On April 13th, 2016 Shilen, Magmeld, and Bartz will be merging to form a new server named Freya with a time zone that will be announced by March 25th, 2016. All players with characters from Shilen, Magmeld, or Bartz will log in after the maintenance on April 13th to find their characters on this new server. However, only characters on Shilen, Magmeld, and Bartz will be affected. Those on other servers will not be affected.

A server merge is a complicated process, and the guide is designed to cover most questions and conflicts that will come up. If you still have questions after reading the guide, please visit the forums to ask any questions.

Spring is in the air across all of Aden. The flowers are starting to bloom and the foliage is greener than ever! Lucky for you, the elemental spirits have decided to host an in-game GM event to celebrate. And we couldn’t let them have all the fun, so we’ve decided to put together a community contest, too!

Event Details
Main event period: The GMs will be in-game at random times on select servers each day of the event. They will be hidden somewhere within Fantasy Island (can be accessed by any Gatekeeper for free). Listen for broadcast clues of their location in World Chat.

From March 15, 2016 until March 23, 2016

Take screenshots from in the game that exemplify the word “lucky.” It can be all sorts of things like your favorite healer who makes sure you don’t get killed, your prized weapon that you consider lucky, or even a favorite monster who’s given you something really lucky. Get creative!

How to participate:

• Take screenshot of something you think is “lucky” in Lineage II
  
• E-mail screenshot submission along with your character and server name to L2Community@ncsoft.com before 11:59 pm PDT on March 23, 2016
  
• The Lineage II Community team will judge entries based on creativity, originality, and best representation of interpreting the theme “lucky”, choosing the top three winners for the Grand Prize
  
• All other qualifying entries will earn the Lucky Prize
  
• Winners will be announced on the Lineage II website and forums on March 29, 2016
  
• Prizes will be distributed by in-game mail on April 6, 2016

The much anticipated La Vie en Rose Brooches have returned...for a limited time! As powerful as they are beautiful, these are no mere trinkets. Completely customizable by their wearer, the Brooches are made to fit the needs of each individual adventurer. 14 different types of jewels can be slotted into the Brooches; each possessing its own passive and active skills. The mystical La Vie en Rose Brooches are only available for a limited time, so don’t miss out!

When a brooch is equipped, jewels can be placed in the slots of the brooch, which give your character special passive and active skills!

Brooches are no-grade accessories and options differ per brooch. You cannot enchant a brooch and it can only be purchased in the L2 Store (the 2-slot brooch is 1 Adena).

La Vie en Rose Noble, Brilliant, and Radiant Brooches are given in a box when purchased. These can be traded while in the box, but cannot be traded once opened.






There are a total of 14 different Jewel types that can be added to Brooches for special passive skills, with the Vital Stone, Garnet, Tanzanite, Cat's Eye, and Amethyst being new. Each jewel has 5 different levels. If two of the same jewels are equipped, only the effects of the higher level jewel will be applied.

The Ruby and Sapphire jewels have unique passive skills that have never existed in Lineage II before!

The Ruby jewel increases the damage rate of Soulshots and Beast Soulshots. Starting at Lv3 Rubies, the visual effects of Soulshots are strengthened and the color changes to Blue (Lv3 Ruby), Yellow (Lv4 Ruby), or Red (Lv5 Ruby).

The Sapphire jewel increases the damage rate of the Spiritshots and Blessed Spiritshots. Starting at Lv3 Sapphires, the visual effects of Spiritshots/Blessed Spiritshots are strengthened and the color changes to Blue (Lv3 Sapphire), Yellow (Lv4 Sapphire), or Red (Lv5 Sapphire) when using a magic skill.





Jewels can only be obtained from Jewelry Boxes, which can be purchased from the L2 Store or obtained through trade with other players! When you open the La Vie en Rose Jewelry Box, you will receive a Lv1 jewel of one of the 14 jewel types.

Only Jewelry Boxes and Lv5 Jewels can be traded. Lv1 to Lv4 Jewels are not tradable.




