Hi there, we hope you’ve had a wonderful Next Fest!

We’ve been reading your feedback and working on some general bug fixes for the demo:

  • Fixed an issue where Wolfe would fail to join the party again after a game over.

  • Fixed an issue where using an item would sometimes heal enemies instead of the player.

  • Fixed a softlock caused by quitting episode 1 and immediately starting over.

  • Fixed a softlock in the treasure/power up menu. It wouldn’t spawn the accept button if you changed resolutions in settings.

  • Fixed an issue with controllers that would invert enemy targets selection, if there were 3 or more in the battle.

  • Added a new action total feature, where you can see how much damage your action will inflict if it’s normal, weak, or resist.

  • Added letter-boxing for ultra wide resolutions, maintaining the correct aspect ratio of 16:9 the game was designed for.

  • Fixed undefeated run appearing as 0 in episode end results, when it should display the bonus value.

  • Fixed the SP button spawning a placeholder button icon during tutorials if you used a mouse.

  • Fixed challenge mode special conditions repeating for all combats in the same map.

  • Fixed challenge mode special condition that inflicts bleed with weaks, now affects all actors.

  • Fixed a rare instance where the dark overlay of the pause menu would remain active after closing the pause menu.

  • Fixed Ringo’s landing animation smoke VFX. The Shader displayed a border around the smoke that looked very weird.

  • Fixed an issue with the combat deed “First turn finish”. It would occasionally reward the player with honor even after several turns passed.

Squad Tactics - andrespaleico
1) Corrupted Environment

New environment for the Final Region.

Floor tiles do damage equal to corruption level whenever a non-corrupted enter or end a turn in these tiles. (corrupted units are not affected).

2) New items

Sorcerer's Tunic: -10 AP cost for all spells. +20 Elemental Resistance

Sorcerer's Helm: +1 Range for all spells. +10 Elemental Resistance

3) Skill Hotkeys

Activate any action of the top row with keys F1 to F12, bottom row with numbers from 1 to 0.

For actions that do not require target, it will ask you to press the same key again to confirm.

By default, keys are not shown (for aesthethic reasons). Once you press any hotkey, all of them become visible for the entire turn.

4) Re-roll main rewards

You'll get 3 new options (from the same category).

The chance of corrupted rewards appearing is calculated again on rerolling.

5) Notifications when unlocking a new class or new skills

6) Game progress bar

Fill the stage slots as you progress through the run (the current stage flickers).

Length varies depending on game mode.

7) Combat balancing

Energy Orb: Momentum gain now scales with item level

Slash: Now applies 2 stacks of bleed (used to be 1)

Goblin Thief: Can steal up to 100 upgrade points from the opposite squad (ability)

Tribal Hunter: Slightly reduced Accuracy, Evasion, Physical Strength and Base Damage

Hello Night Drivers!

It's been a while. After the last patch, I needed to take a break from the project. At the same time, I started a new job that required more focus from me.

Nevertheless, I haven't forgotten about Midnight Racer! Today, I'm bringing an update to the PvP mode that introduces a new mechanic – Antiboosts!

As of now, there are 3 Antiboosts in the game:

  • Trojan – For the next 5 seconds, your opponent loses score instead of gaining it.

  • Fan – Launches the opponent into the air.

  • Delete Button – Removes all collectibles in the opponent’s vicinity.

Depending on your feedback, I’ll adjust how frequently they spawn and possibly add more variety. I might even introduce new antiboosts.

In addition, this break gave me a fresh perspective on the game, and I started noticing various bugs and inconveniences in controls and general navigation in the game menus. These have also been addressed.

Thank you Night Drivers for your patience and support! I assure you, the game has not been abandoned and will continue to receive long-term support. My energy is slowly returning, and I’m getting ready to work on new track variants and take a closer look at car perks.

Street Dog Legend - bugmode
We've had a big influx of new players and new wishlists overnight - another special thanks to all you legends out there :D

Another big thanks goes out to @itswill for trying out the game on his Twitch stream, and to @jcubed100 for making our first ever YouTube playthrough!

