Hi everyone!

The Big Bang patch is almost ready for release. Get ready to explore new universes, new mechanics, and a fresh twist on the gameplay with the Big Bang (NG+)! The patch will go live as soon as the art rework is complete, all AI-generated images will be fully removed and replaced with hand-drawn art from a real artist.

I know it's been over a month since the last update, but this next patch is going to be a big one. It will introduce a brand new mechanic for Mech Upgrades (unlockable at BH 11), lots of bug fixes, and the new Big Bang prestige layer. Thank you all so much for your continued support. I'm really excited to share this with you soon.

I’m thrilled to finally announce my new project: "CLOWNCORE" a first-person stealth horror game where you infiltrate a mysterious and sinister carnival that appears only once every seven years.

The game features:
First-person melee combat with breakable weapons and a stamina system to manage.
Stealth mechanics hide under carts, inside barrels, or in the shadows using dynamic lighting.
Interactive environments with various challenges and, most importantly, enemies that react to your presence, noise, and actions.
And of course… clowns!

This is a huge step forward for me, and I truly hope you’ll enjoy the game.

- Added the option to turn the vital shot camera and compass off and on.

- Changed to allow players to aim below 90 degrees from a prone position.
- Aiming downward from the prone position on cliff or hill terrain is now possible.
- Aiming while sitting or crouching is slightly less jittery.

A game jam event in support of Kaizen: A Factory Story by our friends at Coincidence (formerly Zachtronics) Wishlist it now!

We're massive fans of the work of Zach Barth and his team, from the Zachtronics days to the new studio, Coincidence. We’ve always admired how their games make systems literacy fun-- a mission we share!

When I heard they were launching a new game while I was visiting Coincidence's new headquarters, I thought about ways that we could support them. We were already planning our next game jam, so I texted Zach to see how we could help, and we decided together that timing it just before their launch would be the most impactful way to rally support. The Coincidence team is deep in launch mode, but our goal is simple: point everyone we can to that wishlist button, and turn our players into game devs for a RAD launch weekend.

Throughout the event, we'll be streaming your jam games, talking hackmud, and hyping up their new title.

What's "Kaizen"?

Kaizen is the Japanese concept of continuous improvement, and the belief that small, consistent efforts lead to incredible outcomes. This philosophy is the very core of hackmud’s RAD (Rapid Application Development) and FAFO (Flail About and Figure Out) mindset: start messy, build fast, iterate often, and get better every time.

This jam celebrates that spirit, and rewards everyone in the process.

This ultimate reward will be engraved with permanent jam stats, turning it into a monument to our shared victory. Babbling Brook - Some Random Designing

Hi all! There’s a small update available for the Babbling Brook demo. It features a new tutorial level to get familiar with the game, some new types of rubber ducks and a bunch of other small improvements.

There are now exploding rubber ducks, sponge ducks which leave behind water and black hole ducks which create a vortex in the water. I plan to add a couple more types of ducks, so feel free to post your suggestions.

I’m using the demo both to introduce people to Babbling Brook and to try out new ideas. A bit like early access or a play test. So keep an eye out for future updates. That way you can try out all sorts of new features and content.

Jane has been invited to showcase her incredible cooking skills on the TV show "Cooking Strike"! To prove she’s ready, she must complete five levels in a row.

As you progress through the challenge, the TV crew will upgrade your kitchen with professional equipment.

Be careful—failing a level resets your progress, and you'll have to start from the beginning. But don’t worry, you can try as many times as you like! The show is covering all the food costs, so your supplies remain untouched.

Complete all five levels to earn a major reward, including booster parts, Coins, Rubies, and blog points!

If you don’t finish before the event ends, no problem—you won’t lose anything, and another TV opportunity will come soon!

Update 1.1.0.2 is called ‘Dead Effects’, referring to the new special effects when eliminating or shooting an enemy. In addition, the update brings improvements to some materials and other existing effects.

Here are all the details:

  • Blood Effects (Addition):

    Blood Explosion (Small and Large);

    Splash (Small and Large) added to all enemies varying by size;

  • Taking Damage Animations (Addition):

    Junkrat and Bagface react to taking damage;

  • Death Animations:

    Bagface (Added Ragdoll when eliminated);

    Pawn (Animation Improvement);

  • Camera shakes when taking damage (Addition):

    When the player takes damage, the camera shakes with the same magnitude as the damage.

  • Problem when moving with low FPS (Bug fixed);

  • Chess Battle Update:

    New power added to the second boss phase: Blood Rain;

Shards of the Realm - Fenyx
This patch introduces two important updates: a complete rebalance of equipment and the ability to hide headgear.

Previously, there was an issue where a character with 10 strength could not equip full-plate T4 armor without becoming overloaded. This has now been addressed, making it possible to wear such armor. Additionally, other equipment has been rebalanced to reduce weight.

While investing 1-2 additional strength points is still a good choice—as it allows carrying medkits, potions, and is required for multiclassing when using dual weapons—it is no longer mandatory for light armor related subclasses.
