1 Screen Platformer Prologue puts you in control of Nadia and shows you what happens the moments following capturing the golden skull in 1 Screen Platformer 1. Navigate the mother ship looking for survivors and trying to reconnect with the Skull you claimed in the first game.

What is new in version 1.31

Alright Christmas is over so I had to do a quick update to remove all the christmas decorations that I added to the town. I also took out the christmas music :(.

However I did do one new cool thing:

I improved the Japanese translation. @seum599-san contacted me and said that he could do a much better job translating the text. So he did it for me! What a great person. Follow them on twitter right now! @seum599

Return to adventure mountain discord

The townspeople in the kingdom of Abria have been busy decorating for the annual holidays. Across the land, you will see Christmas trees, twinkling lights, snow-covered mountains. A new festive song seems to sing out from the fields.

It is definitely Christmas.

Alright everyone I am so excited to provide you with the first big patch for Return of the Zombie King. Here are the updates mostly driven by you, the most excellent player.




If you would rather just see the updates I did a little video review of the game with the changes.

• Start Menu - Fixed the reflection. There were some visual weirdness there.
  
• Fixed this big Crash - Sometimes the game would just crash completely. You know why it was? Because of that “First Hit” bonus thing. I think it was because that label of “First Hit” is tied directly to the players x, and y coordinates. If you died or didn’t exist, the label didn’t know what to do so it would just blow up the game. Fixed that. Thank you Andrew on the forums for pointing it out. Also confirmed by Voker.
  
• Coins had weird alignment - fixed it. Thanks SLMEPHI[GER] who left the following message in the forum: “In several levels coins are hanging in the ground” -
  
• Volume Control on Music and SFX - Who does more than 5 anyway?
  
• Music and Coin sound FX are just a bit quieter.
  
• Store animation crashing - If you tried to buy 2 things at the same time the game crashed. Fixed that.
  
• There was this one platform in one level that didn’t hold up the king. Fixed it. (thanks Hidden Object Guru)
  
• Cleaned up the landscaping a little bit here. There were some weird textures on the overworld. - Fixed that.
  
• Bonus Room - You could run the mines multiple times in a single day. Fixed that thanks for being honest Rominos2. You didn’t have to tell me that but you are an honest man.
  
• Improved the spanish translation - Thanks Sr_Ahota
  
• Steam overlay pauses the game - Nobody was complaining about it. But the steam team always leaves passive aggressive notes when I tried to get an upload working. There you go valve employee I hope you are happy.
  
• No more reverse shooting plants - I named this update after you “nwzed” after he left this message in the forums: “That Level is really poorly designed. The poisonbolts from those plants are unpredictable. Sometimes they spit and sometimes they don't, Sometimes i land on a bolt and sometimes i don't. I just can't plan a route, because so much stuff happens at random, its frustating.” “ That level is just horrible. I can beat it with enough luck, but that sucks big time. Luck shouldn't be a factor” - I hope it goes better for you now.

I don't want to alarm you, but the Return of The Zombie King Steam sale ends in less than 12 hours.

Hi I am so excited to reveal the world of the Zombie King.

In this magical land you take control of a deposed king. You are resurrected but are left with nothing but a skull. You must use your platforming skills to collect coins so you can upgrade your body and take back your kingdom.

Buy eyes to turn the world from black and white to full color.


Buy double jump so you can reach the upper platforms and get more coins.


The game has over 100 levels.

Hey are you ready for Halloween? You doing anything? What you dressing up as?

I am not dressing up because I am in full Dad mode. Going to be taking my kid around the neighborhood (He is going as Spider-man BTW).I just have to make sure he doesn't have too much candy. Those are my main plans.

However, the main reason I am sending out this notice is I am really excited to tell you this.....

That is right! Get ready because you gotta take a bouncing skull and buy all the body parts back to get EYES, EARS, LEGS, everything! You gotta build your body back to retake your kingdom. It is a game that features auto-running platforming, 100 Levels, and a shop full of awesome upgrades.

The game isn't as hardcore as 1 Screen Platformer. I think you are going to find it a lot easier.

Now you may have seen my previous announcements where I said that it was releasing Oct 7th. Well that was wrong!

The game just needed a bit more time in the old oven to make sure everything turned out right. But no more uncertainty. I just passed official VALVE certification this week and the game is ready to release! All I need to do is push a green button that says "Release" and then it is in your hands.

I just updated the Steam store page with all new graphics and a new trailer. You should check it out if you haven't seen it in a while. Also wishlist it if you haven't already.

Zombie King releases in 14 days! I am counting down to the release by telling you a story every Monday.

For today I want to tell you about the real-life history behind the game and what it hast to do with this castle.




That is Neuschwanstein Castle located in Southern Germany. It was built buy a really greedy king who lost a war to Prussia so he built himself a home to hide away in the country side so nobody would bother him (I guess that is what you do when you lose to Prussia.) But then the King died under mysterious circumstances and his castle was never 100% finished.

In Return of the Zombie king you play as that king after you are killed and after you make a deal with the devil bot buy back your life. It is an interesting retelling of the story to say the least.

But the central driver of this whole story is that castle.

About 4 years ago my wife and I visited it. I immediately recognized it but I couldn't remember where. Then I realized that it is the stand in castle for pretty much every video game I loved as a kid.

It is like when game designers want to put in a castle they just draw this one.

This is one screen of the overworld.

It is of the first town you come across as you journey back to your castle. Each one of those brown spots is a level. Each screen contains 11 levels. There are 10 screens in total.





In this next image, you will see the King's Castle. See all those little houses? It looks like your disloyal subjects setup camp in your castle after they kicked you out.

Time to get back in there and clear them out!