Jewels can be upgraded up to Lv5 by compounding. To compound, you'll need two gems of the same level and type. Click on the compounding icon at the bottom of the inventory and place the jewels. If the compounding succeeds, the level of the jewel will increase. If it fails, only 1 of the jewels will be destroyed.



After clicking compound, you'll see the following window:



Remember: only jewels of the same type and level can be compounded.

As an example shown above, only a Lv4 Diamond can be compounded with a Lv4 Diamond. This same Lv4 Diamond could not be compounded with a Lv3 Diamond and would result in a failure message.

Compounding Success!



But remember! If your compounding attempt fails, only one of the jewels will be lost.

From Shaddai's Brooch sub menu,
you can either exchange La Vie En
jewel boxes or Lv. 1 Jewels for
1 Shiny Gemstone Fragment

for the Radiant Brooch Box.
The Radiant Gemstone Fragment can
be acquired at a low chance from
the Shadai's Jewel Pack on the L2 Store.

The Power of Love is back and is spreading through Aden! Every year on Valentine’s Day, the citizens of Aden give cakes to their significant others to express their love. However, the bakery that supplies the cakes has been sabotaged by Beleth! The wizards of the Ivory Tower fear that with no love (cake) in the hearts of Aden citizens, hatred and evil will run rampant throughout the world. A sweet and joyful wizard named Coco Brownie has been dispatched by the Ivory Tower to help spread the Power of Love back to the people of Aden with your help!



February 10th, 2016 to February 24th, 2016:
Main event period: Love Potions drop from monsters. Coco Brownie NPC is in town to give out buff items.

Server Event Settings: Augmentation Removal Fee = 0 Adena, Free teleports, No XP loss upon death.

February 24th, 2016: The Coco Brownie NPC leaves the game, Love Potions no longer drop, and server event settings are turned off.

Love Potion

Love Potions drop from monsters you hunt. The Love Potions double P. Atk./M. Atk./Attack Speed/Casting Speed for 2 minutes for everyone in your party and change the appearance of your weapons. The Love Potion buff instantly activates upon pickup from defeated monsters.

(The effect of the Love Potion disappears when you restart the game.)



Talk to Coco Brownie in any town to receive special Valentine’s Day buff items. You can choose Chocolate Truffle, Candy Heart, or Comfort Cookie. Each one slowly replenishes your Vitality in peace zones and also has its own special power.

You can only claim one type of buff item from Coco Brownie. Each buff lasts 2 hours, but there is no limit on usage. To receive a different type of buff from the NPC, delete your existing buff items in your inventory and choose again.

If 3 people in a party with each item gather around and use their buff items, they can receive all of the effects.

Example: Character A consumes the Chocolate Truffle, Character B consumes the Candy Heart, and Character C consumes the Comfort Cookie. All three buffs will appear on the status bar of everyone in the party.


Weapon Appearance Buffs:
You can talk to Coco Brownie to turn your weapon into something sweet for 5 minutes. The weapon appearance buff will also disappear when you log out.

Valentine Weapon Appearance Coupons (30-day) are also available in the L2 Store for only 1 NCoin! You trade this coupon in at the Adventurer's Guide, illustrated below, and the appearance effect will last for 30 days.

Effective February 5, 2016 Lineage II will temporarily be unavailable on the Steam store for new downloads. However, if you’ve already downloaded the game and are playing through Steam you’ll still be able to play the game as you have been.

This is a temporary measure that will allow us to work on a few of the issues with the Steam versions of the game and we will post an announcement to let everyone know when it is back and available for download.

Additionally, the community hub, including announcements and the discussion board, will still be available and existing players will also still be able to purchase NCoin.

Event Quests
Speak to Bodyguard Blue daily to receive a quest for the Proof of Red, Red Libra Supply Box, and XP/SP. Each monster kill counts as 1 quest point per party member. So an entire party will still only need to defeat 250 or 300 total monsters depending on the quest requirements below.

Please be aware that the quests have no tracking information in the qust window, however the quests can still be turned in once the required monster count has been reached.



Red Libra Talisman
During the event, Red Libra Talismans will be available from the Red Libra Supllies boxes. All five talismans are able to be equipped simultaneously.
