Happy Monday, knights! How have your Painter Boss Paradise adventures been treating you? We hope you’ve been having a grand time playing as Paint Junior, creating custom knight skins for the Steam Workshop, and enjoying all the new art the DLC has to offer!

Today we have a few bug fixes to deploy, including fixes for the double/overlapped body piece and achievement tracking for Custom Characters. We appreciate your patience as we tackle these issues and thank the community members who have reported bugs to our support team!

Just Chess - Tohtori Nuppila

Since the last update hasn’t produced new bug reports, I’ve started moving the development forward. The next big feature coming is Lichess integration.

At first, the integration will only allow playing against the Stockfish engine, but challenging human players is also planned and will definitely be included later on. The first version will support the standard game mode with basic functionality. The UI will allow you to create both untimed and timed games, and I aim to include the most common time controls. However, since the Lichess board API doesn’t seem to support the very fastest games, the minimum time control will be 10 minutes and upwards.

Early playtests are already underway. I can’t yet give an estimate for the release date, but so far things are progressing smoothly. I’m also aiming to design the UI features in a way that feels at least somewhat familiar to those who already use Lichess.

Once the core features are in place, I will look into supporting other chess variants as well. Lichess has a very wide range of features, so I may not be able to implement absolutely everything — but the goal is to add real value to the game with this integration.

Loot Shop Simulator - Zarg

Hello shopkeepers!

We are still at work on the Guild Hall, the first of the Specializations that will be available to diversify how your shop functions! We've also been testing the latest release and have solved a few bugs that were found related to the Mirror on the Wall object. Thank you to everyone who sent in reports!

For those who have expanded their shop multiple times and placed many objects, you may have noticed the game slow down a little. Well, we're happy to report that we've totally solved that lag with recent optimizations! These will also be available in the next update.


We have also fleshed out the Guild Management menu a bit more since the previous Dev Log.

Each adventurer will now have their stats displayed explicitly. Instead of numerical values, stats will have tiers varying from F to A. Depending on your party's stats, tags, and equipment tags, the system will determine if the group is capable of passing the various skill checks associated with the quest in progress.

Some quests will be more difficult than others, with varied skill checks such as locked doors, obstacles, mini bosses, and more! If you send out a party that cannot clear an obstacle, then unfortunately that quest would end prematurely and you would see a reduction in the rewards. Downsides could even include adventurers becoming injured or retiring altogether! So, there is an element of permanently losing adventurers, but there will also be ways to mitigate that as you unlock more of the Guild Hall features.

On the other hand, if you excel at party selection and send the right specialists for the job, you may even see increased rewards beyond what the quest normally pays!

All in all, the Guild Hall intends to add a new element to Loot Shop Simulator where, every morning in-game you have something to look forward to other than simply opening the shop. Parties will arrive and you'll be able to see full breakdowns of their adventures, the results of which are dynamically generated based on their setups.

Due to the depth of content for this update, we may end up dividing it into multiple releases, but we are still aiming to release the first by the end of August as we mentioned previously. Stay tuned!


Finally, before closing, I'd like to mention that we will be posting our Dev Logs every 2 weeks instead of weekly.

Prior to the release of Loot Shop Simulator, I was able to work normally (as mentioned before, this game is mostly being made by myself with the help of a small handful of friends who test and toss around ideas with me). Unfortunately, within the last 45 days, my entire family was hospitalized for varying reasons, some quite serious, and my parents now require daily special care. So, I haven't been able to work as quickly as I used to.

However, I am still making steady progress and I have a lot planned for Loot Shop Simulator including more than half a dozen different Specializations each with their own minigames and challenges! For now, I am focused on getting the Guild Hall specialization done, so I hope all of you Loot Shop enthusiasts can bear with me even if it takes me a bit longer to deliver the full experience.

Dear space mechanics,

This update has improved the tutorial, battery replacement and GPS tracker repair.

The tutorial has had its text rewritten so that the player can better understand what needs to be done. Now, in the training mode, instead of 1500, you are given 10000, this is done so that the beginner understands what needs to be done and cannot accidentally spend all the money.

It was difficult to replace the battery of some spaceships, now it is much easier to do.

It has become more understandable to repair the GPS tracker, when repaired, the GPS tracker makes a sound.

Bug fixes.

Bug#1 - in normal mode, the purchase area had text from the tutorial.

Bug#2 - capsules could fall through walls.

Bug#3 - if the player's monitor is long, he could see the settings without pressing the "escape" button.

Balancing:
- Watchdog 3000 toned down and laser shortened chances for other attacks have been raised
- Lowered chances of coin dropping from perk card "making it rain"
- Lowered sawn rates for tesla enemies
- 5 weapons have been adjusted to be better balanced
Changes:
- Weapon descriptions added when interacting with weapons
- Font has been adjusted to make it more readable
- Parrying has hit stop now to add more impact
- Getting hit now has a louder sounds and brighter effect
- Coin flip has a much further range now and does double damage to the enemies hit
- The colors of the layers now are shown in the Ui

- Reworked most of the music tracks to make sure there are no empty spaces within the music

Very cool, not sure if I deserve it, but I sure do appreciate it :D. Memoirs of a Battle Brothel is of course, the game that Vampire Syndicate is a direct sequel to.

Just thought I'd share.

Also in other news, I am currently building out a massive update to the demo that will incorporate all the systems I'm working on. Not sure when it will come out, but it should be a "full vertical slice" including the first story mission.

The first update of Practical Pinball is out! What's changed?

  • I added two new tables with unique themes!

  • I attempted to squash some bugs for better gaming experience

  • The computer for saving stats has arrived! More equipment, as well as the saving system, are still on their way.
