Just now, we made some updates to the game. We introduced the masse shot method to the game, which can help you do more fancy shots!


How to use
  • To activate the masse shot, press Q twice to switch. In other words, there are now three shot poses, which can be switched by pressing Q.
  • The masse shot stance can only be activated when the player is close to the cue ball and has a foothold. When the foothold is lost, it will automatically switch back to the normal stance.

    Some combat demonstrations
  • When both balls are close to the edge of the pool, but there is an obstacle ball in the middle, use the masse shot to hit the cue ball a little to the right below. The cue ball and make an arc to bypass the obstacle ball.

  • Using the masse shot stance, you can hit the center of the cue ball to make a higher jump shot to fly over the obstacle ball that the normal jump shot cannot fly over.

-Fixed a major regression bug with the last patch that caused countless issues (sorry everyone)
-Fixed a bug where returning from an Odd Job would softlock the player by repeating the door event for the player's first Odd Job
-Fixed a bug causing multiple mini-game tutorial windows to be unresponsive to player input
-Fixed the text part of the players status meters so it should display properly now
-Fixed a bug causing the desktop PC to open with a broken version of the Load Game UI present

This is just one of the RPGs that will be included with Dimensional Gates and fully playable on the PC in the airship cabin. Laurel's Day is not your normal RPG storyline and will tear at your heart a lot, but is a powerful storyline that we can all learn from.

NEW:
  • A new type of melee combo move is available: Combo Point Moves
    Focusses on a less-spammy combat style
    Rewards parrying and perfect shielding by granting combo points for succesful counters
    Once you have combo points, you can hold your attack to start charging your melee move
    You can either spend a single point on a light move, or spend all 4 points on a strong move
  • "Finesse" is a new Combo Point move which can be purchased from the hunting shop for 20 rabbit pelts
    Light attack: Cutting Axe
    Heavy attack: Thousand Cuts
  • An addition astral dummy was added that will grant you +1 Combo Point (CP) upon hitting it
  • Events can now be started manually by staff

CHANGED:
  • Goblin brutes have been nerfed slightly to where they will only stun you if you get hit during their sprint
  • Players have had their physics density increased making it so enemies can no longer "push" you into positions that will get you stuck
  • Enemies will now be harder to group up, they will slow down if other enemies are in front of them already heading to you
  • Enemies can now be pushed back easier, making it more unlikely for the player to get stuck in a mob unfairly
  • "M. Fragments" was an incorrect label inside smithing and has been adjusted to simply "Metal"
  • Some return points to the weathered woods town have been adjusted to prevent players from getting stuck in homes
  • The hitbox on the frozen status of the player has been adjusted so that it should be more consistent for the player to be broken free again if an enemy hits the ice
  • Selecting a party member by clicking their actual character made it so you could target them that way - clicking them again would then unselect them. This didn't feel good so you can no longer unselect a party member that way. You can simply select another target or click them via the party frames to unselect them.
  • Astral dummies in the attunement room will now sync up their combat timers. If one dummy expires but you're fighting another one, your old one will no longer cancel your combat status.

FIXED:
  • If you didn't talk to Finley in the Empire before reaching the frozen north, his ghost marker will no longer appear in town
  • If you had an older savefile which didn't have magic abilities unlocked yet, it will now auto-unlock for you if you've beaten the second boss

**In my tests, I noticed that when Steam Overlay is enabled, the framerate drops to 20 FPS or even lower, but when I disable it, the framerate goes above 140 FPS.**


🔧 Performance Tip – Disable Steam Community In-Game (Overlay)
If you're experiencing unusually low frame rates (FPS) when running the game through Steam, the Steam Overlay may be affecting performance on certain systems.

To improve performance, we recommend disabling the Steam Overlay globally or just for this game.

🛠️ Option 1: Disable Steam Overlay for All Games
Open Steam.

Go to Steam > Settings (top-left corner).

Click on the In-Game tab.

Uncheck the option:
✔ Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game

Click OK to save and restart Steam.

🕹️ Option 2: Disable Steam Overlay for This Game Only
Open Steam and go to your Library.

Right-click on the game and select Properties.

In the General tab, uncheck:
✔ Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game

Disabling the overlay may significantly improve FPS, especially on systems where GPU or driver compatibility issues exist with the Steam In-Game Overlay.
