Update v.0.2.0 🍯

A new update, v.0.2.0, is out now! This update improves on most aspects of the game while also bringing brand new features.

Decoration 🌳

The big one is the new Decoration feature. You can now decorate the forest with more than just flowers! Place chairs, tables, vases, rocks, pumpkins and much more, wherever you want in the forest.

You will start off with a big set of decorations, but some you will have to unlock. And even more are coming in future updates.

If you join the Discord you will be able to suggest decorations that might end up in the game! ✨

Exploration 🎃

This update also expands the forest with thing to find and new areas, some are even hidden. There’s a new mysterious pumpkin patch in Pumpkin Valley with a new character, Scarecrow, who might have a riddle or two for you.


Pet Bumble Dog! 🐝

We also have the most important addition. You can now pet Bumble Dog!

Bumble dog also has received a buff making him a bit stronger. You also now have the option to leave him at home if you prefer to play without him.

UI Rework📖

The UI has also been reworked quite a lot. Both visually, with new backgrounds and animations, and in some cases the functionality has been remade or improved.

The update brings more additions and changes (see Patch Notes below) but let's talk about the future!

Future 🔮

Next up I’m focusing on combat. And there will be some big changes!

I’m aiming to release smaller updates, but more frequent ones. To help me focus on fewer features at a time and also faster implement players feedback and my own ideas. I think this will be beneficial to everyone!

RAM: Random Access Mayhem - Xylem Studios

Hey everyone, we are just over a week out from RAM's 1.0 launch!

Thank you all for helping us work out the kinks. We've put a new build out on the public testing branch, and we would be super grateful if anyone testing could start a new save file to make sure the game works from the beginning, and all the sequencing works.

The main thing still missing is beating the game on a Fresh File run, so don't expect that beating the final boss on your first run will make any sense right now. In fact, if possible when testing, please try to imagine what a first time player is experiencing so we can address the most common issues.

Here are the changes and fixes since the last patch:

Adjustments

  • Added new level 3 intro tease and slimmed down intro tutorial,

  • Reduced starting dialogue amount when returning from the first run,

  • Turned off the combo system during the final boss,

  • More than one memory can now appear in a run (1 per Stage),

  • Solidarity now requires playing the Mail Sorting Minigame 3 times,

  • Added a re-read tutorial button to the Horde Mode menu,

  • Stage 3 levels now display exit markers,

  • Added some failsafes for the final boss to avoid softlocks,

  • Ambush Tachis will no longer drain the combo meter,

  • Added new Cuckoo reaction dialogue (no more dying after 23 floors),

  • Bosses are now invulnerable until the fight starts,

  • Adjusted Regularization cost curve,

  • Rallying epitaph orbs now gives a trickshot bonus (RALLY x1.5),

  • Piercing irbs now work with pitching arm,

  • Killing multiple enemies with piercing laser now gives a trickshot bonus (LASER PIERCE x1.2),

  • Final boss now benefits from Open Source,

  • Memories can now be shared with Cuckoo after swapping with Ira,

  • Daily run upgrades now weighted for what bots can appear,

  • Stage 3 levels can now appear in daily runs,

Customizable Kitchen Colors

Bring your kitchen to life with the colors you love!

Not only can you now change the stone colors of your walls, but we’ve also added 3 different countertop styles for you to choose from. Simply use the Color Picker to select your preferred shade and watch your kitchen transform instantly.

Customizable Restaurant Hall

Your restaurant hall just got a major glow-up!
You can freely adjust the colors of the walls, along with both the upper and lower stone layers, giving your space a completely fresh atmosphere.

On top of that, we’ve added 3 brand-new floor tile options (4 in total), allowing you to pick the perfect pattern that matches your interior design.

🐞 Bug Fixes

We’ve also tackled a number of issues to make your experience smoother:

  • Player Stuck in Toilet While Crouching
    Fixed an issue where crouching inside a toilet could trap the player, making it impossible to exit.

  • Invisible Sandwich After Save/Load with Tray & Receipt
    Resolved a bug where serving a tray with a receipt after save/load left behind an invisible sandwich.

