Teleglitch: Die More Edition - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Adam Smith)

Have You Played? is an endless stream of game recommendations. One a day, every day of the year, perhaps for all time.>

Teleglitch [official site] is one of the most difficult games I’ve ever played and it might also be one of the best. It plays out like a top-down Doom if Doom were about a terrified survivor of the Phobos incident rather than a rugged space marine.

Below you will find the 25 best horror games ever released on PC. To ensure the list was as accurate as possible, the compiler was locked in a dark cellar with a copy of every game in existence and a computer capable of running them all. Two weeks later, the following article was found written on the walls in blood (the postscript was recorded on an audiolog). The writer was nowhere to be seen.

Dungeons of Dredmor - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (John Walker)

While the main Humble Bundle is diverting itself from gaming with a really quite splendid collection of audiobooks, it seems to have snuck out one of the best collections of games so far in its Weekly Bundle. Rather than showcasing games from one studio, this week it’s a collection of Roguelikes. (Everyone who wants to have a fight about the terminology, please do so here.) That’s Paranautical Activity, Dungeons Of Dredmor Complete, Hack Slash Loot, The Binding Of Isaac + DLC, Teleglitch Die More Edition, and Sword Of The Stars: The Pit Gold. Cor.

Teleglitch: Die More Edition - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Jim Rossignol)

Masterful top-down shooter Teleglitch – which is appalling difficult, and one of my favourite games of the year (or last year, really) – has a DLC, and it’s called Guns And Tunes. This is fairly self explanatory: new music to score your inevitable death, and some new guns. There will be right more monster-mincing tools, and you’ll even be able to select which of them you want to start the game with, or choose to have them randomised for you at the outset. The DLC costs £0.99.

You can read about what we made of Teleglitch just here.

Jim and John have been playing the incredible top-down sci-fi roguelike, Teleglitch. They really do like it. Read on for why, below. (more…)

It is very important to me that you realise how much affection I have for the brutal lo-fi roguelike shooter, Teleglitch. It’s a horrible, atmospheric game that does everything right. It’s gruesomely claustrophobic, and ridiculously difficult. It allows you to explore for scraps of the world, letting you bolt things together into makeshift weapons that probably won’t – if we’re being honest – actually keep you alive. The game has materialised on the dark edges of digital distribution today, and at the time of writing it has just appeared on Steam. You will be able to get Steam keys from all these places, too, of course. The new edition – published by Paradox and containing extra expandy bits – will be made available to everyone who has purchased the game, so existing owners can upgrade, somehow. (more…)
