• Fixed an issue where players could become unable to climb onto rocks at certain moments during the battle with The Pain.

The previous iteration of IW's AI opponent Infinity Wars was quite lack-luster, and predictable, as such, this new iteration comes in just about time.

But this new system isn’t just an upgrade, it’s also the foundation for the future Campaigns, this update brings the AI into public testing, with a live environment with real gameplay we'll be able to evolve the AI further, fine-tuning its behavior for a more strategic, challenging, and rewarding experience.

Here’s what you can expect from the new AI compared to the old system:

• Smarter decision-making with situational cards like Mass Death.

• Aggression when ahead, defense when behind, with the new AI adapting to the battlefield.

• Smarter use of activated abilities, with greater ability to assess and judge when to use them.

• Strategic choice-making in the Command Zone, to assess and judge which cards are better to leave in the command zone and when.

• Ability to use exile and recall cards.

With this overhaul, Infinity Wars takes its first steps into a new age of AI, with encounters only getting more responsive, unpredictable and alive the closer we get to the release of the Campaigns.

We're looking forward improving upon it in the subsequent updates, as of such we've added a new temporary channel to our discord, check out the AI Feedback channel on discord!

Pay 3: Enrage 5 When Redblade, The Vanguard becomes Enraged, it gets Bloodthirst 5 and Untouchable until the end of turn. This activation is preemptive.

When you deploy Simon, Tank Commander, deal 18 damage to target Character in the Defense Zone. At the end of turn, if Simon, Tank Commander is deployed, all Characters in play, in your Deck, and Hand gain +1/+0.

• Added Global Default option to deck builder, allowing you to use the selected default card back.

• Fixed issue where the deck and graveyard zones would not update stat values of cards.

• Fixed issue where Draft and Choice activations would only let you select cards you could afford.

• Fixed issue where player health and morale would be colored incorrectly when overhealed.

• Fixed issue where returning to the play screen would display an incorrect title.

• Added an experimental fix for issue where if you killed a defiant engineer with an ability before the start of combat they would sometimes still spawn beast tokens, depending on how the fix affects other gameplay we may make it a permanent fix.

• Added additional logging for issue where your selected cardback could be ignored, using the classic card back instead.

Protagonist
Note: The protagonist's appearance, such as hairstyle and eye color, are customizable in the character creator.

The prince (or princess) of Azuria, and captain of the Rangers. They're highly skilled, and the only Rathalos Rider in the country. The protagonist has been focused on their Ranger duties, protecting monster ecosystems and researching egg quartz, when a shocking event changes everything. They come to realize they have little to no understanding of the events in the world or the hand humankind had in causing them, and in order to learn the truth, they set out across the Northern Meridian and into forbidden ground.

Eleanor

A Rider and the princess of Vermeil. As the situation in Vermeil worsens, relations with Azuria, as outlined by the nations' covenant, become increasingly strained. Eleanor offers herself as a hostage to Azuria in an attempt to ease the tensions. She cares deeply for her own Monstie, and is moved by witnessing the Rangers' activities. Wanting to understand her sister the queen's motivations, she accompanies the protagonist on their journey to the Northern Meridian.

Rudy

A Royal Felyne, whose family has served Azuria's royalty for generations. He's served as the protagonist's Palico since they were very young, and bears a deep devotion to the king and the Azurian royal family. Though he feels conflicted about disobeying the king and leaving Azuria, he eventually makes the decision to travel with the protagonist across the Northern Meridian and toward the Sacrosanctum.

Simon

A young man who's pleasant and agreeable with everyone. He has no family to speak of, and first met the protagonist while wandering the Azurian forest. Having grown up with the protagonist, he's their closest friend and confidante. The two of them entered the Rangers at the same time, and have worked together ever since. Simon admires the protagonist's mother Amara, who founded the organization.

Thea

A brand-new member of the Rangers. She loves Poogies and other creatures, and is naturally attuned to the world around her. Her innate skill led to her being chosen for the Rangers, and she follows the protagonist, whom she greatly admires, expressing her devotion through her actions. She's always accompanied by her Poogie, Pookie.

Arken

The king of Azuria and father of the protagonist. Despite faltering relations with their neighbor Vermeil, he maintains a steady, stoic demeanor. Wanting to uphold the covenant his forebears made with the Wyverians, he is strictly against anyone crossing the Northern Meridian. He has high expectations for the protagonist's ability to protect the country, as their sole Rathalos Rider.

Amara

The protagonist's mother and queen of Azuria. She founded the Rangers, with the aim of protecting and preservering the natural environment. Ten years prior, in opposition to the execution of one of the two Rathalos twins dubbed to be cursed, she absconded with one of them, never to be seen again.

◆ The Monsties Bound in Kinship with Riders
"Monsties" are what Riders like the protagonist call the monsters with whom they've formed bonds. Monsties are valuable partners to their Riders, both in battle and out in the field.

Ratha

Rathalos were thought extinct in Azuria, but ten years prior, the protagonist's mother found a crystallized egg in the forest, from which Ratha was hatched. As one of a pair of twin Skyscale Rathalos, the birth was considered an omen of disaster. The protagonist's Monstie.

Angie

Eleanor's Monstie. Because it's a Monstie from Vermeil, it looks different than those you can find in Azuria.

Kagachi

Thea's Monstie. From wall climbing to gliding, it's capable of a variety of Riding Actions.

Fawn

Simon's Monstie. Legiana are common Monstie choices among Azurian Rangers and Wyvern Brigade members.

Honed Glavenus

It is stronger than the regular species, and its whole body is covered in armor. While some think it has been artificially enhanced, details are unknown.

Ratha V

A Skyscale Rathalos born ten years ago from egg quartz discovered in Blightstone Woods. As twins were prophesied to bring disaster, it was sentenced to death, but it fled Azuria with Amara's help. With its body now covered in armor, it's clearly the Monstie of some unknown Rider. It appears to stand in the way of the protagonist as they attempt to stop the fighting between the troops of Azuria and Vermeil.

◆ The Monsters the Protagonist will Face
Feral Monsters
Feral monsters are considered more dangerous than their regular counterparts. The Crystal Encroachment affecting the land has spread to these monsters, causing Blightstones to appear on their bodies.

Feral Chatacabra

Using its long tongue, this Amphibian can grab objects and food from a distance.

Magnamalo

A Fanged Wyvern clad in a heavy carapace.

Rey Dau

A luminous gold Flying Wyvern that dwells in sandy, arid regions.