  • Clients Facing the Same Direction in Multiplayer
    Fixed client orientation not replicating correctly for other players. No more oddly synchronized staring contests!

  • Small Freezer Preview Image Mismatch
    Corrected the preview image in the market so it now matches the actual in-game appearance.

  • Bread Sorting into Oven Tray (Client-Side)
    Addressed an issue where trays sometimes failed to properly hold 5 breads, causing odd shifting or fewer breads being placed.

  • Order Price Drops to Zero
    Fixed an issue where removing a sandwich from the order list while taking the order caused the total price to drop to zero.

  • Broken Sandwich Order After Removing Side Item
    Resolved a bug where removing a selected side item would break the sandwich order in the list.

  • Cash Register Price Increase Exploit
    Addressed an exploit where switching repeatedly between certain products (such as different bread types or chicken/smoked beef) would incorrectly increase the total price.

  • Canceled Items Still Appearing on Receipt
    Fixed an issue where canceled bread and ingredients still showed up on the printed receipt.

    • Example: If White Bread, Chicken, and Lettuce were ordered, and White Bread was removed, those removed items could still appear when the order was changed to something else (e.g., Thyme Bread, Smoked Beef, and Mushroom). This has now been resolved.

  • Drive-Thru Old Orders Persisting After Save/Load
    Corrected a problem where the large order panel in the drive-thru continued to display old or kicked orders after a save/load.

Deep Space Exploitation - juhr

Hello!

It's been a while (about 2 months actually!) since I've put out an update for the demo, making it v0.7! I've been working mostly on content that comes after the demo ends but I realised there are still quite a few tweaks and bug fixes that the demo can benefit from too. There are even some bigger things in there too, like the intro cutscene, and some new upgrades.

Here's the full list of changes you can see in Demo v0.7!

General

- Intro cutscene!

- Activator tool now shows more informative text

- Drones will beep and complain when damaged

- Drones can now be deactivated/activated

- Reduced attractor beam length and width, and added upgrades to increase these

- Added lateral control (strafe) upgrade

- Added refurbished explosive charge

- Crystals now create particles when colliding

- Added background signal noise modifiers so that using different tools creates some interference with the scanner

- Entities like drones, containers, etc. now give off a pulsing signal

- Moved some unnecessary stuff out of the save file, which should help avoid breaking changes in the future

- Entities attached to asteroids now leave a slightly larger hole when they're detached

- Small change to how red crystals determine which direction to move in

- Better scrap placement on randomised levels

- Some small changes to story text

- Improvements to NPC pathing code, more performant in most cases and more precise overall

- Lowered damage required to open containers

- Tweaks to tutorial so that scanner functionality is better explained and the explanation is visible while you're actually meant to be scanning

- Added hint on day 2 about being able to push asteroids safely

- Containers will now always gently push their contents out (previously they only did it for a short period and things could stay hidden in there)

- Added message when finally paying off debt

- Changed "Civilian Capital" to "Civilian Resources"

- Archived mail is now sorted properly and displays date in the list

- Tweaked positioning of crystals on charge training day so that they're easier to get with a second charge

- Job times and permits are sorted now, and the selection with the most amount of time is selected first

- Red crystal shards value now add up to the value of a full shard

- Added confirmation popup when restarting a job

- Added rounded corners to some physics objects to make them easier to handle and less likely to get stuck when trying to pick them up

- Charge launcher build up SFX now uses tweaked volume and pitch

- SFX now plays when entities detach from asteroids

- Tweak to tool usage colour on tools page

Fixes

- Fix for message sometimes flickering on and off once when starting a new job

- Upgrades are now removed from the market after installing them from the market page

- Fixed some cases where entities are trying to interact with the physics objects of entities that were removed on that update

- Fixed some maths utilities bugs that were resulting in NaNs and then causing physics to behave in strange ways or be ignored altogether

- Can no longer pause while extracting, dying, or dead

- Gameover and pause menu buttons now wrap from top to bottom

- Fix for laser effect remaining visible after extraction

- Fix for rough transition to new game state when that game state took a while to load

- Fix for TOOL_NONE status notification not clearing when installing a tool directly after purchasing it on the market page
