Hello everyone, we’ve released a minor update for ✈Velocity Wings✈:

  • Optimized the in-game score display: now only the overall score is shown on the main menu (since showing it during gameplay felt a bit cluttered)

  • Adjusted the collision sizes of some obstacles

  • Improved the pacing of dynamic difficulty to make the overall experience tighter

Hey everyone!

Time for another update on Dryfire! A lot of core systems are finally falling into place — utilities are nearly wrapped, several gameplay logic pieces are functional, and I’ve been tackling bug fixes along the way. Animations and early map work are the current focus.



Utility & Core Logic

  • Most utility functions have been finalized, covering weapon handling, equipment, and item usage.

  • Logic for interactions and state switching has been tightened up — fewer desyncs and cleaner transitions between actions.

  • Ongoing bug fixes targeting edge cases in reloads, swaps, and movement responsiveness.


Animations
  • Polishing weapon animations to bring more fluidity and feedback to gunplay.

  • Working on syncing reload and equip sequences across weapon classes.

  • Iterating on blending so actions feel less robotic and more realistic and balanced.


Maps & Environments
  • Initial blockouts for test maps are in progress.

  • Layout experiments focus on competitive flow: sightlines, cover spacing, and spawn logic.


What’s Next
  • Expand logic testing into more multiplayer-safe behavior.

  • Continue animation polish — rifles and utility items are top priority.

  • Broaden map prototyping into a couple of distinct themes (indoor vs. outdoor).

Here is a couple things different or added you will find on "Grand Sands" version 8.

-Added cover art by Cesare.

-Added tumbleweed to Intro scene (drawn by Destro).

-Added map objects on maps 6-10 including palm trees, bushes, rocks, etc.

We’ve just rolled out a hotfix to improve gameplay and fix some issues:

- More responsive attacks – combat feels smoother. Some rare bugs may still occur, but they’ll be fully resolved soon.

- Shield usage no longer drains stamina – defend without worrying about stamina.

- Jump animations 50% faster – movement in the air feels more fluid.

- First boss clone ability removed – players will no longer get stuck in clones.

Day 02 patch, nothing grand. Just some bug fixes and adjustments for balance and QOL.

Swamp pots will no longer spawn multiple health items.

Stage 3 is now completable after resolving a bug at the end of the stage.

Bleed and poison will not apply new stacks while the player is in iframes.

Bleed and poison will not apply damage while the player is under the effect of swamp kush.

Attack speed adjustments, default attack speed has increased while lowering attack speed gain
from cocktails and ingredients. Furthermore, diminishing returns have been added to attack speed.