This hotfix addresses some pretty spoiler heavy stuff that affected some gameplay and story progression. Notes below:
— Fixed issue where Start Menu music wouldn't loop. Yippie!
— Fixed issue where contracts would mistakenly auto-complete after serving any following customer a "special" hot dog
— Fixed issue where savescumming before a work day started would trigger the work timer in the apartment
— Fixed issue where game would save past the gala, which was never intended. Continuing on previous saves past day 29 may result in bugs, I recommend starting a new game on either Story or Freeplay mode if you wish to keep playing!
— Fixed typos for some dialogue and a clue in a secret area
— Adjusted odds of "special" customers appearing, they previously appeared a little too often
— Implemented safety check for a frame perfect bug that involves a pack of hot dogs and closing the cabinet. If someone else encounters this issue, please submit a bug report detailing steps to recreate!

This is Graham, the programmer, and as always thank you for playing our game! We are happy to announce the next update, "God's Synthesis", adding on a lot of exciting new content and fixing a few bugs.

1) New Stage - Abandoned Mines

A mine that has taken on a new form of life. You will encounter both the Phian and Aigam armies in this stage, as well as new types of enemies that have lived peacefully up until now. With the location of God's Synthesis finally confirmed, time is of the essence. Retrieve this artifact before either armies do!

2) New Mercenary - Punk

Punk, the shapeshifting brawler, joins the Guild!

He relies on switching between his human and kangaroo stance to gain the advantage of any situation.

Left Hook / Bullet Kick (Auto Attack)
  • Level 1 Description:

    • Human: Short hook punch.

      • Damage: 100%

    • Kangaroo: Long wind kick

      • Damage: 75% Pierce: 3

Stance Change (Active)
  • Level 1 Description:

    • Change between Human and Kangaroo Form.

Counter Punch / Battle Roar (Passive 1)
  • Level 1 Description:

    • Upon changing to Human: For 2s, unable to auto attack but can counter 1 attack. Damage: 400%

    • Upon changing to Kangaroo: Roar, knocking back enemies. Stun: 25%

Extreme Focus (Passive 2)
  • Level 1 Description:

    • Every 7th Auto Attack is a guaranteed critical hit.

Blast Beam (Ultimate)
  • Level 1 Description:

    • Focuses energy into a laser.

    • Damage: 50% Duration: 5s

    • MVT SPD: -30%

3) New Weapons, Armors, & Items

This time around, we added 2 weapons, 2 armor, and 4 items!

Drill Shooter (Weapon)
  • Level 1 Description:

    • Shoots a drill that does continuous damage.

    • Damage: 70% Pierce: 10

Dead Man's Pickaxe (Weapon)
  • Level 1 Description:

    • Swings a pickaxe to the ground.

    • Damage: 70%

Perun's Rock (Armor)
  • Level 1 Description:

    • DEF PEN: +10%

Veles' Shadow (Armor)
  • Level 1 Description:

    • Mitigate 1 hit.

    • CD: 120s

Yggdrasil Branch (Item)
  • Lobs a seed which grows vines blocking enemies for 20s. The user is able to cross through the vines but at a reduced movement speed.

Crystal Prism (Item)
  • Creates a barrier that makes you invincible for 3 seconds. Knocks back enemies upon breaking.

*Data Sword (Item)
  • Forward Slash.

    • Damage: 500 (Fixed)

*Philosopher Sword (Item)
  • Forward Slash Combo.

    • Damage: 500 (Fixed)

*Available only in the new Side Objective, Data Extraction.

4) New Side Objectives

New Side Objectives that will add more variety to your run!

Data Extraction

Help Maple extract data from enemies by defeating them using the "Data Sword"! It can be upgraded to the even more powerful, "Philosopher Sword", once you defeat 50 enemies!

Assassin

A deadly assassin has been hired to hunt you down. He employs sneaky attacks, making him tricky for those who are not ready.

5) Achievements

These new additions (except for "Data Sword" and "Philosopher Sword") can be obtained just by playing the "Abandoned Mines". Here's how to get them:

I Tried 3:
  • Survive for 5 minutes in Abandoned Mines.

    • Reward: 250 CC

Getting Better 3:
  • Survive for 10 minutes in Abandoned Mines.

    • Reward: 400 CC

Veteran 3:
  • Survive for 15 minutes in Abandoned Mines.

