July, but we’re still working hard on side content! We have a new side story that will be releasing in August, so we hope you look forward to it.

HUGE NEWS

We just did a livestream!! If you weren't able to catch it, no worries, as we uploaded the VOD to YouTube! During the livestream, we announced I Wanna Be A Game Dev! Expansion!! This two-week expansion will release on December 19th, 2025 and will wrap up the I Wanna Be A Game Dev! story. The teaser trailer is out now on our YouTube Channel, so make sure to check it out!

Also… we’re working on a BRAND NEW GAME that continues Neku’s journey after the expansion! We aren't going to go into detail about it yet, but please stay tuned for updates!

What's Happening in the Community

We just wrapped up the Porkymon Competition! A big congratulations to our Discord members @leav for winning the jury award, and to @Mitsu to winning the fan vote! Also a special shoutout to @BigCheeseMan64, as their Theodude won “Most likely to be a Team Zocket Member.”

We have also recently hit 5,000(!!!!) unique users on Steam. This is a huge milestone for us! We’re so grateful to all of you for your support; we definitely couldn't have gotten this far without you.

As a thank you for all of that, we will be doing a HUGE Discord event! We’ve created a Discord bot that lets our members play a variant of r/place, or as we are calling it, Pixel Place. Users will be able to place pixels on a canvas to create a beautiful piece of art, that might even end up in the game…?

We’re still figuring an exact starting date for this event, but make sure to join our Discord to find out!

Sick Samurai - Solideo

Hello friends,

I've released one last awesome update for the demo before proceeding with work on the full version of Sick Samurai. This will be the last major update for the demo until we participate in Next Fest in many months from now. Stay tuned for updates on full version progress coming very soon!

Update notes below:

  • The Katsuryoku Sake upgrade (reduced attack/dodge cooldowns) has been replaced with the Zenshin Sake upgrade. This upgrade will cause time to slow down when you dodge, making the dodge significantly more powerful and giving you ample time to set up sick plays. The slowmo slowly fades, and will be cancelled instantly when you attack, use an item, or press the dodge button again.

  • The Stun Bomb is now called the Whistle Bomb and is significantly more powerful. It will kill all enemies in a small radius around the blast while stunning remaining enemies that are a bit further away.

  • The power of the Whistle Bomb is balanced by its inventory slot usage. It requires 2 slots to equip 1 whistle bomb, while the kunai still only requires 1 slot per kunai.

  • Attack ranges and enemy targeting have been modified to make the difference between a successful attack and a miss as clear as possible

  • You can now instantly unequip and fully equip all kunai/bombs by clicking on their icon in the backpack instead of incrementing/decrementing them one by one.

  • There is now an additional graphics setting called "Ultra Low". On top of all the other things the lower graphics settings disable, this mode will also disable all postprocessing fx.

  • A variety of other performance optimizations have been made that are applicable to all graphics settings.

It is already only 5 sales away from overtaking Biorage's sales (my previous game) AS A WHOLE.

Other than that, we now sit at over 200 wishlists and I'm excited for the future.
