A new batch of bug fixes is now live on the Bleeding Edge (BETA) branch! We’re keeping it in beta for now to test stability before rolling it out to the live build.
Thanks for all your reports! To try these updates, follow the instructions in this guide.

• Fixed an issue where consumable items such as Magic Essence are not able to be activated in the inventory.
  
• Fixed an issue where selecting a card through an additional UI during combat causes turn to end.
  
• Fixed an issue where UI cannot be progressed when accessing the battle skin screen from the Quartermaster NPC.
  
• Fixed Gambit rune changing the SP cost of cards erroneously if it already costs SP.
  
• Fixed an issue where unstable artifacts cannot be activated.
  
• Fixed an issue where the talent use button cannot be selected in battle while using controllers.
  
• Fixed an issue where non-unstable artifacts can be activated in the campaign.
  
• Fixed an issue where card selection in inventory is unresponsive after switching back from item selection.
  
• Fixed an issue where the artifact remove icon is not highlighted sometimes.
  
• Fixed an issue where items are not highlighted properly when salvaging or selling at merchants.
  
• Fixed a UI bug with a rarity filter view in the inventory.
  
• Fixed a bug regarding achievement "The Scoundrel's Trick" not counting the number of stabs correctly.

• Updated localization.
  
• Improved save game logic.
  
• Wolf bite enemy skill damage is reduced and now has the maximum number of hits.

It’s been a while, but we’ve got some exciting news to share outside of Wrendia! Our studio just released the first global playtest of our next PC game, 13Z – a roguelike hack-and-slash action game inspired by the lore of the 12 Eastern Zodiacs. We’d love for you to give it a try and share your thoughts with us. :)

We’re still refining the graphics, sounds, UI, and especially the roguelike mechanics to make sure we deliver a deep, engaging experience. This is where your feedback plays a huge role.

We know this isn’t the full experience yet, but we’re really excited to hear what you think. We've got some exciting news to share with you today! First up, for all you strategy and adventure enthusiasts, Gordian Quest is currently on sale at 30% off during the Steam Strategy Sale. If you have friends who've been waiting for the right moment to jump into our world, now's their chance!




But here's a little secret - we've been sneaking in controller support in our recent game patches. Some of our eagle-eyed players noticed and have been instrumental in testing and providing invaluable feedback. To those heroes, we say: Thank you!


Adapting a game primarily designed for keyboard and mouse to the Steam Deck was no small feat. The main hurdle? Completely rethinking our controls and UI flow. Ensuring that the game felt intuitive and fluid with a controller was paramount, but we also encountered other technical challenges:

• Button Mapping: Making sure each action, from navigating the menu to selecting a card, felt natural on a controller.
  
• Visual Feedback: Optimizing the graphics for a smaller screen
  
• Performance Optimization: Tweaking the game's performance to ensure it runs smoothly on the Steam Deck's hardware.

Yet, each challenge was a learning curve and that's also part of what makes game development such an adventure. We're truly grateful for your continued support, patience, and feedback during this process. It has paved the way for us to explore bringing Gordian Quest to more consoles like the Switch or PS5 in the future, reaching out to even more fans of the genre.

We'd like to thank everyone for their support, love and feedback. We are determined to continue adjusting and improving the Gordian Quest experience for everybody, so we have rolled out a new 1.3 Patch!

Patch 1.3 consists of mostly technical adjustments, but most importantly, Realm Mode's new Boss has been let loose from his cage. The Alpha Werewolf's bite is now stronger than his bark.






A few moons ago, we asked the community what kind of boss they'd like to see in Gordian Quest. Over those few months, he was in training, and now he's ready for a face off.


The Alpha Werewolf has various AOE abilities and single target skills. They often focus on bleed stacks, keeping Heroes on their toes about health.

We have given the Alpha Werewolf a bunch of underlings, based on player suggestion. Like a pack of wolves, he does not fight alone, and will use his minions to provide for him. Being the loyal hounds they are, some will not hesitate to keep him protected.



The Alpha Werewolf protects his pups in exchange: he can potentially buff his underlings so they can do his dirty job as well. Be aware of how they bounce off each other.



We look forward to hearing from everyone about their experience with the Alpha Werewolf! Your suggestions have brought in a new, exciting experience. We hope to have another opportunity in implementing community suggestions in the future!

• Controller support for various interactions have been updated and improved, such as in the map, or when using the inventory UI etc.
  
• Improved initial load times when starting the game. Players will no longer have to wait a long time when starting up the game.
  
• Improved load times when game has been running for a period of time.
  
• We have resolved some memory issues that have previously caused some problems at times when the user plays the game for an extended period of time.
  
• FIxed an issue where having a lot of items in your inventory will lead to long save/load times.
  
• Fixed certain issues causing black screen to occur when transitioning between scenes.
  
• Fixed various issues causing soft locks in pvp mode.

We got some great news for all of you: Patch 1.2.16 is now live on the Bleeding-Edge (BETA) branch! Your feedback once again has allowed us to continue expanding and improving Gordian Quest.

If you would like to give it a test, follow the instructions in this guide to give these brand new updates a shot.

Translations for Bleeding-Edge will come later and due this being a beta build, expect bugs. If you do bump across any, don’t forget to hit F8 to send us that report!

• The addition of the new Realm Boss: The Alpha
  
• Controller support enhancements
  
• Optimizations (Preventing black screens and excessive loading.)

The Alpha werewolf wants to showcase his training! You have a chance of encountering this pup on a Boss node during a Realm Mode run. The Alpha has been trained by you, the community, and is now live on the Bleeding-Edge branch to show off his fresh new tricks.

Since he's still getting used to his new skills, he's open to some suggestions and feedback. If he's looking a little buggy, let us know! We want to give out the most PAW-sitive boss fight ;).

We have exciting news for you guys! A few months ago, we asked you for your thoughts on a new boss. However, during our recent brainstorming session, we stumbled upon a pawsitively shocking surprise!

It turns out that we had actually created a realm boss design over a year ago and it got lost in our archives!


Dubbed "The Alpha", was originally intended to just be a simple summoner of wolves and werewolves. But as the game had evolved, we knew it needed more.

This is where we need your help. We want to hear your ideas on what special abilities and attacks "The Alpha" should have. Let us know your suggestions in the comments and together, let's design a boss that is not only challenging but also fun to play! :)



The Werewolf will be added to Realm Mode: our rogue-like, procedurally generated game mode. For those who are new to Gordian Quest, Realm Mode creates the map randomly, so your experience with every run will be vastly different. You can take on this boss with different teams, or even solo.