    • Reward: Crystal Prism (Item)

Mine Exploration:
  • Defeat 2000 enemies in Abandoned Mines..

    • Reward: Punk (Mercenary)

Mutated Abomination:
  • Defeat Slime Abomination.

    • Reward: Perun's Rock (Armor)

Continuous Alteration:
  • Defeat Infected Mine Spider.

    • Reward: Veles' Shadow (Armor)

Dragonslayer:
  • Defeat Infected Crystal Dragon.

    • Reward: Dead Man’s Pickaxe (Weapon)

Guardian of the Mines
  • Defeat Golem.

    • Reward: Drill Shooter (Weapon)

Otherworldly Entity:
  • Defeat Nameless Lifeform.

    • Reward: Yggdrasil Branch (Item)

Mission Complete 3:
  • Complete the main objective in Abandoned Mines.

    • Reward: 1000 CC

Stage Clear 3:
  • Clear Abandoned Mines.

    • Reward: Abandoned Mines (Hard)

Stage Clear Hard 3:
  • Clear Abandoned Mines on Hard Mode.

    • Reward: 3000 CC

6) Miscellaneous
  • Updated Godot Engine from v3.5 to v3.6.

  • Added "Recommended Mercenary Rank" message for each Stage and Difficulty.

  • Added the ability to hide room names in the Pause Menu.

  • Added SFX when you pick up Kredits.

  • Added a demo video for J4CK-P0T Machine.

  • Added new Status Ailments (Please refer to "Help Menu" for description):

    • Stun

    • Corpse Explosion

7) Balance Changes

Survival
  • Frequency of side objectives changed from 2 minutes to 3 minutes.

  • Critical Miss (Mutation): Chance of missing decreased from \[15%, 30%] to \[5%, 10%].

Pharaoh
  • Anubis' Blessing (Passive 2) Removed the condition to trigger this passive.

Weapons
  • Lowered the SFX of Partial Summoning (Overdrive) from -5db to -10db.

Phian Facility

- R-3X
  • HP: 40 -> 30

Aigam Fortress
  • The collisions that hide roofs of buildings have been increased.

- Potoo
  • MVT SPD: 110 -> 90

8) Bug Fixes
  • Added "Gambler's Tea Set" in Character Select.

  • Gambler's "Slot Count" in Character Select is now correctly displayed.

  • Fixed a bug where the name for the weapon "Coin Launcher" was not displayed in the end results screen.

  • Maple dialogue will not trigger anymore when completing a main objective in Survival Mode.

  • Fixed a memory leak when entering Subspace for the first time in Survival Mode.

  • Strange Wanderer: fixed a bug where SFX abruptly ends when the bullet disappears.

  • Knight (Hard): Added the correct texture for their death particles.

  • Yuki Onna: No longer attacks you while in Subspace.

  • Fixed a visual bug on "Gravebot" death when they are frozen.

  • Fixed a few translation errors for Japanese.

  • Fixed a bug where players using the "Mob Index" could not go back to viewing the "Normal Variant" mobs, when switching back and forth between difficulties.

Survive the Swarm - Callum

Greetings, exterminators!

We have a quick update for you this week. Survive the Swarm runs great on Steam Deck and we're actively working toward full compatibility.

The game is not yet fully Steam Deck Verified but the demo performs smoothly. Gameplay, controls, and performance are all solid. The biggest issue we've noticed so far is that some in-game text appears a little small on Deck. UI improvements are currently in progress to make everything more readable.

Controller Support

Accessibility has been a key focus for us throughout development. We want Survive the Swarm to be enjoyable for as many players as possible, including those who rely on controller support to play comfortably.

This style of gameplay suits gamepads particularly well and the experience feels right at home on handheld devices like the Steam Deck. The game offers full controller support with a smooth and responsive feel whether you're playing on a handheld, at a desk, or from the couch.

What to Expect Right Now
  • Full controller support

  • Smooth performance at 60fps

  • Mostly clean interface, though some in-game text appears small on Deck and the Achievements screen currently cannot be navigated properly with a gamepad (UI updates are in progress)

We’ll continue testing and refining the experience as we get closer to full release. Our goal is to ensure Survive the Swarm feels just as good on a handheld as it does on a monitor.
